The decor, views and staff was next to perfection- absolutely no complaints. We started with Diet Coke and Baxter's sunset drink, a beautiful looking drink - fun mix of mango margarita along with raspberry daiquiri. The drink was very tasty and refreshing. For our mains, we got the French dip (the best French dip in MO as per me, filled with juicy shaved prime rib, and Swiss cheese with super tasty Au Jus sauce on the side. I got it with perfectly seasoned delicious roasted potatos! This sandwich took me straight to heaven - emmmm. The rest of my family members got the blackened Mahi Mahi which was topped with house made mango salsa along with some rice and veggies. It was a slightly sweet and tasty savory dish. They also got the Cedar plank Salmon Grilled perfectly along with red wine Dijon sauce and some veggies on the side. Both were cooked well and very different refreshing flavors. We also got some sweet potato fries to go along with the fishes. To end the tasty lunch, we saved some room for some dessert! We got the Rich brownie, served with vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce. On one side, we were trying to keep the sugar intake low by sharing but on the other, It was a fight to eat the most bites of the ice cream haha lol. Overall, from the drinks to the entrées, to the sides, and the desert was perfect without any disappointments. Richard, our waiter, was amazing, and the rest of the staff was so nice and attentive. I've been saying for years that the food scene around the lake is a little disappointing. You can get pretty burnt out on all the restaurants serving similar foods that start to taste the same. 1932 Reserve is such a refreshing change. It's a great place for a special occasion, a date night, or just when you want a really delicious meal at a nice restaurant and you're tired of the typical restaurants around the lake. The one negative would be the parking, but it seems like they have a golf cart running people back and forth, which definitely helps. The Service & Atmosphere: Service was adequate, but far from fine dining. If you're charging premium prices, the service model needs to match. Having random runners drop food at the table without knowing who ordered what is diner or casual Mexican restaurant service, not an elegant dining experience. The new manager stopped by twice--a nice touch, until we actually provided constructive feedback. Instead of offering a remedy, he offered excuses about being new and didn't handle criticism well. The Food: Apps (Deviled Eggs & Tuna): Both looked like they'd been plated earlier in the day--they had an unappetizing "sheen" to them that made them look leftover rather than fresh. The flavor on the eggs was completely muted, and the tuna was equally lusterless. Salads: We split the Caesar, and our friends had the wedge. They were served without any offer of fresh pepper. When we flagged down a staff member, they brought out cheap grocery-store salt and pepper grinders. Later, we were told the new chef prefers not to offer pepper on the table. With all due respect to the chef: that's the guest's choice, not yours. (Side note: the wedge was tasty, but oddly wasn't actually cut into a wedge). It was okay, but not as good as it used to be; the new Asian flair and bowl presentation take away from what used to make it the star of the show. The pork chop was good and thoroughly enjoyed. After waiting about 10 minutes with no attention, I had to go to the bar myself to request a cloth to wipe the table and to obtain menus. While the restaurant did not appear particularly busy, it was clearly understaffed. Our party of five ordered sandwiches, one appetizer, and one beer (the rest of us had water). The total came to $134. The bill was presented on a handheld device, and when I asked for an itemized receipt, I was told one was not available.
