I'll give this pizza joint 3 stars for the good service and speed. The buzz's itself was not good. The pineapples taste as if it was spoiled and the toppings were just lumped on there. The crust was thin and dry but the cheese was good! I wish I had a better experience but.... I don't think I'll try this one again read more

I really don't have much too say as I ordered the tamales to go and picked them up. I wasn't really sure what to expect as I've never had hot tamales before. I ordered a dozen hot tamales. They were really flavorful and perfect amount of spice. I would definitely pick these up again if I'm around town. Would recommend anyone to try them also. read more

This is a no frills kind of place. The decor is non-existent other than the picture of Roger Goodell with the words "Do Not Serve this Man" on the wall. There are a few poker machines, a few more cheap tables and chairs and that's about it. With that being said, all of the food is decent to solid except for the pizza. I know that's odd as the name of the place is Ben's PIZZA! Now granted I only had the pizza once but it tasted more Digiorno like than hand tossed in a restaurant like. The rest of the food though I like. They have a decent list of po-boys, I usually get the meatball or fried ham. They always bake the meatball po boy after so that the cheese melts and the bread gets browned around the edges. Perfect! They have the usual shrimp, roast beef and erster poyboys as well. (Yes I typed 'erster', they don't say Oyster in Da Parish). They also have a very good Muffaletta. The olive salad is great! The fries and onion rings are blah as they are frozen but they don't charge you a lot for them either. Forgot to mention they also have tamales and a Wop salad. You won't find that name in many places in this politically correct world then again Da Parish doesn't follow those sort of rules. The people are super friendly and fast at both Ben's locations. I prefer the one in Arabi so I can take my sandwich across the street to The Battlefield and eat it in peace. read more

Not so great. The pizza crust taste like pre-Made frozen hard crust. The wop salad was iceberg with olives and pizza topping.... I gave it 2 stars because the staff were nice and i think the pizza toppings were decent quality. read more

Sadly some of you think this is the best pizza. Maybe 20 years ago but not now. And I dare you to call barstool taste test. They will give them a miserable rating . I'm stuck at a 12 hour shift and not familiar with the food around me so I googled pizza places near me and Bens Pizza popped up first. I get hungry so I ordered my regular Hawaiian pizza and spicy wings as I usually do at any pizza place. I was excited to get my food because I haven't had pizza in over a month. The driver took over an hour and half just to deliver my pizza being that the restaurant is nearly a mile away from my location and it was a Saturday evening. When I get my food the pizza don't even look like a pizza should, it looked made out of cardboard and had no taste to it . When I actually go and try the pizza , I was right, the dough tasted like cardboard and I was highly upset. Now the toppings, sauce, and cheese was on point and that was the only part that I enjoyed about my pizza. The wings were also on point and that brought my judgement about this place a little higher that it already was. The reason I gave this 2 stars and not 5 or 1 is because, I feel as if they could have done better with the pizza dough and I have yet to try the rest of their menu and enjoy the pizza in their restaurant. read more

Large poboys.. Pizza crust is prefab, but edible with extra cheese & pepperoni. Helps that they are nice here too. If you're hungry, or sick of the normal pizza delivery places, it will work. My boys love their hot sausage poboys & onion rings. I like the wop salad, easy on the olives (or on the side), w/Italian. read more

Only tried the muffuletta, paid for the extra meat & cheese, and it was good! The ham is sliced very thick if that is how you like it.

The pizza was good. The muffaletta was half cold and half warm but a huge portion. Bathrooms were very old and dirty

I have been eating eating Bens pizza for 40 + years. It's a must when I return to the area. The pizza, tamales & muffaletta are alway excellent!!! Wouldn't dream of going to the Chalmette area and not stop in!!! Thanks for always doing it up right!!!! read more

Took my sister there last night for shrimp po-boy, muff, and Wop salad, everything was great! The lady who served on us was friendly and made us feel comfortable! My sister is looking forward to the next time she visits to go to Ben's to get more great food! By the way the prices were good too for what we had gotten! I have never eaten inside of Ben's pizza but my coworkers and I have ordered delivery a handful of times. Which is something they advertise on the front of their menu. The food is always pretty good but the customer service is horrible. They are not willing to help you whatsoever and last time the delivery guy didn't even have a pen so I could sign my reciept. Part of being in this Industry is a good attitude. read more

Ben's in Arabi was closed for a while after Katrina, but has been opened again for many years now. This is the pizza I grew up with... although it has changed since the 60s and 70s, it's still the best pizza to me. And although Manuel's tamales are no more, the ones they have now are closer than anything else out there. And of course, there are still great po-boys and stuffed artichokes! read more

Beware!!!!!!! If you are used to a good Roast Beef on Muffuletta bun. It ain't there no more.. I just went there they are using the small bun calling it whole and charging double. Not good at all. $17.00 read more
