Highly recommend! Finding a honest, quality mechanic isn't easy and I'm glad I found Ben and his shop. Total bummer but I took that as a sign he does great work if that many people trust him with their bikes. A couple of weeks ago, I picked up an '84 Honda Nighthawk CB700S. The fuel tank was disgusting. I contacted Ben about getting the fuel tank cleaned/lined and getting the carbs cleaned/rebuilt. He responded very quickly and dropped off the bike next day. After the tank was done, he said that I didn't need the carbs cleaned and that the bike ran flawlessly. Other shops I've been to over the years would've tried to sell additional service. An example would be when I lived in Sacramento. I went to get tires put on and they said I needed an oil change. Unknown to them, I changed the oil the day before... I didn't feel overwhelmed with unneeded services. I am definitely going back here when I need more work done on my bike. Thanks Ben! Okay so where do I start? In March of 2017 I acquired a 1975 Yamaha RD350. I bought the bike in RUNNING CONDITION and it just needed some routine maintenance, like carbs cleaned, and tuned. Bike also needed new tires, breaks adjusted etc. I went to Ben's trusting the numerous great reviews and when I got there saw some antique bikes sitting in his hangar that made me a little less nervous. After about two weeks in his shop I picked up the bike, mind you his labor rate is $90 so it wasn't cheap. Rode the bike home, then rode it to my cousins later that day. I never made it home that night. Bike left me stranded on the side of the road. I called up Ben and he told me to bring it in again. I brought it in told him the motor was being flooded. He said it just needed to be tuned and leaned out I said okay do it. A day later I get a call saying they did everything and it's still not fixed and that my bike needs the top end rebuilt. I went down there to pick up the bike and paid another expensive and picked up a NON running bike that I originally dropped off in RUNNING condition. I was depressed after hearing about the top end and decided to park the bike. I had no reason to distrust Ben and his mechanics. Fast forward to present day, I saved up some money and wanted to get the bike up and running again. Instead of taking it to Ben I took it to Mach 1 in Newport Beach CA. After pulling up and speaking with Long I knew I was in the right place. Turns out the goofs at Ben's Motorworks were cutting of the 2 stoke oil instead of the gasoline causing the lubrications in the top end to be non existent. And the motor being flooded wa needing a new top end ?? It was just the fuel petcock. So now I have a running bike and it COST ME LESS THAN WHAT I SPENT AT BEN's, and got my work done by someone WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Moral of the story don't bring your vintage bike or any bike for that matter here. Go to someone who knows what they are doing and save yourself the headache and $$$. read more

Its so rare to find a mechanic that you can really trust. Ben is very honest and he will not treat you unfairly or take advantage like so many A & P's do especially when your plane is in for an annual. I had a low voltage light issue that was fairly complicated to fix. Because the issue was new to him he did not bill me for all the time he put into to figuring out the problem. His rates are reasonable and he and his staff are is very skilled, knowledgeable, amiable and professional. I brought my son's 2004 CRF 250R to Ben because it wouldn't start. I had the valves adjusted once prior, and the previous mechanic I had gone to told me it would probably need a new top end next time. Ben still checked everything like the carburetor, spark plug, compressions etc. in order make sure it really needed a top end. This showed me he is not out to gouge anyone and truly wants to make his cutomers happy. Unfortunately the bike did need a new top end, but Ben completed the work on time and for a very affordable and fair price. I am extremely impressed with the service and professionalism I experienced from Ben's shop. I had waited a while to do this review because I wanted to get a few rides in on my freshly services bike. First off price: I got my valves adjusted, 4 spark plugs, a new clutch, rear tire installed, throttle and clutch adjusted and fluids changed for only $825 incredible price! Everyone I tell can't believe that's what I payed. The customer service and far and beyond any and everything I could have imagined. They have the lowest prices . They charge have the price of everyone else and there work is legit. they did more than i couldve asked for ,went out of there way to fix things i was even asking them to do charged me 75 and everyone else was asking 145. I also told Ben i was looking to buy another Motorcycle and he offered to inspect it before i buy it !!..its these little things that make them #1 in my book. Before contacting Ben, I contacted two other places who also fix motorcycles. Both places suggested me not to fix it. I had my '96 Suzuki sitting in the garage with oil and gas for the last decade. And they told me, it will never be the same and it wasn't worth fixing it. Then, I call Ben. I explained the situation and told me he would help me fix it. He was very informative over the phone and explained the things that would need some work and cleaning. He deals with bikes like mine often, and told me he really enjoys doing this type of work. Had a large 12 hp concrete cutter that hadn't run in a few years. Had no idea what might be wrong with it. Ben and his team completely overhauled it, cleaned it, replaced gaskets, filters, pumps and bushings.
