I experienced an allergic reaction after a promotional facial and upgrade purchase and contacted the company the next day. Instead they tried to convince me to come in and try other products, they have also instructed me to email contact customer service about my request to cancel purchase. Do they really expect me to try other products after an allergic reaction??? Since then, I've made multiple phone calls, sent emails, and made every reasonable effort to resolve the issue. Rather than receiving a straightforward answer, I've been given the runaround while my concerns have been dismissed. In my opinion, this business appears more interested in protecting its sales than taking care of customers when something goes wrong. Consumers deserve transparency, and compassion--especially when a product/service causes an adverse reaction. Before my treatment started I had a consultation with Ben. He evaluated my skin and explained the treatment process and what I could expect. Ben is very knowledgeable regarding skincare. He was patient and kind. He outlined what my treatment plan would be if I were to decide to move forward after the promotional treatment. AVOID THIS PLACE! DECEPTIVE AND A SCAM! I had a very disappointing experience at Ben's Beauty. They don't let you enjoy any facials, as they are CONSTANTLY trying to push their packages and products during every part of the service. What should have been a relaxing experience felt more like a continuous sales pitch. During my visit, I was pressured into signing up for a credit line in the middle of a facial making me extremely uncomfortable. The way it was explained was misleading. Their strategy to get away with it is that they essentially frontload all the costs onto their products and make the facial seem "free". They sell a face lifting device for over $1200 (different for different people) appears to be available online, including at Walmart, for around $60. They tried selling me on their LED mask too. To make matters worse, once you walk out of the door with the products, their no return policy is enforced, leaving you stuck with purchases and the credit line you may not have fully understood or intended to make. Synchrony bank seems to be involved in this scam as they don't help you either. Overall, I felt misled and uncomfortable throughout the experience. Ben's Beauty is the used car lot of facials, and Ben is its chief creepy salesman. Like others, I saw an enticing ad on social media, so I bit. Scheduling was easy, the people I spoke to were almost too friendly and obsequious, but even with multiple phone calls and texts they got the day wrong, which I caught and promptly corrected with them. Numerous text messages the day of, and even a phone call at 11:45 for a noon appointment as I'm pulling into the parking lot. I called to be buzzed in, no answer, had to text again; I walk inside their lobby at 11:50, announce myself and sit down. There's a very cute dog sitting with a young lady who's waiting for her mom. I ask if its ok to pet it, she shrugs and the women at the counter say sure, turns out its Ben's dog. When I do pet it, the dog, which is lounging on a couch and had been making eye contact, immediately stares straight down at the ground. This is a sign. Around 12:15, needing to use the restroom, I ask when my appointment will start, the one they literally texted and called 10 times about with emphasis on being there 10-15 minutes early. The text I had gotten that day said 5-10 minutes early, and there I was. There had been no contact after I said hello, except when I asked if they found the paperwork I had already done online, and they seemed to be having trouble finding my appointment. 'No, hey, we're running a a little late late but we'll get you in shortly.' A slightly surly young woman with dark circles under her eyes seemed annoyed at the question. I went to the bathroom down the hall, and when I returned, a tall man loudly said, you must be Hope, I've heard such good things about you with a big fake smile on his face. I countered with something like, from who, and made a jokey remark. He starts to lecture me about arriving at noon for a noon appointment, and how they can't take someone who arrives at noon, they need to be there ahead of time for the 'experience'. I point out I parked at 11:45 and was inside at 11:50 but he did not want to hear it, and asked the surly woman what time I arrived; of course she backed up her boss. Meanwhile, the woman whose daughter was waiting on the couch came in after finishing her facial, and they immediately launched on the upsell from whatever package she had to charge her an additional $2K more. She was a willing victim, but even she balked when they said, hey we can start doing facials on her daughter, who appeared to be about 10. They laughed it off, saying later when she's 16. The 'touch' was going on and on, and I was getting worried about my car getting scratched in the pay parking lot next door with the too small spaces. Ben lost it when I asked after another 10 minutes to inquire if I had enough time to check on my car, apologized to his mark and asked if I could step into another room where he repeated the falsehood that I wasn't on time. He basically said I could come back another time (no way after I paid for parking) or check my 'attitude' -- "You're up here," he said, holding his hand up by his eyes, "and I need you to be down here." Which is actually hilarious when a 6 foot tall man says that to a 5 foot tall woman. I brightly said, "Sure!" Then as soon as I was out in the hall to go check on the car I muttered eff you under my breath, which I hope was caught on the many cameras likely scattered around the place. As for the facial: Ben came in to the room to do a quick skin evaluaton, he's all smiles now, complimenting me on my eyes and telling me all the extras he will throw in. Daisy the aesthetician is nice and capable, but some of the products smell like cheap men's cologne. My skin looked and felt good afterward, but I woke up with a headache which I never do, and I wonder if it's from the electro stimulation device they used on me. Daisy left, Ben came in the room, brought over a mirror so I could see the results, and half heartedly tried to see me a $100 jar of exfoliant. He tried to drop the line about "if you're serious about your skin" to try to push their packages, but I told him I have already purchased a package somewhere else. As if I would ever buy something from someone who low key threatened me! I feel so badly for the women who fell prey to this businesses predatory sales practices, I feel badly for the women who work there, and I even feel bad for his dog to have to live with him. If you like your facials with really obvious sales techniques that attempt to prey on women's insecurities, lots of industrial street sounds from outside, and smelly overpriced product -- seriously, check out CBGardn, which lists a .5 ounce serum for $1500, a scam all unto itself -- then go to Ben's. If not, check out Navi Skincare or literally any other place than them. Warning: SCAM SCAM SCAM: Deceptive Sales Tactics at Ben's Beauty Spa -- Please Read Before You Go I responded to a Facebook ad from Ben's Beauty Spa offering a discounted one-time facial. The ad seemed legitimate, so I booked an appointment. The facial itself was fine, but what happened afterward was extremely misleading and concerning. When the treatment was over, I was offered a plan for ongoing facials. They presented three package options ranging from roughly $1,000 to over $4,000. I told them immediately that the plan over $4,000 was too expensive. The staff member (named Jackie) then said she could "do me a favor" and give me everything included in the $4,000 package for $2,000, insisting that she wanted to help me and give me a great deal. I agreed to the $2,000 package, believing I'd get all the same products and treatments from the higher plan at the discounted price. What was really concerning is that she tried to pressure me into applying for financing which I declined. I chose to pay with my own credit card instead. At checkout, I overheard the staff whispering and saw the screen listing the $4,700 plan. I immediately asked about it, and both Jackie and the cashier assured me that I was only paying $2,000 and that I would get "everything from the higher package" plus 15 facials under that plan. They said my receipt would be emailed -- but I never received it. Before I left, Jackie took me into another room, handed me a bag of products, and had me initial for each item. Once home, life got busy, and I didn't look through the bag right away. When I finally did (around September 29th), I found a paper receipt hidden at the bottom of the bag -- showing a charge for $4,776. No signature, no emailed receipt, nothing close to what was promised. What's terrible is they put a receipt in the bottom of the bag and NEVER mentioned this. Why would they not hand it to me? Why would they tell me they were going to email my receipt when they had printed it all along? I called repeatedly -- no answer. I went to the spa, and it was closed. What's worse is that this place can't be accessed from the street. You have to be buzzed in which is convenient for them given how they scam people. There were two other women outside who were also trying to reach someone, and shockingly, we all had nearly identical stories. Each of us had been misled into paying thousands more than we agreed to. I eventually spoke to Jackie again, and she suddenly "had no memory" of the $2,000 deal she offered me. She lied and said I had chosen the $4,700 plan. She passed me off to her supervisor, Catherine, who claimed the spa "doesn't do refunds, only exchanges." Which they NEVER mentioned during the sale. It is so so obvious that this business purposely tries to trick and scam people into these plans. Catherine also claimed there are cameras and recordings that could verify what happened, and she promised to review them and call me the next day. It's been days, and I've heard nothing back. After talking to other customers, it's clear that Ben's Beauty Spa is running a manipulative and unethical operation. They use high-pressure tactics, hide true prices, make verbal promises they don't honor, and then refuse to issue refunds once the truth comes out. The "discount" they advertise on Facebook is just a bait-and-switch tactic to upsell thousands of dollars in overpriced products and treatments. I'm sharing this because I don't want anyone else to go through the same experience. Please do not come to this place - and if you do, please read every single document before signing or initialing anything and don't trust their verbal promises. Also, do not buy any of their packages. I plan to report this business to consumer protection agencies and explore legal options, because no honest spa should treat customers this way.
