Well, we have visited here several times over maybe 10 year or so. While travel through the area. I'm not sure if the same people work or own this location or not over all these years. But I will say this - our meals have always been good and hot. Now I will also share this - I always get the Shrimp Fried Rice and the wifey always gets the Beef, Rice and broccoli. So I hope that if you're hungry and running up or down Route 301, you'll give Benny's a try. read more

Been eating here for about 15 years id say. The majority of those times were as a kid and when my wife and I went on leave to visit family. Over those times they have been pretty good. Granted there have been times where Id put it at like a 2-3 star. Got it today though, and the sesame chicken and wonton soup were great, my wifes steak and cheese was not as fresh though. read more

Not sure why I've never rated Benny's before but lately I have been pretty impressed with the food quality. Service has always been amazing. The owners are super friendly and service is always quick. Lately my go to has been sweet and sour chicken and the pork fried rice. The pork fried rice is probably my fav from all of the local KG Chinese restaurants. Sweet and sour chicken has the perfect batter to chicken ratio. My kiddo loves their chicken with broccoli as well as fried dumplings. I need to branch out and try more options. read more

The food was average. Though it likely is the best of King George. I did a takeaway order, so I can't comment on the service or ambiance. I had fried dumplings that were ok, wanton soup that was good, and shrimp in lobster sauce that was ok. I will probably return here next time I'm visiting relatives in the area. read more

UPDATE: I removed a star The only reason I'm trying again is that my husband requested a chance to try it. We got a large wonton soup, Kung pow and bourbon chicken. This has cemented my original experience. The bourbon chicken was the same dried up jerky I had 9 months ago, the egg roll was DRY & DISGUSTING. Husband wasn't impressed with the old Kung pow. The wonton soup wasn't even edible. ------------- I'll give two stars only because I can't review the whole place on one meal. However.... Went in at 3pm Tuesday I ordered to go and left a tip to ensure prompt service even though ordering to go. I purchased the bourbon chicken and the only two choices for a side are white or fried rice, I usually opt for mixed veggies:( Anyhow, the meat is definitely precooked and reheated because it did not have skin and it was dry and hard like jerky. These type of chinese carryout joints are the best. They usually have the normal chinese fare but then they also have other options like hot subs, fried seafood, and the huge chicken wings with mumbo sauce. They also have the half lemonade half iced tea in the big container! read more

This place has pretty good veg spring rolls. Service was excellent, cashier was super nice and polite. The dining area seemed clean. Overall it was a decent experience, however I was underwhelmed by everything else in my party's order. Please let me explain. The shrimp and brocolli was decent, but really could have used a tad more heat. Some more chili and garlic.. maybe anise could have gone a long way. The Kung Pao Shrimp seemed a little watered down from what im used to... the veggies were a great addition, but made the shrimp seem to be invisible... it was more of a veggie dish with shrimp tossed in. My vegetable.lo mein could have been cooked a little less. The noodles were very very tender. I know everyone makes noodles different, but I really cant recall ever having lo mein this close to being soggy. Nothing hits the spot like sticky almost oily lo mein just dripping with flavors from the veggies and spices.... which unfortunately did not happen here. Perhaps this is just one of the places you shoud visit further feom closing time.. I might give it another shot one day.. like I said.. service was great. read more

My family and I were driving home from Raleigh to Baltimore. We were sitting on Route 301, waiting to cross the bridge. In 2 hours we moved a total of 40 feet. Everyone was getting hungry, so we decided to pull into this plaza and grab a bite. I was in the mood for a sandwich, but my family wanted noodles. We thought that Benny's, having both, was a good compromise and could accommodate everyone. We ordered wonton soup, shrimp lo mein, and a cheesesteak and fries, as well as their homemade sweet tea and lemonade. The prices were fair, and the portions were decent. I did notice my cheesesteak had what may have been a hair in it, but I decided to look past it as I know beef can flake off and look like hair. My daughter ate three bites of her lo mein, and then said she didn't like it. My wife ate a significant portion of her wonton soup, but had to stop as she said the broth tasted "off." With traffic better, we decided to get back on the road. The staff at Benny's was incredibly helpful and friendly. About an hour later, all three of us started not feeling well. We ended up spending the remaining three hours back stopping at various places to get sick. My daughter was able to fall asleep that night (likely because she ate the least), but my wife was up all night sick, and wasn't able to hold anything down the entire next day. I've gotten food poisoning before, so I'm thinking that's what this was. If you go, you'll have incredible service and drinks. Unfortunately, we left all feeling under the weather for the next day. We will give them another shot on the next trip down, though, to see if things have improved. read more

I'm so sad I could cry. I just moved to the area and I've been looking for sushi someone said that this place was pretty good. I don't know who I should be more angry at, the person that said it was good or the actual place. I ordered shrimp tempura and believe me! What they serve is NOT shrimp tempura. What I got was a frozen shrimp wrapped in lettuce and chewy seaweed that should never be considered a sushi roll... The tuna roll had absolutely no flavor. So bland. And the combination rice. The word bland has more flavor in it than the actual food. It sucks Bc I really want a place to order from... well. On to the next place. Still super sad. Worse $22 I've spent. Idk if I should continue eating it or give it to my doggies. Sorry. But I just want some good sushi.... read more

We ordered their pork lo mein and general tso's chicken dinner combo--it was amazing. I bit into the egg roll that came w the dinner combo and immediately decided to write a review it was that good. This place has seriously gone in the toilet. Came here today for lunch with my daughter. She ordered the wonton soup because she had not been feeling well. I ordered the chicken lo mein lunch special. It was awful. My "fried rice" was tasteless yellow rice with onions. That's it. My lo mein was equally disappointing with no flavor at all. I have no idea what they did to make Chinese food be so bland...I used 5 packs of soy sauce and then said to hell with it and threw it all away. I should have asked for a refund but between the bad food, my daughter not feeling well and the fact that it was about 95° IN THE DINING AREA, we just wanted to leave. Outstanding food! The Kung Pao Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, and Chicken & Vegetables were fresh and very tasty. The veggies were all high quality, fresh, and cooked to perfection! Kids loved it! The best thing in laplata as far as "Carry Out" is concerned. Food is always superb. Staff always friendly and definitely accommodating.

Just go to Jin Express or Hunan Cafe if you want "Chinese" food. The chicken was dry and hard and the rice was cold.

I love Benny's! Their food is delicious and well priced. I especially enjoy the sushi.
