We came in here after noticing that thelr fried rice was brown indicating a good sign for us in the typical sense but we were wrong. This was our first time trying this place, so we ate inside. As indicated in other reviews the appearance of the restaurant is a bit rundown. But the food is what we were looking for. Our go to order was steamed dumplings, General Tsos lunch combos with lomein pepper steak and Szechwan pork, and pork fried rice with extra onions wonton soups and the combos that my mom and sister had came with an egg roll the flavor of the General Tsos was ok mom's pepper steak was cold but decent flavor my Szechwan pork was okay but it was the first version I had with baby corn I am not a fan of baby corn and also although these items indicated they were spicy they were not and my stomach hurt afterwards. This is a family owned restaurant, and the owners are very friendly and always willing to please. While the interior is simple, the reality is in such a small town, small businesses struggle to maintain the extras. Their food portions are GENEROUS, taste great compared to any other Chinese food or most restaurant options in the area, and the price is worth the value. read more

The food might be good if you have never had Chinese food. Otherwise, it is pretty bad. The pork with garlic sauce was some broccoli, mushroom, and corn with a little bit of pork fat in some brown sauce. I showed the waitress of what pork with garlic sauce is supposed to look like (including lots of real pork). She told me that it is all different, which I know is not true, and that if I want real pork with garlic sauce, I have to go to China. That is nice, but I was in Bowling Green...so I guess I am out of luck. The kung pao chicken was some mess with orange sauce on it and a spoon of peanuts dumped on top. read more

On a road trip we swung over here for a quick lunch. We loved the Chinese food that we ordered (Chicken Li Mein, Singapore Chow Mei Fun, vegetable tofu soup). Most importantly our picky little ones said the lo mein was "awesome". Staff was so friendly. We will stop by next time. read more

Ok so I'm usually not angry about food because it's just food but this was insane. I ordered two poopoo platters thinking this would be more than enough food for three people along with rice and lo mein. Welp, the food came, the spring rolls were grease sponges, the beef on a stick was beef jerky on a stick, there were Tyson fried chicken wing drumsticks only , and the lo mein tasted like plastic. We sat there and said collectively, this was the worst food we have ever had. So I called back and got the female Owner who told me to bring the food back into her. This isn't legal due to health codes, so I said no. She argued with me for ten minutes about how people just try to get free food which is insane to me because it was awful. Wow! The food was great this time....we have lived here for 5 years, next month. We have ate here maybe 3 times in the past and we hated it! Every time my family would come in town they would beg me to try it again and I refused. Some friends of mine just moved here and tried it and said that they enjoyed it so we decided to give it one more try. I was sick so all I got was soup but my husband got the generals chicken combo and it was delicious! I needed up eating half of it. Whatever you maybe doing new China Inn, keep it up. The food here has gotten worse over the last year or so. I don't know what the issue is, but I will not be eating here anymore. I am a local and really loved having a Chinese restaurant close by, but I am no longer a fan of this place. The food was dry and cool. And the service was pitiful. I'd like to start out by saying that I've never wrote a review, good or bad. But I feel so compelled to in this case. If I could give negative stars I would. I've been getting food here once to twice per week for quite a while. For my girlfriend and myself. Roughly $120 per month for the past few months. I order the same thing every time. General tso chicken with white meat only. What upset me today is when I called around 2 pm I asked if there was a lunch special. The guy over the phone said yes. I told him what I wanted and then I drove to pick it up. I get there, normal price. ...ooook. At this point I'm starving. I get the food. Take it home. Eat two or three bites and its stringy and undercooked. I called in. Asked to speak to a manager. Explained both of my isuses 1. Being lied to about the lunch special price. 2. The undercooked chicken. They explained that there would be some new chicken brought out to me. Great.. I hang up the phone. Minute or two later, I get a phone call. My dad is bringing the new food to u. But he needs you to send the old food back with us. In my mind I'm thinking Serv-safe will not like this one. I explain that I will not be doing so. Because it is illegal. I can hear the lady who I expect to be the mother of this family ran establishment talking about how people want things for free ( mind you I spend about $120 a month there). She then says I was going to give u free food but now I'm not. Hangs up the phone. So I get in my truck. Go up there. The young boy spoke in another language not English about who I was. And while there was 3 tables seated in the back and one customer standing next to me this lady started yelling at me about this whole situation. I told her not to yell at me and at this point I just want my money back. Only After having to threaten to post this review and contact serve-safe, which is my next move did I get my money back. Up until now I loved this place. Loved the food. But when I'm this frequent of a customer and they make a mistake like this and can't even fix it for me I get pretty upset. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! You have been warned. I didn't listen to the warning I was given. I was overcharged as was everyone who called on the phone to complain during my short stay. My broccoli with garlic sauce wasn't even cooked all the way through. The broccoli was old and raw and the sauce was painfully thin but not horrible in taste although there was no spice after I asked for extra spicy. Strange the food was raw considering how long it took. The interior is very dark for a reason. My shoes literally stuck to the floor. The floor is gooey. I am not exaggerating. Your shoes will sink into the floor and stick. There was a woman yelling in Chinese LOUDLY the entire time I was there. I am shocked this place has any business at all or hasn't been closed down. Needless to say mine was takeout because if I had been served in the restaurant I would have asked for my money back and went to Subway. So few restaurants in BG but this is a hell no. To top it all off (and really quite funny considering) my fortune cookie had no writing on it...it was blank. LOL It was the best part of the meal. This is my first restaurant review ever.
