This place is my favorite Chinese restaurant in King George. The honey chicken, coconut chicken and crab rangoon are my go to's.

Jin Express has been a tradition for us for years. Before we moved a couple of hours away, this was our go-to Chinese restaurant, and every time we're back in the King George area, it's one of the first places we plan to visit. The biggest draw is their unique lunch buffet. Instead of walking back for multiple plates, you get one large takeout container and fill it with whatever you want. As of our visit, it's $12.99 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and it's still one of the better lunch deals around. While prices have increased over the years, I'm happy to say the food has remained consistently good. The reason I keep coming back is the Coconut Chicken. I've searched for this dish at other Chinese restaurants and have never found one that compares. It's breaded chicken cutlets topped with a sweet coconut sauce that's simple but incredibly addictive. If it's on the buffet, don't skip it. There are plenty of options to choose from, and the buffet was continuously being refilled throughout our visit despite a steady stream of customers. The Honey Chicken was another favorite, full of flavor, and I also really enjoyed the rice noodles. The General Tso's Chicken tasted great but definitely has a bit more kick than some restaurants, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to spice. Not everything was perfect. The fried rice and lo mein were the weakest items for me because they lacked the seasoning and flavor that the other dishes had. The cream cheese wontons were crispy, but they were mostly wrapper with very little filling. On the other hand, the pork egg rolls were delicious and had a great crunch. The dining room was clean, the buffet was well maintained, and everyone working there was friendly and efficient. We've honestly never explored much of the regular menu because the lunch buffet keeps pulling us back every visit. If you're looking for a reliable Chinese lunch spot in King George with plenty of variety and a unique buffet concept, Jin Express is absolutely worth trying. And if you're anything like me, you'll probably end up making the Coconut Chicken the first thing you grab every time. read more

I was really looking forward to trying a new Chinese restaurant but this kinda let me down. It wasn't horrible but I wasn't blown away. The 4.2 star rating that Jin carries would have believe otherwise. I ordered quite the smorgasbord; the tangy spicy dumplings, shrimp egg foo young, crab Ragoon, regular egg rolls, chicken wings, and general tso chicken with the fried rice. The dumplings, I really enjoyed, not too spicy but they were all stuck together. The shrimp egg foo young wasn't really seasoned that well, but I also enjoyed that for the most part. They definitely loaded the egg foo young with plenty of shrimp. The gravy that accompanies it was tasty. It just was missing something.. The crab ragoon was simply crab ragoon. The filling was tasty and they were fried nice and hard Egg rolls were ok, nothing to right home about. Chicken was definitely a let down. They have this weird seasoning that overpowers the chicken severely. The General chicken was also very odd tasting. The chicken just had a weird flavor and aftertaste. The fried rice wasn't bad at all. Soooo overall I gave this experience a 5/10. Probably won't return unfortunately. read more

The buffet was good but the fried rice had no flavor and the whole buffet could have been warmer and missed the hitachi chicken they occasionally have! Good deal for the price and my daughter loved the rice noodles! read more

I stopped by to get some food the guy who took the order was rude he also rung up my order form a calculator and charged sales tax I paid cash and he just put the money in the register, therefore there is no proof that I ever paid the sales tax, which means they're not paying to the state. I feel if I'm paying the sales tax on something that should at least go to the proper place. I still will come back, but I'm very cautious now. read more

Fast service. Ordered spicy tangy dumplings and steamed pork dumplings. Spicy ones were more like wontons and had a red pepper flake broth. Plenty of broth/sauce; I used it for the mild dumplings too. Very light texture; not too chewy. Would come back if in the area. read more

Nice Chinese takeout and eat in option in Dahlgren. Good value and fresh lunch buffet takeout bar during the week for a quick pickup lunch rush. My son also loves their very flavorful pan fried dumpling dish which I pick up for him for dinner sometimes. The dipping sauce is also very tasty. read more

Quick and simple. I like their fried rice or Lo Mein (spicy). The extra heat puts an excellent twist on the dish.

This place is nice, clean and friendly services. Price is not really expensive but depends on what you order. I have not seen this place dirty anytime of the years I have been getting food from this place. They are located ay really good location and accessible. Their menu has a lot to offer. It's a very good Chinese takeout. Potion were really big. Our dinner combo weight like 2+ lbs and tasted really good. Toke this road because of traffic on I95, glad we get to try this. Dahlgren is ever expanding as evidenced by a whole new wave of restaurants. The latest entry of Jin Express now brings the total number of Chinese restaurants in the immediate area to three. While that may sound like stiff competition in this tiny hamlet, Jin is easily the best of the three so it should stand to do pretty well. Even among restaurants over all in this area, this place is in my top three. The setup is straightforward enough, reminiscent of a mall food court with the electronic menu listing the specials and showing photos of the entrees. All of the photos are for the dinners though. In the middle, you can take advantage of the lunch specials. The lunches range in price from $5.25-$5.75 and include fried rice, egg roll, and a fortune cookie; sodas are extra. I went with the Kung Pao Chicken lunch special ($5.75) and really enjoyed it. There was a nice balance of flavor and seasoning which was so refreshing. The vegetables had great texture and were cut uniformly. There were plenty of vegetables too, so the dish may have even been healthy. The sauce was only a touch spicy though, but it did a fairly good job of binding the ingredients together in a flavorful way. The fried rice was decent too. All around, great lunch for the area. The folks were really friendly here too, so it's definitely the kind of place you want to come back to. Recommend. read more

This is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant in this area. The staff there are super friendly and the food is of great quality. They offer a lunch buffet during the week that makes getting a lunch quick and easy. Definitely recommend trying Jin Express if you're in the area. read more

Buffet is minimal but not terrible for 9.99! Steam table could be turned up to keep food hotter. Asked for ice abd they don't provide. Soda case sodas not cold enough. Would I return..YES but order from menu next time read more

five stars for the friendliness and cleanliness of jin express -- not to mention plentiful parking and easy to find location (by Food Lion & Domino's). sorry, i can only give it three stars for the food, because it doesn't meet my chinese food liking---nothing in the kg/fxbg/norva has met that---but it's decent. husband loves the $5.95 buffet available Monday - Friday (except Holidays). The rice noodles are his favorite (with a wonderful flavor of MSG) -- he also enjoys peppered chicken, kung pao chicken, sesame chicken, chicken broccoli. most people walking up to (then turned around after seeing there was no buffet available today -- veterans day) or into all wanted the buffet and wondered where the buffet was. a few left without ordering, others ordered something and left back for work. went there today to try it for myself. sadly no buffet, but that was fine, we ordered some lunch specials. a lunch special comes with entree, fried rice, and egg roll. ORDERED singapore rice noodles (same way they make it for the buffet) noodles were thin, soft, and white. the noodles reminded me of pancit noodles, but they were white and a bit less flavorful than pancit. there was no meat in this order, but we asked for that...i'm sure it would have tasted good a meat -- i would have chosen shrimp or chicken. veggies were nice...not too over powering -- napa cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots. they also added egg into the noodles (fried/scrambled). seasame chicken lunch special battered, deep fried and covered in a thick sauce (somewhat of a thick sweet soy base) topped with seasame seeds. nice flavor, meat was tender and batter wasn't undercooked or gooey. pork with string beans lunch special pork slices with green beans sauteed in a soy sauce based sauce. thankfully this wasn't smothered with typical brown sauces i've found at chinese restaurants in fxbg area. pork had a nice flavor and was tender. fried rice orange-brown color, carrots & peas mixed in, soy base flavoring. it wasn't terrible, but it's decent --although i didn't enjoy it. perhaps next time i'll ask for white rice substitution. egg roll mostly veggies, with a bit of roast pork bits mixed it. rolled in a thick wrapper. didn't enjoy it. i don't see myself going back here when i'm looking for a place to eat, but i can understand why people love it here. it meets the standards of other chinese eateries in the kg/fxbg area. buffet is their crowd pleaser -- you can't beat a container full of your favorite foods for $5.95 "they don't even weigh it...you can load it all the way up as long as your container closes!" (hubby likes a deal) if i find myself back here...i want to try the seafood pan fried noodle (that's one of my staples) and if it's good...i'll be back for it continually. read more

We ordered takeout off their lunch specials. They include an egg roll which was not my favorite I've had but good. We ordered the sesame chicken and shrimp with vegetables. Both items were good, the only thing I did not care for is the takeout container is a single bowl and thus the sauce soaked the rice thoroughly. Super fast and friendly service. read more

I'm only basing this review on their dumplings. They were made from rice flour, therefore not doughy and heavy. Very light and flavorful.

Reading the past reviews I feel like asking these people where the heck have you eaten Chinese food before if you think this place has great Chinese food!!! This has got to be the worst place so far that I've eaten Chinese food and I've eaten a lot of Chinese food. My maiden name is Ting so I should know a thing or two about Chinese food. I came here yesterday afternoon at around 3 after having fasted since 7 the previous night for a blood test on base. Therefore, by the time I got to eat I was willing to eat anywhere. I am not adversed to trying new places and since I yelp, I always check yelp for reviews so I don't go into a place blind. After reading the glowing yelp reviews my husband and I went to try it. I ordered the house special fried rice and fried dumplings. The fried rice was horrible. The beef was grey in color, I'm guessing because it was old, the chicken was dry, and the shrimp was gummy and had a frozen taste to them, the peas were discolored and gritty and the rice had so much soy sauce it was so salty. The fried dumplings were soggy probably because they were old once again, the meat inside was so Brown and what ever sauce they used to marinate the meat inside was super sweet along with the dipping sauce. I ate one dumpling and threw the rest away. I really hate to waste food and money, but it was that horrible. My husband had the sweet sour chicken which I also tried. It had more breading then chicken and the chicken it did have was dry, probably the same chunk of chicken they use for the fried rice, and the sweet and sour sauce was more sweet then anything. Everything they made had an overly sweet taste to it. They only thing that was good here were the drinks, but that is probably because it is bottled and bought in. My husband had this delicious berry water. Good thing because you will need something to wash down the horrible food. As far as cleanliness goes if I were to judge it by the sticky soy sauce and mustered packets I would also give their cleanliness a fail as well. This place was such a let down that I had to go across to McDonalds to get a happy meal to be satisfied. Mainly I needed the french fries for the salt as everything at Jin Express was so sweet, I needed something opposite to get the sweetness out of my mouth. read more

Clean interior with freshly installed everything. Plenty of room to sit and its quiet enough to talk. No annoying music playing. Service is fast and friendly. No BS like some lower standards chinese-food places. Food is brought out to you when it's ready. Food is served in a heaping bowl. Almost too much food but just ask for a lid and you're good to go, saving the rest for later. No comparison as far as local Chinese food. read more

Five stars based on location, is this the best Chinese ever? No, but what we ordered was really good. We tried two other places for Chinese in the area and they were awful, one scarred me for life. So we were glad to find a place we could get our take out fix from. I had the General Tso's tofu and my husband had the shrimp and broccoli, we shared spring rolls and everything was good...
