We have used Bennett Electric twice now at our house, and both times they have done exceptional work at a very good price. From the estimate to the finish of the job, Chris and his guys are friendly, professional, courteous, and communicative. It's refreshing when you find a company who cares about their work and their customers. Job 1: They crawled halfway across our house, through our rat maze of an attic, to install a hanging light in a vaulted ceiling over our pool table. There was no previous light or even any power there, and they got it installed with a switch in the wall and it looks & works perfect. Job 2: I called 2 of Tesla's "authorized installers" to have my 80 amp wall charger installed. The first said it couldn't be done without changing my whole house panel (!), and the second said yes, but it would cost $1300. Then I remembered the great job Bennett had done on the light and called Chris. Glad I did! He was there the next day for an estimate, and 4 days later it was installed for less than 1/2 the price quoted by the second place. As usual, they did a great job and were sure to doublecheck exactly where I wanted it placed, how I wanted the conduit run, etc. Two thumbs up and five stars for Bennett Electric. read more

Don't be surprised if you can't get a hold of this company. I called Bennett Electric recently many times and no one answered the phone during the weekday or the phone mailbox was "full". Disappointing as they had done a great job for me in the past and I had looked to have them do another job. read more

I had already paid one electrician several months back to fix my doorbell which never quite had the correct or loud enough "ding dong" .So I thought it was a wiring issue. Chris made a couple of great conclusions and without having to crawl up in the attic ...he finally got my doorbell to work....it had to do with an outside doorbell that had been installed years ago. Chris Bennett knows electricity plus he drives a classic Datsun 240Z - nuff said. Chris came over to my house twice to bid and discuss the scope of the project over a 6 month period as we were preparing for a complete attic overhaul: new insulation, rodent proofing, attic fan and all new light fixtures throughout the house. Our house was built in 1960 and had no ceiling lights in any of the rooms except the remodeled kitchen. We had new canning lights put in our living room and master bedroom, new ceiling lights in our kids bedroom and office, new dining light installed in kitchen, plus all new LED canning lights swapped out in existing kitchen lights. Electrical work is pricey and Bennett still came in under a couple other quotes. Work was done in one day! His crew were solid professionals. Worth every penny. Chris, the owner, came to my house to give an estimate for installing 5 ceiling fans and some misc electrical stuff. He was on time, courteous and has a great sense of humor(which helps when you're in the middle of a remodel). He gave us a great estimate and came out about a week later. James, his coworker, came out to do the work. James was also courteous and very professional. He did an amazing job with everything. And he was done quickly without compromising the work. This is a FIRST CLASS electrical contractor. We first met Chris, the owner, when he was with another contractor, who retired and sold him the business. Very pleased with his quick diagnosis of a failed transformer in our track lighting system. He gave us some options to convert to LED (which we did), and quoted us a reasonable price for this repair. His crew arrived a few minutes late because of traffic, BUT....they called us to let us know!! Really!! In and out, Fixed and we are happy. I will recommend Bennett highly. read more

I cant say enough good things about Bennett Electric!! James and Ernest replaced all of the LED trim in my condo some of which were 17 feet high. They were prompt, courteous, reliable, and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They paid special attention to detail and placed runners throughout my house to make sure not to mark up the floors with their ladders and wiped down every fixture leaving them fingerprint free! I definitely recommend them. Chris was very knowledgeable, courteous, honest and punctual when he gave me an estimate. Ernest the installer of our whole house fan did a great job. He was also courteous, knowledgeable, honest and punctual. He made sure he cleaned up after he was done and was great at explaining the system. The whole house fan is just amazing. Since installing the unit we do not have to use the air conditioning to cool the house down in the evenings. We just turn the whole house fan on and it cools the house down to 72 degrees, making it comfortable to sleep. With the A/C before we would have it on and as soon as we turn it off before going to bed the house would heat up again. Everyone should get a whole house fan installed, especially by Mulder Electric. read more

I used Mulder Electric 15 years ago to install some exterior lights. The owner performed the work himself, and I was extremely satisfied with his promptness, the quality of the work, and the price, which I thought was completely fair for 2.5 hours work (5 star rating for that experience). This past week I asked Mulder to come and install two light switches, which were a bit more complicated than a simple DIY job. The owner sent two electricians, Chris and Ernest, who were on-time and did the work in short order exactly to my specifications. They were extremely personable, as well, and they spent around 20-25 minutes doing the job. I was more than satisfied, until I received the bill on the following day in the amount of $120. I questioned the owner, Matt, regarding the expense, $60 per light switch replacement, a job that took way less than an hour. I was told that $120 was their minimum charge for a service call. That was not explained to me when I made the appointment. Stupid me, I should have asked. I figured that prices have changed from 15 years ago, but I was truly shocked at the bill. Next time I will shop 3-4 electricians before scheduling a job. That's usually been my habit in the past, but since I had been very satisfied after my previous experience using Mulder, I didn't expect such a jump in price. Were it not for the charges, I would have given Mulder another 5 star rating. I would advise comparing fees before calling Mulder for any routine work. read more
