They do not do well at supporting patients with sensory issues or dental anxiety, or conditions like TMJ that make dental visits difficult. With new patients they are kinder, but with every visit I have made they have become less supportive and less accommodating. My last cleaning was extremely unpleasant and I was shamed into not taking breaks over the course of multiple procedures and fittings even though holding my jaw open causes my TMJ to flare. Then there's the high-pressure upselling. For several years, the dentists and hygienists at this practice have been trying to get me to buy a dental-grade night guard out of pocket, even though I had an over-the-counter one I had been happy with. I finally agreed because they told me it would help my gums and that I would face severe consequences if I did not "make the investment." I had to pay $750 (!!!) out of pocket. When the night guard arrived, it was so bulky and uncomfortable that I could not get a good night's sleep in it and I woke in the morning with severe jaw pain on both sides of my jaw. I went back to have it adjusted and suddenly I was being told that having a night guard means sleeping with your mouth open and accepting dry mouth, that jaw pain often gets worse at first, and that I would have to accept some bad sleep in order to become accustomed to the night guard. I cannot stress enough that this was NOT disclosed to me prior to when I made the purchase. Since the practice knew about my sensory and dental anxiety issues, I feel strongly that they should have talked to me about what the night guard would be like before pushing me to buy it. When I explained the above, the practice offered me only a partial refund, which would mean that I spent hundreds of dollars on nothing. I feel my trust was taken advantage of and I would encourage others to look for a different practice.

We had high hopes for this dental practice, especially since we had almost a six month. Wait to get…read morein, but our experience was frustrating and disappointing. I scheduled back-to-back appointments for my husband and I, fully transparent about the fact that we would have our toddler with us. Was told that would not be an issue! My appointment was for 8 o'clock and my husband's appointment was set for 8:30. They came out to get him at 9. When my husband expressed concern about bringing our toddler back, without my appointment being done, he was told it would be fine. However, still feeling uncomfortable, he chose to reschedule--and was initially told that was acceptable. When I came out my appointment at 9:15, and didn't see my husband in the waiting room I inquired where he was? The receptionist told me that he had left because he did not want to bring the toddler back with him and that he can reschedule. When I inquired about whether or not he could pop back up now, since it was only 915, I was told no that his appointment was slated to end at 9:30 (even though he had just left the waiting area less than 15 minutes previously). The receptionist offered an appointment for Tuesday, and I said I could not accept it without conferring with him. When I got to the car and he said it would be OK, I called up to the desk and set the appointment. No issues. What we didn't expect was to have the new appointment canceled minutes after via text with the explanation that "Dr. Eric was unhappy that we lost an hour appointment on our schedule this morning" and that they needed to accommodate other patients on their waiting list instead. I did call and speak with the office manager, who basically informed me that I did not schedule back to back appointments instead, I scheduled staggered appointments which is different. She told me that Dr. Eric heard my husband say he was going to reschedule and heard the whole conversation and it was his call to make. As I explained to the office manager, when I spoke to the doctor at the end of my appointment, he made no mention he wasn't going to see my husband. I know it's a moot point because we won't be continuing with them anyway due to moving, but still--their response felt unnecessarily punitive. While we understand the importance of keeping a full schedule, patient comfort and flexibility should also be prioritized. Had we been informed upfront that rescheduling could result in cancellation, we would have made a more informed decision. Instead, we were left feeling dismissed rather than valued as patients. Professionalism and understanding go a long way in healthcare. Sadly, this experience left us questioning whether patient care is truly the priority here.

Thank you for your response. I would just like to clarify a few things because I believe there is…read moresome misunderstanding regarding what actually happened. First, there were no multiple text reminders as stated in your message. Also, I have no issue with your policy of not scheduling multiple family members on the same day. That was never the concern I raised. My concern is specifically about the communication and customer service I have repeatedly experienced from the front desk. I normally call several days in advance sometimes even a week ahead to reschedule or adjust appointments when necessary. On this particular occasion, my son had an oncology appointment, and I called three days before our scheduled appointment to explain the situation and make an adjustment. Unfortunately, I was not given a meaningful opportunity to explain my concern or properly address the scheduling issue. This has not been an isolated experience. I have encountered similar communication problems more than once, twice, or even three times. That repeated experience is what led me to raise the concern in the first place. I also want to clarify your statement that we called after the appointment time. I personally called three days before the appointment. Because I was unable to properly address the matter with the front desk at that time, my husband later called on the day of the appointment. I have documentation showing that I called your office three days beforehand, and I am happy to provide it if necessary. Based on your response, it appears that the information communicated to you about what happened may not have included my earlier attempt to contact the office. That communication issue is actually part of the concern I was trying to bring to your attention. I fully understand that your office expects patients to respect its time, and I agree. At the same time, patients should also be given an opportunity to communicate legitimate scheduling issues and should be treated respectfully when doing so. Thank you for your response. I simply wanted to make sure the facts were clear.
