My daughter is 13, and I'm encouraging her independence, so when she preferred to go back alone, I waited in the lobby. The hygienist called her in, clearly aware I was her parent. After the cleaning, the dentist came in (walking right past me in the waiting area) to complete the exam and review the X-rays. It was determined my daughter had a cavity. At no point did either the hygienist or dentist speak with me directly. Instead, paperwork was handed off to the receptionist, who briefly told me my daughter would need to see a different dentist and gave a referral. That was the entirety of the communication. I chose not to follow their recommendation and instead sought care with another provider where communication was prioritized and we felt more supported. Clear communication is essential in healthcare, especially when treating children. Unfortunately, this office fell short. I would not recommend.

I put it in my phone calendar and they even write us a card for appointment reminder. We drive 45 minutes to the appointment and their staff said we have no appointments. They claimed it's my fault because I did not confirm my appointment via text confirmation which I did not see. I did not get a call or text stating my appointment is cancelled. They want us to reschedule my son appointment after I took off classes and we drive 46 minutes to get his teeth cleaned. The shout at me and point the finger and tell me to get out if not she call the police. I never experienced anything like this ever in my life. They claim my son and I was rude and refuse to serve us again. Even if they pay us to come back to them I will never use them for a dentist. All they know how to do is blame other people rather I'm trying to fix the problem or issue their company had. They also claim a sign a consent to cancel my appointment. If I don't confirm, I don't remember signing anything like that.

I finally asked for recommendations of a PEDIATRIC Dentist and was sent to Tendercare. Ever since then, (approximately 10 years now), I have taken my boys to TenderCare. The staff is friendly and the doctor who was there (Dr. Kim), was awesome. I like the new Dr as well but Dr. Kim definitely made an impression on my boys and I. I recommend Tendercare to anyone looking for a friendly, and great place to take their kids for all dental needs.

I live over an hour away from this place. Does that tell you anything? I think the staff is wonderful with the kids. They laid the groundwork with my son to not have a fear of the dentist and has kept his teeth in great shape despite his addiction to marshmallows (prizes for potty training). The dentists are grads from UPENN (currently the top dental school if not one of the top 3) and everyone we have worked (great hygienists and assistants) with have made this place awesome- Which is more than I can say about those Chain Pediatric dental offices that employ dentists who are not pediatric dentists at all..... Unlike at KOOL smiles or whatever it is called, they wont "YELL" at you child to calm them down by scaring them. They use this awesome reward system (token to get a prize for being good) at the end to pick a toy in one of the dispensers. ALSO, the cute ship for kids to play in at the corner of the waiting room - PERFECT. Kept my kids busy for my 5 min wait (which is forever in kid time) As for scheduling, I don't mind scheduling in advance for the appointments I need (Sorry, Angela C.), but when I've needed to reschedule, they were fine with it as long as it wasn't a last-minute thing (I changed it a week or two out). My son hasn't needed it yet, but they offer DVDs for kids to watch during their procedure...(healthy teeth thanks to this place) The office is a building shared with an orthodontist on the other side (uhm.. can we say perfect transition to the tween years?) the ONLY drawback is the distance... but it is worth it for us.

I have nothing but great things to say about this place. We had to make a change from Fushion…read moredental as they no longer had a pediatric dentist and a quick google search brought me here. The facility is always clean and the staff is pleasant and accommodating. Their services are automated which makes it easier on me as a parent. You have the option of filling out intake forms from your phone before arrival as a well. They have iPads in the waiting area and are always playing the latest and greatest kid movies on their numerous screens. They even go as far as having screen above the service chairs and for kids that can be a bit finicky in the chair I'm sure this helps a great deal. The staff are always patient with my babies, more recently the kids had to get X-rays of their teeth and they're always so understanding of their inability to keep the guard in for the pictures. Going as far as to reassure them even when they're unable to get the X-rays needed. Thanks for helping me keep my kids mouths fresh guys :o).

Get taken to a room. Wait. She comes back and says there's paperwork for the cleaning. Why wasn't it given to me when we checked in? Several months later, I received an additional bill for the added Xrays. I called the office to explain that I was told I would not be billed and they confirmed before my visit with the insurance company that both xrays were covered. Employee advised that the insurance company must have wrongly told their employee who checked my coverage prior to my visit. I contacted my Insurance company who checked their records/call logs-recordings and provided me a letter stating no one from the dentist office called prior to my visit to verify coverage. To top it off, I just found out Gentle Family Dentistry sent the bill to collections. I USE TO Think so highly of this business.
