The last time I had seen a dentist they were still carving dentures out of wood. 7+ decades in, I thought it a good idea to get my snags looked at to see if they'll get me over the finish line. I had no frame of reference in finding a dentist, so I recalled the TV commercials I'd seen about Edgewater Dental Arts. Gave them a call, and went in. From the jump everyone was great. I told Doctor Cutting what I was trying to accomplish, and that I was concerned about cost. They did the full workup and treatment plan. Holy S*it. What was recommended was pricey. But it accurately reflected what was needed. Called my CFP, pulled some retirement funds, and took the plunge. I now have a full upper arch of crowns, and the first smile I've been proud of in 50 years. Dr Cutting, Brooke, Kim, Kelsey (sorry if I missed anyone) have made for an outstanding experience. I have never had a dental staff cater to my wants and my needs, mentally or emotionally. Dr. Wood, Stephanie, Angela, and all staff have not only made it possible for me to have the work I need done, but they have created a loving and accepting environment about me as the patient. They dont deserve my drama; but they have never made me feel less for my fears, only lifted me up and gave the power back to me that I never knew I had. Helping me focus on the outcome instead of the fear. They make me want to keep going back. And that's a HUGE deal for someone who has suffered so much trauma and judgment from other offices. My appointment was for 11am, I arrived a few minutes early to get through the paperwork. Moments after completing it, I was called to the back where they took x-rays and then got me settled in a room. Dr. Martin is the primary dentist and he's got decades of experience - practiced in D.C. for about 15 years before he opened his current practice and location 8 years ago. I found him to be professional but also friendly and personable. The office staff are polite and efficient as they explained to me how the appointments are held and what I owed after insurance coverage. All in all, it was a pleasant experience; I was out of there 1 hour and 15 minutes after I walked in, got x-rays and a cleaning - now that's what I'm looking for, fast and professional. One of my pet peeves is having an appointment somewhere, showing up and having to wait extra time before I get in the back, then waiting more time to be seen. I'll be back.

This caused a lot of anxiety and hadn't been to the back to the dentist since until today. As for the 5-6 others, it has been 8yrs, I finally just went back. I have only 1 small cavity now that just started to form. Get a copy of your X rays and get a second opinion. There are online services that do that now. Interior design is fantastic, really peaceful environment. They offer teas and water while you are waiting. The modern technology is great to see. My favorite part of my visit was how my technician kept explaining everything to me, it really put me at ease. I am scared of metal on my teeth, I get really uncomfortable at the sensations of any dental work. She made me feel a lot better, reassuring me. When I left, I felt the cost was incredibly fair. The treatment was refreshing and I would recommend in an instant.
