[[HIGHLIGHT]]Well Dr. Weinberg has been with me now for more than half my life.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Having a complex GI problem young it took some time to really figure things out, but I can't say I've ever met a more qualified and compassionate doctor. Comparing him to the head of GI at Cedar Sinai would be a mile above, seeing the doctor at cedars had nothing to do but make things worse to then go back to Weinberg's care. In 2019 he is the reason I'm still alive by knowing what rare GI condition I was suffering from got me to a Mayo Clinic in days with only a few to spare. Weinberg did a commenable job in performing my colonoscopy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He informed my wife of the results, indicating that he removed one small polyp and that "there was nothing to worry about."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I assumed that the polyp was small enough for him to have burned it off as, I believe, he had done in my past colonoscopy. Therefore, [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was surprised when I received a call from someone at the surgery center the next day inquiring on my welfare and advising me that I would hear the results of a biopsy within the next two weeks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Apparently, the polyp was excised rather than burned off as I had assumed. I was even more surprised when I received an email of the pathology report. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then placed a call to Weinberg's office several days ago requesting an explanation of the pathology report. As of this writing, I am still waiting for a return call, and I am very disappointed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. read more

I had an appointment at 10am and got here at 10:05 and was on hold for 7min and they tell me I'm too late to my appointment and have to reschedule. I had all my forms filled out that they requested and no one told me to send them in prior, nor did they email me or call me in advance to let me know. Most drs give you a 15 min grace. My husband is a dr and would never turn a patient around for being 5 min late to their appointment. Will never come back to see a dr like this. read more

If you park in the structure on the top floor, it has direct entrance to the building to the 2nd floor. His office is on the 3rd floor. I highly recommend getting appt in advance. He gets booked up! His medical assistant takes the blood pressure and your weight. He is a good looking doctor which is added bonus, but most of all his bedside manner was great! He has great listening skills. Finally reached a live person today, who quickly transferred me to another person's voicemail, and again no call back. :sigh: I don't really want to write this. Not at all in fact. I actually hate writing things like this. Especially because this is kind of personal, and the reason for writing it could so easily have been avoided. For about 4 years I have been struggling with stomach and intestinal troubles. At the time I was on an HMO plan that really blew. I tried going through my HMO in order to reach Dr. Weinberg. After months of failing to get help from the doctors in the chain (I think it was memorial care medical group) I just gave up and decided to just live with the pain. Fast forward a few years, and I got on my wife's medical plan. (She works for the state, so it is considerably better and a high level PPO to boot.) Ever the studious fellow, I called and confirmed with my insurance that Dr. Weinberg is in fact in the PPO network. I was a little put off by the fact that when I called I was forced to leave a rather impersonal message on an answering machine, but hey I am game to play along. After all the glowing reviews (mostly) here really have me in high hopes that I will finally get a real expert to help me feel better. Of course I saw a couple of others that were pretty scathing but hey, it happens right? So after leaving my message, I got a call back 3 hours later by a woman in a bit of a mad rush (Sorry to say I don't recall the name.) who said she needed my plan # and group number so she could confirm they take my insurance. Of course I mentioned that I had confirmed this, but she said, well sometimes the negotiations meant that they don't even when they say they do. She said, let me get the front office to confirm and I will call you back in 15 minutes. Well. 15 minutes went by. Nothing. The whole day went by. Nothing. The following morning I called again. Nothing. Hey guys, when someone calls a gastroenterologist for an appointment, they are calling FOR A REASON. The reason they are calling is not to be blown off. In my case it is because I have been living with this for years. I actually need help. If I can't get it from you it is okay. But for the love of all that is good at least give me the courtesy of just calling back? At this point don't bother returning my call. I will take my insurance (Which every other doctor I have spoken with has said it is VERY good.) and my fairly significant disposable income and move on to someone else who will at least call me back. Really. I am sorry to have inconvenienced you. To be fair though, go ahead and add a reply here and let me know. Was it that you didn't think you would make enough money from my California Blue Shield PPO? Just too busy? Frankly could care less that people who are calling you might actually need help? Heartburn, Axid relux, GERD...whatever you call this widespread disease it's frustrating and difficult to treat. Many people simply assume it's just the result of overeating or eating too much spicy food. Actually, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition in which the stomach contents (food or liquid) leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus (the tube from the mouth to the stomach). This action can irritate the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms. I was referred to Dr. Weinberg after a cardiologist confirmed that my frequent chest pain was not due to any cardiovascular disease. Not only has Dr. Weinberg gotten this problem under control but he and his staff treat their patients with a high level of care and professionalism. Dr. Weinberg is a heaven send for me and my family. I have been very ill for the past two months with a recurrent antibiotic resistant case of cdiff. He treated me with 2 FMTs and took a personal interest in helping me solve my problem. He was very direct and informative. I set up my procedure and he even provided me the colon prep medicine in office. Day of the procedure he talked to me and asked if I had any questions. Procedure went well with no issues or pain. Happy to say I'm now over 1 year cdiff free thanks to him. My husband was very happy with him as well. He provided information to him as I was still sedated. Some say he doesn't have the best bedside manner but I disagree. He won't hold you hand and baby you, but he is a fantastic Doctor with high success rates with treating cdiff. My appointments with Dr Weinberg are far and away the best doctor's visit I have ever had. I was the only with an appointment at my scheduled time and the wait time was less than five minutes! (I am used to waiting over an hour in a super crowded waiting room). His assistant Elizabeth is always prompt to return calls very quick which is unheard of... Dr. Weinberg is very personable, funny, warm, and made me feel completely at ease. He always spends tons of time to ask how I am doing - looks at new opportunities to minimize my health problems. and knows exactly how to minimize my symptoms. I always ask a million questions and he always takes the time to answer them, and he he goes beyond my expectations - he truly cares about my well being. Three month wait for an appointment as a new patient. On the day of my appointment the procedure went well. On that same day I was informed that I needed a prescription and treatment. However, due to a Negligent Office Staff and incompetent Administrative Operation the Post Procedure treatment and follow up has been an absolutely agonizing experience. Phone calls go unanswered and messages are ignored and without response. The office staff is unorganized and overwhelmed. I have had to go to the office in person on two occasions to ask about the status of my follow up. The first visit I spoke with Dr. Weinberg's assistant, Claudia, who said she would let the doctor know that I was waiting for my prescription and that I should expect it to be delivered to my address. Two weeks went by and nothing changed. My calls to the office went unanswered. I returned to speak with Claudia a second time and she responded as though we had never discussed the matter previously. It has been about 47 days since my procedure and I have yet to get a proper response from the doctors office about my treatment or prescription nor even a legitimate explanation for such a disappointing process. Liked the thoughtful intake services of Elena, friendly fact gathering by Admitting Nurse Joanna, and Procedure Room work by Trista and Lucero. After procedure started, my memory of who did what is blank (as one would expect). Dr W did a fine job explaining procedure, and provided helpful details re findings and excisions. His assistant Robert gave helpful over the phone explanation of findings and future visit set up. Also offered to mail out pathology report for home file. Sorry to say it is not the funnest way to spend a couple days (fasting and then having a Dr W procedure), but Dr W and his office make it as tolerable as possible. Thankfully, drop off and pick up was simple, with Fabia providing a wheel chair ride to car (not driven by me). read more

TOP NOTCH professionalism! Excellent bed-side manner & communication. I was the designated driver for my mom who recently had a procedure done by Dr. Weinberg. He was very thorough & extremely gentle .He followed up with me personally. He answered all our questions which made the whole process easier. His staff, from the front desk check-in, to the post-procedure check-out nurses were also TOP NOTCH, they were both extremely professional, kind, and patient with our questions. Sometime the office staff does not equal the high quality care of a great doctor, but in the case of Dr. Weinberg, his office staff, nurses, front & back are all Amazing. Dr. Weinberg is amazing! After going to countless doctors and them claiming I was just stressed and depressed he actually listened and helped me out! I have a history to stomach problems like IBS and GERD. When booking an appointment with him, i left a message for his assistant and she got back to me in a few hours, it was very easy and i got an appointment for the following week. Dr. Weinberg suggested a lot of tests but once he found out I didn't have health insurance, he worked with me and did the most cost effective tests first. Dr. Weinberg is the most compassionate physician I have ever met. He listens and his bedside manners are impeccable. I have fear of needles, which I told him about. Dr. Weinberg prescribed a numbing cream and he went so far as calling the colonoscopy clinic to find out in which hand the needle was going to be inserted. The intake staff is fabulous. I have seen Dr. Weinberg three times now. A lot of specialists talk down to their patients. Dr. Weinberg does not. He appreciates that I have a pretty extensive education, including medicine, and works with me. I was sent to him by my G.P. because the nausea was unbearable. I have Diabetes (variously diagnosed as Type I AND Type II), Degenerative Disk Disease, chronic sinusitis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, low testosterone, and a hietal hernia. Dr. Weinberg has tried to integrate all of the symptoms, lab tests, and endoscopy data to come up with a treatment plan. I agree with his methodology and I understand his logic. It is rare to find a clinician that still uses his pathophysiology training, but Dr. Weinberg understands all of the side effects of the meds that he has prescribed to me. I am hopeful and will hang in there with him. As far as his bedside manner is concerned, I get along with him just fine. I try to show up for my appointments on time because this important man is very busy and serious about curing people. If some people want to complain that he doesn't stroke their ego then I would say it is their loss. read more

Dr. Weinberg happened to be the GI on-call at Saddleback Memorial Hospital when I (finally) went to the ER with severe abdominal pain. After 7 years of agony, countless specialists, tests, and attempts at managing symptoms, Dr. Weinberg was able to give me the diagnosis I was most fearful of, but needed. He put me at ease, assured me of all the advancements being made in treating my chronic disease, and most importantly, he LISTENED to me. He went over all potential courses of treatment and the viability of each course. Usually, doctors push back at my proactive approach to my personal health and treatment; Dr. Weinberg listened to my concerns and addressed each of them, in turn. He took my personal preferences and lifestyle into account with every recommendation he made, from diet to medications. I was so pleased with a doctor who was both capable of addressing specific health issues, and also treating real whole people, that I continued seeing him despite not having health insurance at the time. It was worth every penny, and he made it reasonably affordable for me. I must also mention Dr. Weinberg's assistant, Elizabeth, who is an absolute gem! I don't think I could have made it through the first year post-diagnosis without her constant help and support. Her diligence in dealing with prescriptions, pharmacies, my insurance company, scheduling my appointments, getting quick recommendations to address minor concerns, etc., astounded me. I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Weinberg. I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease through a blood test and referred to Dr. Weinberg for follow-up and an endoscopy. He is extremely professional, has a wonderful bedside manner and is easy to talk to. I got nervous right before my endoscopy, but he calmed my nerves and the procedure ended up being a piece of cake. I didn't feel or remember a thing! But most importantly, he takes time with you to make sure all your questions are answered! This is critical, especially for someone like me. I joke that I have a medical degree through "google university." Meaning, by the time I visit a doctor, I have done extensive amounts of online research and have usually "self-diagnosed" my condition and any treatment. I'm sure I drive most doctors crazy, but the way I see it, it's my healthcare and I want to make sure all my concerns/questions are answered. So great to have a doctor listen to you and address what you're asking. Had a colonoscopy with him at different location than office. The staff where I had the procedure done were all very kind and everything was done very timely. Dr. Weinberg even apologized for running a little late. So nice to see a business and doctor, especially medical, run so efficiently. They were even handling many patients with the same procedures. Why can't all medical offices realize how much this means to patients? They even did a follow up call the following day. Thanks for making me feel the colonoscopy would be safe and for your good care. (I had concerns about the colonoscopy being done and the colon being perforated. Despite reading some of the negative reviews I have to say I disagree. I made an appointment for a consult with Dr. Weinberg prior to having a routine colonoscopy. He was very personable, informative and very to the point. His staff was courteous and helpful. On the day of my colonoscopy, they were running a few minutes behind but I found the staff to be just as courteous and after the procedure Dr Weinberg told me his findings and I was out of there pretty quickly. My husband saw him 3 years prior for the same procedure and he had only good things to say about Dr Weinberg and his staff. I definitely would recommend him and see him again if I need to. read more

Dr. Weinberg helped me get back on my feet after being hit with a one two punch of intestinal diseases. He got me the correct treatment for my C. Diff virus and put me on a positive treatment for Ulcerative Colitis. Still adjusting to everything, as this all happened out of nowhere. I saw Dr Weinberg 10/23/18 he was very informative and educated. He was also interested in what I was saying not rushing my visit at all. I'm so happy I had that kind of care. Thankfully I didn't need to come back for a follow up after he recommended some OTC medication. The staff is nice too, the MA who roomed me was bubbly and friendly. I didn't catch her name sadly. Oh and the wait was not long at all. My appointment was in the morning, I checked in, sat down, wrote my first name on my new patient form and was taking back right away. The doctor came in after a couple mins of being in the exam room. If your wondering, no the new patient forms doesn't have a lot of questions and to check in is on a sheet, no electronic system!! He is always saying to me "We are going to make sure your quality of life is better." I was diagnosed with SIBO, which is a very complicated bacteria based disease that will never go away.
