The food was excellent, I ordered Pad See Ew and though the noodles were thin and not thick like normal the taste was excellent, my partner got the Pad Thai and also really enjoyed it. We've been to Thai restaurants in Thailand, Dubai, the UK, and Canada and, sorry to say, we Benja's food is quite mediocre. Nice people and their take out is ready on time and hot. The restaurant itself seats very few people but thats a valid business proposition. read more

My partner and I stopped here for lunch and to stop off at a few wineries on the way to Osoyoos. It's just off the main road downtown Keremeos and difficult to miss. The restaurant is clean and staff were friendly, helpful and quick to respond. We ordered the spring rolls, bean thread noodle salad with prawns and chicken and a noodle dish, can't remember the name but was the first and spicy option with Thai basil, red chilies, sweet peppers and chicken. I also ordered a Thai iced coffee Everything was delicious. The iced coffee was creamy but not overly sweet. All the dishes were packed with flavour. I only deducted a star because while I found the prices reasonable, I felt the dishes could be bigger. Particularly the noodle dish which should've been more entree size. read more

Have been going to the restaurant since it opened. It's a gem for the town of Keremeos, some of the best Thai food around. However, the service has declined steadily. Before the owner used to always greet you and talk about the food, now you have to track down the servers to get any service. I dont recommend the soups, way too many mushrooms compared to other ingredients, but the stirfrys are pretty good, particularly the Pad Krapao. Overall, the food is mostly still pretty good, if you dont mind lackadaisical service. read more

All I can say is wow! I would not have expected to have amazing Thai around here, and I'm glad I underestimated the experience. The food is fresh and tasty, and the service is excellent. My wife and I had the special fried dumpling appetizer and it was excellent. It was like little Thai samosas deep fried with plum sauce. Very good. We then shared the chicken panang curry, the special seafood curry, and once finished, we added a chicken pad Thai. It was all very fresh, bright, and so tasty. We come here regularly from Osoyoos, it's that good. My husband who is picky and is gluten intolerant has enjoyed much of the menu ( as have I!). Excellent staff, always warm and welcoming. While staying in Kalden, my friends and I decided to treat our taste buds and have some Thai food. We called to order take-out as were coming back from a long day of wine tasting and were promised food in 15 minutes. This is a family run business that could use a bit of help in terms of dealing with customers. We had to sit an extra 10 minutes in the car before they informed us that one of our orders was running late. The food itself was ok and nothing better than a typical Thai house. I would look for another choice the next time I'm in the Okanagan Valley when it comes to Thai food. read more

Neat find in a sleepy interior town. Food was fairly tasty, 4 out of 5 for the food. It was quite pricey for the size of the dishes and location. rice was $6 a bowl and dishes $11-$13. Total bill was over $70 with tax and tip for 2 people. Would go back, but probably not regularly. read more

My boyfriend I found ourselves looking for dinner one night as we were camping. We look at the reviews and this restaurant was highly rated. We're in keremeos so we weren't expecting much but boy were we pleasantly surprised. My meal was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were crisp the flavor was great the servers were awesome. We dropped by here on our drive to the coast and I was amazed to find such good Thai food in a small town. The restaurant decor is delightful and the staff are friendly. I had the Tom Yum Kung soup and veggies in sweet and sour sauce and they were amazing. The Tom Yum was so good I drank every last drop of the broth - it was a perfect balance of spicy but savory and flavourful. I was also impressed by the density of ingredients in the soup, it wasn't just broth with a few tidbits floating in it. The sweet and sour veggies were great as well, the vegetables were obviously very fresh and prepared expertly. The sweet and sour sauce was just the right balance, without being sticky sweet. I cleaned my plate of every last bit of sauce, which I never do. I also really appreciated that they labelled the gluten free items. Overall, I wish they were in Vancouver, I would eat there more often. read more

May 7/11 Had a delicious lunch at this little spot on the main road (Hwy 3) in Keremeos, BC. We'd heard about it before, but after buying some plants and such at Don & Anna's Garden Center we thought we'd give this a place a try. What a treat - taste was bang-on and we'd definitely eat there again. Most entrees run around the $11 range, so it's not a cheap lunch (on a per person basis) but you can't beat the taste - fresh and pleasantly hot. read more

BEWARE of the LUCH HOUR SCAM!! If you are not a local and go to this place during lunch, you will be given a Dinner menu that's in a binder which is pricer and doesn't include anything and they will try to upsell you. This has happened to us twice!! First time we gave them the benefit of the doubt. A few years later, the second time we realized that they are quite clever in this little scam they've got going on. We specifically asked for lunch menus and were given every excuse under the sun and still were not given any. We will not be going back. read more

Very disappointed with both the food quality and the service. We've driven by this restaurant many times travelling the Crowsnest. Finally decided to stop in for dinner after a long day of travelling. My son was excited to try their curry. It was so runny it was like coloured water. Tasteless. Vegetarian dish was good as was the pad Thai so it made up for the awful curry. Then we made the mistake of ordering dessert. Waited what seemed to be 20+ minutes for the dessert to come out. The food was legitimately delicious. However there are enough problems that I would put this place at a 2.5-3* range. First, and biggest problem is portions are absolutely tiny. Rice is $6/bowl for a large and the bowl is really small. My family (2 adults, 1 yr and 3 yr) finished 4 bowls and could have had more. Curries were good, but again, small. Pad Krapao was good and a bit more respectable portion. Second major problem was service. We were brought the wrong curry. We ordered Red and received Massman. We realized after we had dished a bit up onto some plates, but at least half remained. They would not take it back and bring the correct dish. Only offered to bring the correct dish if we paid additionally for it. Not acceptable in my book. The food is great though, and the atmosphere is good. If you're not concerned about cost, go and enjoy. Order a couple dishes more than you would normally at a Thai restaurant and you won't be disappointed. read more

I've put off giving a review because quit honestly I'm a bit biased. The owners are friends of my wife who is also Thai. Last week we had friends stay with us from the Coast, my wife's Thai friend and her husband. They wanted to go out for dinner and with only two ethnic restaurants in town they picked Benja, which was no surprise. The food is North Eastern style which is a bit different than what most Thai restaurants outside Thailand serve. The food was great as usual and our friends were surprised at the authenticity. There is no more positive review that's more reassuring than from people that have eaten this style of food all their life and think it's great here. read more

If you like authentic, flavourful Thai food you need to stop at Benja. The restaurant is upgraded, the staff is friendly and the food is fabulous. We go quite often and the satay are to die for. Staff will happily create a meal specifically for your group to fit your budget, as authentic as you like it! Great local wine list encompasses the best of the local vino. read more

got some take away with this place.ordered a pad sew.the dish itself was an acceptable experience but received a happy meal sized portion..nearly $15 for less than one cup of food..could have easily eaten 3,maybe 4 portions.i showed it to someone working there,probably the owner..he laughed i did see other dishes being delivered to tables that seemed fair in size.so i conclude that this poor excuse for a restaurant decided to screw a take out customer because we'd be long gone to complain...avoid this place..its a joke!!!!!!!!!! read more
