I have been coming back to this place for years, moved away now and it's a must stop every time I come back to visit Penticton. I keep checking the menu though in hopes they bring back their Butter Chicken. I come for the Pho and became a fan of Green Curry after the butter chicken was taken away. They're a special dish with the bamboo shoots. I noticed another one missing. Please stop removing these items, I write this in fear my favs will be gone all together! read more

The pork Spring rolls were something very different thAn what I expected, the Chicken pho was delicious and hot, yet would have liked tofu rather than chicken. Another in our party had Green curry with tofu... a different presentation where vegetables were separate from the curry and tofu. Really good service - 5 stars Chicken fried rice was super yummy, ordered a combo appetizer platter which was a ton of great food for $29. Special of the day fell a little flat - grilled shrimp on a salmon fillet with coconut rice and sautéed veggies $26 (wish I'd gone with something on the menu) View was phenomenal - 5 stars Clean bathrooms and chill music and decor. But best of all were very gracious about seating us 20 minutes before 9 pm. Did not rush us through our meal at all. read more

On a hot sunny day, it's so refreshing to dine on a patio overlooking the lake. Cambo is perfect for this! It's a family-owned restaurant and everyone greets you like their family and our service was very attentive. The spring rolls we shared were flavorful and spicy, though it was a lot of money for so few. The salad rolls had fresh julienned veggies inside and vermicelli noodles and really nice for the hot day. It came with 2 to share. I think the restaurant is on the expensive side, however, you can't beat being across from the beach and excellent service. read more

What I love best about War Wonton Soup are the succulent morsels of BBQ pork, the lovely fresh Asian veggies, the generous portions of chicken and shrimp. You're not going to get that at Combo. We also ordered their specialty, Sesame Chicken, which looked and tasted like it was reheated from the day before. All that disappointment cost $27. Combos was, until a couple of years ago, my favourite place for take out and lunch on the patio. We will not be back. read more

Upon walking in, it felt more like a trendy club lounge than your typical Asian fusion restaurant ! One side restaurant, one side lounge - so was the food upscale fusion that the decor implies? Not really. I was told the pad Thai was the best and of course I had to try it and no, it's not the best and very typical I wanna be but just use ketchup and not fermented fish sauce for flavour please. The other dishes that hubs and family ordered were okay and I found the menu to be all over the map. Service was good and the owners were there and friendly. I say forget pleasing western palates and put authentic flavours and ingredients in the food to make it a place worthy of the money spent on decor let alone spending the money on a chef trained in Asian cuisine ! read more

Wow I just ordered spring rolls and salad rolls to go and had tbe rudest waitress ever. I checked my order as I always do and seen there was not enough peanut sauce so I said "that is not enough peanut sauce can I have an extra?" She said that will $.50 and I replied "really, they dont give you enough and then charge you for more?" She turned right snotty with me and said "usually that is enough peanut sauce!!" But in the meantime while she was getting me my extra peanut sauce I added hot sauce to my peanut sauce. She said to me really snotty. The next time you get any other sauces there is a $.50 charge. I was surprised as I have eaten at many vietnamese restaurants and have never been charged for hot sauce. So I was standing there trying to make sense if it and said to her "so if I was sitting here eating and wanted hit sauce i would be charged for it??" "There must be some kind of misunderstanding, that just doesn't make sense!!" She was so rude. Even through in some valley high lip and sigh. Walked by this place several nights in a row thinking that it was just another typical restaurant attached to a hotel. Was actually trying to get in another one down the road but line up was over 2 hrs wait. Wow. Couldn't ask for better service. Friendly. Fast. Clean. View of the lake was gorgeous Enjoyed sitting on the patio as the sun went down. Now to the good part. The food. So I didn't get a pic of the avocado shrimp but omg. Great start. The surf and turf left no room for improvement. Steak (blue rare) was perfect Seasoned was on point. In between the shrimp and steak was a Fallon of garlic butter. Actual garlic chunks in the butter. Shrimp was done the way it should be. Not sure what they did to the veggies but I ate them all. Would love to carry on but I'm still trying to finish everything in my plate. Amazing. And then dessert came. Sahyla recommended chocolate mousse cheesecake. What a grand finale. read more
