I had promised my mom that I would take her out to Sushi for a late birthday present. I'm not often in the province so when I am I try to take her out. It was just after new years and these guys were almost the only Sushi restaurant open in the city during the holidays. So I was thrilled. The location is just off Main Street, and is pretty small. Not sure I'd want to come here to sit down and eat, but we were ordering to go anyways, so no problem. The lady who helped us was very pleasant. We ordered dynamite rolls, yam rolls, rainbow rolls and salmon nigiri. Everything was delicious! It is definitely a close second for my favourite sushi in Penticton. I will be back! read more

absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ingredients were super fresh, and each roll was hand made. the quality of the fish was amazing, wayyyyy better than another popular sushi restaurant around here that also starts with G. the unagi was some of the best we'd had. i highly recommend the yam roll, the tempura yam was super flavorful, and i would never think to put yam in sushi! nice presentation as well. haven't tried the ramen yet, but other customers were eating some and it smelled and looked beautiful. highly recommend UPDATING- i only come to penticton once a year, and alllll year i crave their yam rolls. i would eat here every single day if i could. if i lived in penticton i would single handedly fund the restaurant lol. i tried the ramen this time and it fully lives up to my expectations. noodles taste fresh, nice egg flavor, good chewy texture. broth is sooooo flavorful. the seasoned egg was cooked perfectly! all the toppings were fresh. this is my favorite restaurant in penticton, and i look forward to eating here every year. read more

Delicious. My new favorite place to go when Im in the penticton area. The restaurant itself is small, so don't expect there to be much room for your party of 15. Luckily they also offer takeout Service is good too. I was completely satisfied with my Philly roll, Unagi (which is probably the best i've ever had) and their yam cream cheese roll. Holy bananas this was some freaking fantastic ramen!! We popped in at 7.05, knowing they close at 7.30 (hey, it's Penticton in the Winter, what do you expect?) There was another couple in there enjoying their meal, and I was hesitant if the server would be ok to serve us - we were definitely prepared to eat fast! The lovely woman behind the counter ushered us in immediately, got us seated and brought us menus. It said to order at the counter, but she took our order at the table. The interior is like a cosy living room - super homey. Just a few tables with a tiny kitchen in the back. I got their spicy California roll and the veggie ramen, and Boyfriend got their udon and some nigiri. I enjoyed the tea we ordered, as it came in a pot so we could refill ourselves at will. Boyfriend's sake was yummy too, although I just had a small cup of that! The California roll was super delicious - crunchy and fresh, with just a hint of spice (but I have a high tolerance!) The ramen was the real star of the show, though! The noodles were the perfect consistency - not too hard, not mushy at all, just chewy and delicious. There weren't a ton of veggies in there, it was pretty simple, but that was fine with me! The broth was absolutely to die for! I wasn't sure about it at first sip, but quickly grew to adore it. Well, we chose this place because of its 5-star reviews and ended up needing to do take out due to no seating space inside. We took a chance and ordered the 40 pc Happy Summer special, 4 miso soups, an ebi sunomono, an avocado roll and a spicy chopped scallop roll. It came to about $50 and we were told it would take 30 minutes. We came back to pick up and due to the monsoon-like rain, my sister dashed in to grab the food. When we got home (at the other end of town), we realized that there was no avocado roll included. As well, the contents of the 40 pc platter sounded fantastic but in reality left much to be desired. For example, the "crunchy yam roll" definitely was NOT crunchy at all! It was basically mashed yams wrapped in rice, great for my one year old nephew but not appetizing for us adults!! The dynamite roll was basically unrecognizable having nothing in it except a prawn tempura. The miso soup, however, was very nice! lol All in all, we were pretty disappointed and cannot recommend this place. read more

I lucked out when this couple opened their restaurant just up the street from my house. They have a fairly standard sushi menu. Where they earn their 5 stars is they charge in the mid range, the sushi is high quality and the sushi chef is Japanese. His ingredients are fresh, the sushi rice is warm (not refrigerator cold) and they definitely have a level of pride in plying their art. There are a number of sushi places in town, and a few charge more than these guys and their sushi is not as good. These guys serve sushi that is so good, I have handed them an obscene amount of money. A crack habit would have been much much cheaper. BURP! read more

My favourite sushi place in Penticton. When I am in Penticton I use to go three times a week. The combos menu are very good. For me the miso soup and the dumplings are excellent (shrimp and pork). The restaurant is very small with 4 tables but I will recommend you to order online and pick up in the restaurant. You also have the possibility to choose the time you will pick up your food. Their ramen Spivey pork soup is AMAZING mouth watering soooooo good delicious yum! It's all I think about it's so good! Their dim sum is freshly made takes about 15 minutes or so but it's fresh and delicious. Their sushi is very good too but my fav thing is definitely the Spivey pork ramen! read more

My family and I Dumplingsreally enjoyed this restaurant. For covid times this smaller restaurant had 3 tables inside. The staff were very helpful in moving one of the tables beside each other so our family of 5 could sit together. There were also a few tables outside in their patio area. My husband really liked the black garlic ramen and kids really enjoyed their teriyaki chicken meals. An added bonus was their portions were very generous. Pricing was comparable to other Japanese restaurants in the area. The service was also great - without asking, we were given spoons, forks and small bowls so the kids could easily eat their meals. Would definitely recommend but be aware of the limited seating. I would suggest calling ahead to get an idea of how busy it is. read more

Felt like Ramen today and there are not many options in Penticton. Looked on Yelp and found this place so I decided to give it a try. Ordered the barbecue pork Ramen for takeout. It was really tasty and had enough meat in it. The broth was pretty good in my opinion. Yes I agree, the parking at this location could be better but this is a smaller restaurant.
