They quickly responded and came over the next day. It was a huge tree and I felt like they did a great job getting everything done so quickly. I asked for stump removal so that cost me additional. After they grinded the stump down, I have never done this before and thought it was a job well done. A couple weeks later we were getting turf installed. As the turf contractors were going over the area they noticed that the stump was still there. So the turf company had to go out and rent a grinder to grind down the stump further to not affect the turf installation. I called Lori and she told me that she is not able to come and assess as she is out of town. I explained the situation and she told me that the stump should be grinder down 8 inches. I explained that it definitely was not 8 inches and I wanted to be compensated back for the fee I paid. She told me she was out of town and could not deal with it right now and that Ramon had suffered heat stroke. I apologized they were going through something but I never head back. Definitely disappointed because I was referred to them from having excellent service. read more

I chose Ramon and Lori from Benitez because communication was quick and professional. I also chose them because they could schedule the job soon and their prices were competitive. I got several quotes: $1500, $1800, $1900, $1350, $1300. I was going to choose the $1350 vendor because price was good and he was the very first person out to see me... but he dropped the ball in communication. So I chose Benitez at $1300 and when he came out I added more work to the job which then totaled $1675. Ramon and his guys arrived early and worked hard all day. I just hired Benitez Tree service to remove 3 palm trees, 1 bird of paradise bush and 1 ash tree, and to lace and reduce one large elm tree from around our property, and they did an incredible job. The came out to quote me on Sunday afternoon within 24 hours of my first call, and offered a very reasonable price. We had the work scheduled for a couple of days later, and the guys arrived early and sat outside in their truck outside our house waiting for our scheduled time to ring my doorbell. By 5pm that same evening, all work was complete and our front and backyards looked cleaner than before they started. They said they would be at my house at 11:00 a.m to give me an estimate. I arrived home at 10:57 from prior appointment and a note was left on my door saying they had come at 11:00, and since I wasn't home, I would need to call to reschedule!!! It was not 11:00 yet, so obviously they were here much earlier and could not wait until the time they made the appointment for! I immediately called Lori at the number she told me to and she was very rude. I tried explaining to her that she obviously was not at my house at 11, as it was just 10:59 while we were talking. She said she was 2 blocks away and had been at my house at 11... hmmm, how can that be?? I then asked if she could turn herself around and come back, and she said "No, just call another company!!!!!" I am very pleased with the work that Benitez Tree Services did for me. I got 3 estimates to have 3 15' high Hong Kong orchid trees removed. Benitez Tree Services came in with the lowest price. They showed up at the day and time they said and cut down the three trees, loaded it up and were gone in under an hour. A little later the stump grinder showed up and made short work of the tree stumps. When they left everything was evened out, raked and cleaned up. Thank you Ramon and Lori!!! I called around for a quote for our yard (we have lots of trees, shrubs, and general chaos in our yard), and got a few quotes. Initially the quote we got from Benitez Tree Services wasnt the lowest quote, but the other quote that was a bit lower came from a guy that we felt was not totally reliable. So I called Lori and gave her the info and she not only matched the other guy, but she came in 50$ less than the other quote! They came out quickly and did all the work we had talked about and the yard looks GREAT! I will absolutely keep their number for next time we need more work done. One thing that was a bummer was you cant use credit card (check only) but really I understand that for a small business credit card fees can be astronomical, so its def not make or break for me. I would recommend Benitez without reservation. I had a 40 foot Acacia tree that died and needed to be taken down. The tree was between two houses and somewhat difficult to access. Ramon and his crew were prompt and very skilled. The tree was down and gone within 6 hours. The stump needed to be ground out and a portion of the wood fence needed to be replaced. This business set up an appointment five days in advance, at 8:30 on a Wednesday. They never showed and never called to reschedule. When I called at 9:30 to find out why, they sent me a text full of lame excuses. Then the female receptionist called and did not even attempt to offer an apology. Had them remove a very large established maple whose root system was encroaching on our pool. Additionally they trimmed our eucalyptus, removed another small ficus and it's roots from an interior atrium and cleaned up our avocado trees. We wanted to keep the wood for our fireplace next season and they went above and beyond in helping make that easy for us. Benitez Tree Svc was courteous, timely and very responsible. They cleaned up all of the debris that had fallen onto our neighbor's property during the removal process as well as all of the debris on our property. We called Benitez Tree Services to have them trim our Palm Tree. We scheduled an appointment for them to come give us an estimate, but they no showed. We called to find out what was going on and they said they forgot about us! Not cool. So we rescheduled to have them come the next day. They did come the next day but they were 30 min late. Not professional. We mistakenly made the decision to have them trim our tree only to have them not show up again. And they never even called to let us know. They just no showed. When I asked about their repeated tardiness and not showing up Lori suggested I go with another company. She didn't even apologize for their unprofessional behavior or lack of communication. These guys were awesome. I called and had them out to do a quote the same night. They were out to do the job the very next morning. I had a couple palms that needed to be trimmed back and a tree that needed to be taken down. They got all of that done, took apart and hauled away the planter that my tree was in (stone planter they had to break apart) and cleared away the stump from the tree in very little time. They were very fast and very clean. Couple of things to note, just to demonstrate how really wonderful these guys are: 1. I accidentally overpaid them because I misunderstood what the price would be. I had to run out and so I gave them money before I left since I had 100% faith that I didn't need to be there to inspect their work. I got a call an hour later informing me I overpaid. They didn't feel comfortable leaving the money anywhere at my property since I wasn't home and made the extra effort to drive BACK to my house a couple hours later when they were done for the day to return my cash. 2. I had some weeds growing in my front yard that I intended to deal with myself the following day. Even though it wasn't part of their bid and I wasn't there to ask them to do it, they cleaned up the weeds as they were cleaning up the rest of the stuff to haul away. I would definitely recommend.! I have now used Benitez Tree Service 4 times. Prices are very reasonable and they are available for work immediately. They have always completed our projects in less then a day and the clean up job is thorough, leaving no trace of the work behind. We have a Ficcus tree in the back yard and were very concerned that the expanding root system was moving under the house. Ramon cut the roots back and thinned out the tree which made it much more likeable. I didn't even know you could cut the roots back like that. Nonetheless, we are now able to plant grass where the roots had taken over. I gotto say, both Laurie and Ramon seem to have a great depth of knowledge about different trees and the type of trimming each require. I plan to use them whenever I need tree/hedge service. I needed 2 smaller trees completely pulled out and one 35 ft tree cut down to about 4 feet. I called on Wednesday and made an appointment for 3:30 on Thursday. Ramon was waiting for me when I arrived home at 3:15. He immediately looked at my trees and I told him what I needed, He quoted me a price for the job which was a little higher than I was expecting but I went with it because I told him that I needed them pulled out the by Friday(the next day). These guys are awesome. We first used them when we bought our house and had a few dead/diseased and just ugly trees to be removed, one was a good 30-40 feet adjacent to a canyon. We got several quotes and Benitez beat them all. They came out quickly, took out all the trees, ground all the stumps, and left our yard cleaner than it was before. We couldn't believe that just a few guys could get all this work done in a day. The second time we used them was after I completed a lot of renovation to our house. Our garage had accumulated a mountain of trash/debris that we had to get rid of. Dumpsters were costly and involved me again moving everything into it, and all the big companies were over priced, so I figured I'd call Benitez again. They came out the next day, gave me a bid, and hauled away everything just a few days later. Again, our garage was cleaner than it was when we bought the home. After calling twice, the wife answered while at the vet. Didn't know why I was calling. She forgot to record the Appt in the books. She said he would be here in an hour. After almost two hours I called and asked where he was. She wasn't sure what was going on and said she would look into it. She left me a message and said he got into an accident and would not be able to make it today which I didn't believe. This is an embarrassment to all the small business trying to make it. Competitive price, quality work and timely service. This is the second time I have used Benitez Tree Service, and I was as just as impressed as I was with their first job. The first time they did a complete overhaul of all the overgrown tree's in my yard which was a two day job they completed to perfection. This time, it was removal of a HUGE King Palm that was situated between a power line and the back fence. After calling Benitez TS, I called around to do my standard practice of "Get 3 bids, then decide." To be honest, I felt most comfortable dealing with Benitez TS. They always returned my calls right away, they came out promptly on time to give me a bid, offered the service for a fair price, showed up the exact time they promised, did an excellent job and cleaned up the yard nicely.
