They worked very hard despite cold winter temperatures and completed the job in a timely manner. They took their time laying the posts and carefully measuring the distances and property line. Antonio is very detail oriented and made sure that we were comfortable with the property line and we discussed how the fence would flow given the grade of the property. I appreciated that he is definitely of the "measure twice (or three times), cut once" mindset and I felt like he was very focused on getting it right and making sure that I was comfortable before starting the install. I never got the sense that he was trying to rush this job to hurry off to another project. His team left our yard spotless during and after the install and graciously cleared bushes and brush in order to install the fence in the first place. Any time I had a question about the project or needed clarification, Antonio was quick to call or text me. He is very customer service oriented and puts a lot of effort into maintaining open lines of communication and partnering with his clients to get the job done right. Every day he said he would show up to work, he did, and he was always available by text (day or night, including weekends). After moving into a newly built home in early 2021, I decided to request estimates for adding a…read morescreened/open deck. I researched the reviews of many companies and obtained multiple estimates. My final decision to select Leesburg Decks was easy. Above all I felt the most comfortable with Scott and how he patiently detailed all of my design plans and provided a few of his own that really brought the project together. The project consisted of a 16' x 14' screened porch and an attached 26' x 12' open deck using Trex, aluminum rails and PVC wrapping, porch fan, LED lighting on the open deck and 6 steps leading down to a small ground platform also made with Trex. Lattice wrapped the entire deck with landscape timbers and landscape stones. Each day the crew arrived early and cleaned the area before departing. Scott's crew was very professional and worked hard to complete the the project in approximately 3 weeks. Along the way I asked for a few minor changes in the design and Scott was able to easily work them in. He took over an hour to measure everything and sent me the lumber quote he received so that I was fully informed, then we talked labor. He would point out problematic areas (like rotting framing) and would ask me if I wanted to have it replaced rather than just covering it up with the new surface. He did an amazing job that had my mom's tenants and the neighbors complementing the work and I felt the price was very reasonable. Based on that job, I brought him out to take a look at my townhouse to possibly replace the siding and he suggested sanding, priming and painting instead due to the price of replacement. They sanded almost every square inch of it, primed it (in some areas twice) with a peeling paint primer that is like glue to fill in gaps and keep the rest of the old paint from peeling, and then put a double coat over everything. When they finished, I was surprised to find that they had power washed our patio, porch, and front half-height fence and even painted the fence though we never talked about doing any of that work. We did our due diligence and looked at neighbors' decks who had gone with VA Deck and Patio AND who had gone with other competitors. From that moment, comparing the quality, we knew we had to go with VA Deck & Patio because their quality was so much better than the others. The corners are square and everything is flush and matches up perfectly. We reached out to Mike, the owner, and communicating with him was great through the entire process. Even if sometimes it took a day or two to respond, after having him build our deck- we know why!! He was out here every day 7:30am- at least 5pm (most nights until 6:30). So to the other reviewer who said something about Mike being non-responsive, it's because he was working his TAIL off building someone's deck for 12 hours in a day. Carmen Pretopapa, Nathan Hill, & Zack Hill do nothing but lie and scam people out of their money. Worse, they'll damage your property, costing you more money! I wrote a review while they were still "working" for us. They threatened to stop all work unless I removed the online review. I removed it, still hoping for resolution on project. Their tactics are gaslighting, lies, & threats. And Carmen blamed his employees for all the mistakes in the construction- saying, "well, all these guys are Mexican...or er, ya know all those countries are like Mexico to me...and they don't have the same standards we do." WHAT?! Hired them to build a 10x11 portico roof & install 2 patios in July 2022. They took $18,400 from us. After several delays, & numerous excuses about vacations & illnesses, and even blaming the county- work finally began in Jan 2023. Porch failed inspection FOUR times. They damaged our new home roof, damaged our house siding & caused immeasurable stress. When it became clear that the structure they had partially built was 100% UNSAFE: (a) rafters not tied into the home correctly; (b) random beam installed over door, then removed; (c) foundation posts not level causing a backflow of water & water intrusion into home; (d) structure allowed to sit uncovered for months during rainy season also allowed damage & mold growth; (e) the post near house should have actually been tied into home beams- instead they tried to build a "box" in front of the door & then poorly attached a porch roof which was incorrectly tied into home roof. Basically you could push on one of those posts with one hand & the entire structure would move. The whole structure could have easily come down, ripping out our home roof with it!! We stopped all work until a structurally sound plan could be devised. Had our 3rd meeting with Nate, Carmen & county inspector who advised Nate & Carmen exactly what needed to be done. NONE of the corrections were done-they simply shoved shims between posts & porch roof to "level" it. We bent over backwards trying to work it out with the company, we gave them numerous chances & a lot of money. We finally hired an attorney & went to court. We won & were awarded actual & treble damages plus attorney fees. Not surprisingly, Nate & Carmen ran off with our money. Our attorney sent garnishment letters to the company bank, but were informed the total amount in their account was only $2,000-that won't even cover our attorney fees. Virginia should stop them & prevent this from happening to anyone ever again. They have been allowed to commit fraud, damage property, and steal from honest people in Loudoun & Clarke counties & beyond. Don't believe me? Look at their reviews, look at the BBB where they have an F rating. Look at the state DPOR site at all the complaints...according to the state site their last known business license was REVOKED.
