Honestly disappointed. I've heard great things about this place and it couldn't be farther from our expericnce. The inside was really nice but the food and service was mediocre at best. We got the pork dumplings and they came out literally cold. Not even slightly warm. We sent them back and got another order that were hot and we're really good. I got hibachi chicken and fried rice and both were incredibly dry. We normally love hibachi and have been to many places so we had high expectations and were greatly disappointed. I hate giving 1 stars but it truly a terrible experience. I do want to preface that it was Valentines day so I know places are busy on a holiday. But this was something completely different. We waited maybe 5-10 minutes to get seated which was amazing and then it pretty much went downhill from there. During the first hour we were there I was able to get 1 drink from the bar. I had to ask a few times for a new one and I was told it was being made. While watching other tables around us get drinks. We were handed a limited menu which is fine IF they would have mentioned that they still have their other menu if requested. The limited menu didn't have any starters listed on the top they had a few sushi rolls listed and the bottom you could get a side of edamame. So we weren't going to order anything until the couple next to us said oh the bar gave us this menu but they didn't want us to take it. It was the regular menu so we asked the waitress if we could order pot stickers and we could. This upset the family sitting next to us because they ordered the sushi rolls for a started which was much more expensive. We did get our onion soup but it didn't have any flavor more on the just hot water side. I think they just made a big batch in preparation for the busy time but they didn't season it well at all. This was all we got the first hour of the meal, a drink, onion soup, and the pot stickers. The second hour we got our food started however for paying $130 I would expect more food than half a piece of zucchini, a little bit of onion, half a sliced chicken breast, half a filet, and some fried rice. During the dinner the portions didn't really made sense one couple both order shrimp fried rice with one of them getting 3 pieces of shrimp in it and the other all the rest which was a lot. My significant other didn't get his veggies until everyone else had everything on their plate (veggies, rice, and meat). We finally got our second drinks AFTER the meal had been placed for everyone. We did not receive our green tea or ice cream and we had to ask for our salad multiple times. We ended up talking to at least 2 other servers because we could never find ours. The manager comped just the drinks off our bill which thank you but I was still shocked at the bill being as high as it was for the lack of food and service. While we were getting bill the manager was talking to someone and one couple left. Right after they left he started passing out a little gift card to us and the other family which was a little rude I felt.. I was extremely disappointed with the service and food a total let down. read more

On Saturday, March 9th my husband and I attended a 9 year old's birthday party at this Conroe location. I don't know if our chef Aaron was assigned to our party because of his personality or pure serendipity. He was hilarious! He was incredibly talented and efficient but the way he interacted with the kids was precious. They bombarded him with questions to which he had the perfect response for each. He overheard one singing Taylor Swift lyrics to which he finished the song while cooking and serving the whole time. We all had such a wonderful time and enjoyed a delicious hibachi meal. I would like to start off in saying very rarely do I leave reviews for chains as really we all know what to expect BUT I have to give this Benihana location a solid 5! Service is top notch, management and attitude of staff was impeccable. I would actually go as far as saying that I bet the management creates this environment as you definitely got a strong teamwork vibe between the staff members. The restaurant was so clean and organized. I had actually made a mistake in our reservations and they not only accommodated us but actually did so in a way that made me feel more welcomed. I am telling you guys I really am impressed with the level of service! Food and menu is what we all know but again it was well served and cooked to absolute perfection. Marcus was our chef this evening and he had an amazing spirit and sense of humor. He was engaging with the kids at our table, making it a fun experience for them. What a disappointment. Compared to other teppanyaki places I've been to, the tables are pretty small so you're squished in with your table mates. The food was ok - but my steak was not brought out with all the others' meats so I waited until chef was cooking and serving everything before asking where is my steak. They quickly brought one out and cooked it up.... A little too quickly. My medium steak was rare - not even medium rare. By the time he served me, he was cleaning the cooktop so I wasnt comfortable asking him to cook the meat more. And the filet was supposed to come with mushrooms. No mushrooms! We REALLY wanted to enjoy ourselves. The highlight was our chef. Great personality..tried his best. Whoever the management is..they seem so in over their head..almost sad to watch. Every single table had the chefs asking for more food to be brought out...I've had Hibachi all over the world and never saw it like this before! Both parties at the table had to ask repeatedly for our sushi appetizers before the "food arrived". Management was getting more and more snarky whenever asked about it. This is also the same manager who stood against the wall while three hibachi table were still covered with food..watching doing nothing..maybe he could have set the example and started cleaning the areas.. Then when you asked for soy sauce with your sushi/meal..they would literally pour it and take it away. I've NEVER seen that before. I didn't realize small soy sauce dispensers were in dish high demand! Honestly felt bad for the young staff..you could see in their eyes..what ever passion they might of brought there was beaten out of them by management. Food was bland. Service was some of the worst I ever received for the money. The ambiance was ok. I would never recommend someone to go there instead just go to shogun save the money. The show you pay for was not good but if I was the cook I would have been mad too when the cart is loaded wrong and have to ask multiple times for servers to get the right stuff Bc our waitress disappeared and was missing in action. She then at the end wanted to come and try and defend herself for the lack luster job she did. Also didn't really appreciate the female manager that was there. She acted like we were making it all up and just wanted a free meal when in fact I'm more than willing to pay for good food and experience.
