Spicy scallion tofu entree with steamed rice, mushrooms and zucchini.

I have not been to Benihana in at least 10 years, and I hope that I will not return for another 10 years or more. I went for a friend's birthday, so I had to appease the birthday girl. Nothing has changed, at least for the better, since my last visit. The chefs are less talented than they used to be and the prices have skyrocketed. The only positive change is a tofu/vegetarian entree option. Be ready to pay at least $65 for any meal, unless you get the tofu which is $35. Fried rice will incur an upcharge though. Our chef literally only did one "trick" which was making the heart of rice beat. Very sad show. We had a reservation but still had to wait an exceptionally long time to get the food service started. I gave them 2 vs 1 stars because the food actually tasted good and the portion was large. The menu states "dipping sauces". We were only given yum yum sauce. When I mentioned it, the chef asked if we wanted ginger sauce too. We shouldn't have to ask but pretty sure we should've also gotten teriyaki and/or soy sauce as well. I also mentioned that we didn't get a show, at the end after preparing everyone's meal, then the chef did the onion ring of fire and attempted to do the choo-choo train but the train lost steam before it left the station and definitely fell off the tracks (fell apart) when he tried to move it. Such a disappointing time.

We chose Benihana to celebrate my baby's 10th birthday, and overall it was a great experience. Chef JoJo was engaging and talented, and the food was exactly what we hoped for, well-seasoned steak and shrimp, tasty rice, and fresh vegetables cooked perfectly at the table. Our server Denzel was awesome friendly, attentive, and kept things running smoothly once we were seated. The service itself was very good; however, the wait time was long (as ever), so definitely expect that, especially if you're going during peak hours or for a celebration. That said, the lively atmosphere and interactive cooking made it worth it, and my daughter truly enjoyed herself. If you're planning a birthday or special occasion, Benihana is a fun, reliable option just arrive with patience or plan ahead for the wait.

    There's better options‍

It was my first (and probably last) time: small tables, congested seating, a bit unorganized, long time for meal...I'm good

Highly recommend Benihana (Buckhead) for a great meal anytime, but especially for their "Be the Chef" special experience. I purchased the "Be the Chef" experience for my grown up son to celebrate his birthday. Everyone had a blast, ate a huge meal, and fond memories were made. Special thanks to Chef Jackson for coordinating the meal, to Bernard for his chef lesson, to Chef Raul Gonzalez for his real-time cooking guidance, and to Mama Kay for photos and making sure we had yummy drinks, and to the rest of the staff for taking such good care of us. I don't know if the "Be the Chef" experience is a widely known offering ....but it should be! Go check out the website under special experiences for more details. You will be impressed...my group sure was!

    HIBACHI CHICKEN

Our hibachi didn't taste like hibachi at all, it was over priced and mid and why was everything so confusing. Online menu is better than restaurant menu also btw. Cute fish menus though. Slow service

In the mood for some good hibachi, stopped here to celebrate mi Birthday on April 1st with the Fam! The service was Exceptional and the ambiance was great! It was on a Tuesday, not crowded at all! I ordered the Ocean Treasure (chopped lobster tail, shrimp and Scallops, veggie rice, soup, salad) for dessert they brought out the sherbert! So good, everything was great! My Family enjoyed their food, our server was Nae and Chef Malaki, Dynamic Duo! Ask for them, you will not be disappointed, Food was sooo good if course took some home and ate two more times, it was still good and flavorful! They give you so much food, can't wait to go back! Plenty of free parking in a great area of Buckhead

.: Friday! The best chef ever!! :.

It was busier than usual--probably thanks to the holiday--but the atmosphere was still fantastic, as always. The service was impeccable--attentive, warm, and full of great suggestions. I ordered the chicken okonomiyaki, a miso soup, and, after my last time's mistake, just one negroni--because, wow, that drink hit like a Mike Tyson punch the first time. The miso soup was, as always, a comforting classic--those little tofu cubes floating in that warm broth are just perfect. But the star was the chicken okonomiyaki. I only got the small one, but the flavor was out of this world. The chicken was so unbelievably tender--like, the A5 wagyu of chicken. I can still taste it days later--it was that good. I can already see it becoming my go-to, though I might go bigger next time, depending on my appetite. One of my favorite things is that OK Yaki keeps the kitchen open super late--especially handy on a Saturday night. If you're reading this and you're on the fence--don't second-guess yourself. Get in there, soak in the vibe, and treat yourself to some of the best food around. I can't wait to go back!

If you are close to Buford Hwy you should try this place. They have parking for a few cars right in front, a smallish restaurant inside with a full sushi bar. Their menu is pretty comprehensive and includes fried rice, noodles, sushi rolls, sashimi, soups etc. As we were a large group we ordered a bunch of things. Most of the entrees are served with a salad and soup making it quite the meal. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, the pork gyoza, shrimp shumai, omelette, combination fried rice, B-52 roll, sunrise roll, crunchy roll I think. Sashimi was fresh - yellowtail, tuna, salmon. The gyoza was delicious and table favorite Honestly, I even enjoyed the pork belly omelette. So flavorful... The fried rice was cooked well but was missing some seasoning/salt. Otherwise good. The rolls were great and we selected ones that had some spice. My favorite was the sunrise roll - a little crunchy inside yet with a slight kick. The staff felt a little overwhelmed with our group but they were polite and helpful. Food was prices reasonably and worth it (for the portion sizes).

The chicken skin is crispy and decadent, and the chicken liver is another major hit--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. * Seafood Favorites: My wife absolutely loved the steamed clams, and the grilled oysters were a hit as well. The octopus salad was also very fresh and well-balanced. The Sushi Bar: * Fish Selection: The quality and variety here are impressive. We ordered a mix of rolls and nigiri, including scallop, sweet shrimp, and tuna maki. * Quality: Every piece of fish was notably fresh. The only minor critique was the sushi rice--it was a bit dry for my personal taste, but the quality of the seafood more than made up for it. * Snail (Tsubugai): It's great to see more unique options like snail on the menu; it's a nice touch for those who appreciate traditional Japanese variety. Since I wasn't in the mood to sit down and eat, I went ahead and placed a call-ahead order for their House Lo Mein along with an order of fried chicken wings. The restaurant itself is fairly spacious with a nice, welcoming atmosphere once you step inside. The décor gives off a classic Chinese restaurant vibe that feels comfortable and relaxing. Parking, however, is a bit of a mixed bag. The spots right in front of the building are limited, so I ended up using the extended parking lot, which was a little dark and had that slightly eerie feeling at night -- nothing too wild or dangerous, but definitely not the most well-lit area I've seen. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was pleasantly greeted right at the door by the staff, who provided genuinely friendly and efficient customer service. That warm welcome made the whole pickup process smooth and quick. Once I got back to my hotel room and finally dug into the food, I have to say the House Lo Mein was prepared with fresh ingredients and good quality noodles and vegetables. It wasn't the most outstanding lo mein I've ever tasted in my life -- I've had versions that were more flavorful and better seasoned -- but it certainly wasn't the worst either. I'd honestly describe it as pretty mid-tier: solid, reliable, and worth what I paid for it on that particular evening. The fried chicken wings, on the other hand, really stood out to me. They were extra crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and actually had some noticeable flavor and seasoning, which made them quite enjoyable. All in all, it was a decent and satisfying meal that hit the spot after a tiring day. The portions were generous enough, and the value felt reasonable. I could definitely see myself returning to The Orient sometime in the future if I find myself back in the area and in need of a quick Chinese takeout option. That said, with plenty of other restaurants nearby that offer more affordable prices and bolder flavors, it probably wouldn't be my absolute first choice the next time I'm craving something similar. We also had a Sheldon room with spicy tuna, and it was square instead of the regular roll, and we really enjoyed that one, too. When we come back, we'll be tempted to order the same rolls, if we can figure out what they're called, but if not, there are so many other phenomenal options on the menu we'd be happy with.
