Omg what a rip off! $13 for a tiny little butter dosa. Paid total of $70 for 1 butter soda, 1 cheese dosa, 1 Mysore masala dosa, 1 medu vada, and 1 masala thumbs. Very expensive. And the food was terrible (except the butter dosa was yum but super tiny). Def not going back. Self serve.

New place in NoLibs for Indian street food. It is all vegan or vegetarian but the kiosk menu is very hard to know which is vegan. We got 2 items that were very good. Bigger portions than a normal street food since the prices are higher than what would think for a chaat. It was all very good tho!

Absolutely delicious chaat! Full of flavor, nutritious, and such a nice change from the useful neighborhood offerings. Loved the bhel puri and chow chow bath the most, and the ghee podi idly were also great. Service was very friendly, and the place is comfortable for dine in or takeout.

My boyfriend were excited to see this spot open up in our neighborhood, as the 2nd street corridor has a lot of variety in terms of East and Southeast Asian food, and a solid South Asian spot was just what was needed. South Indian food in particular is very vegan/vegetarian friendly, but is harder to find than North Indian food unless you go to Amma's downtown. Bengaluru Cafe has a beautiful, spacious interior that still feels fast casual. We tried three dishes: Akki roti, which came with three types of chutney, sweet, savory, and a little spicy, the cheese vada pav which were tasty, slider-style spiced potato patties, and of course, a butter dosa. The dosa was truly the best I've had in Philly. Crispy, buttery, and still light. Sri, one of the managers, came and spoke with me and my boyfriend personally and explained that their dosas were made using a fermentation process which is rare in the US. Whatever they did, they're doing something right. Everything we ordered was delicious with a really nice and complex flavor profile. There were also so many things on the menu we still want to try. I would definitely recommend!!!

It felt like the perfect chance to try some dishes we don't usually order while getting a good deal. Overall, the Restaurant Week menu was a solid value (up to $18 worth of extra food). While the dishes we ordered didn't quite beat our usual favorites, everything was still tasty. The restaurant itself is clean and well ventilated. It's also baby-friendly--they have high chairs, and although it can get a bit loud when busy, our little one didn't seem to mind at all. Big bonus points for convenient onsite parking with validation. It was freezing out, so being able to park and walk right in was a huge plus. The staff were very professional. One dish came out undercooked, and our server fixed it immediately. The Restaurant Week drink specials were just okay--I'd probably skip those next time. Since Thanal is already a regular in our takeout rotation, we'll definitely be ordering again soon. I'd also happily dine in again during the next Restaurant Week.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Food - 4/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is on the smaller side, but they did a great job maximizing the space they have. The ambiance and decorations are a very nice touch, and everything feels clean and well kept. Service - Even though we came on a Friday without a reservation, they were able to seat us within 20 minutes, which we really appreciated. Overall, the service was excellent. What We Ordered - Plain Paratha - which was not as good as the paratha I have had at other restaurants Saag Paneer - which was very good Lamb Karahi - which was also very good Final Thoughts - I would definitely come back if we are in the area again to try more items from the menu.
