I ordered a $150 bouquet for my mother for mother's day (including tax and delivery), what she received was 1. not what I ordered and 2. consisted of about twelve already wilting roses. My mom, not one to exaggerate, called me and asked how much I paid, I told her and she was dumbfounded how a company that claims to be the best florist in Sarasota could deliver such garbage. I did select the substitutions are acceptable, but the entire arrange I selected was a bouquet of very expensive flowers and have every single one of those flowers substituted with dying roses is a shameful attempt to scam out of state customers hoping the recipient doesn't say anything. I emailed the company and no response. Avoid this florist. read more

I originally posted a "Two Star" rating because of a less than stellar experience with Beneva Flowers but need to revise my opinion because of the follow-up attention by the owner. David called several days later when he learned of our dis-satisfaction and asked if he could "make it right". Within two hours a fantastic arrangement arrived. It is obvious this outfit cares about customer satisfaction and I am impressed! read more

Michelle was so helpful and kind. We called in without much direction and she was patient and resourceful!! Great customer service!!!

There is no doubt about the quality and artistry that comes from Beneva Florists, however we had an extremely disappointing experience Saturday night at a Memorial Service. Our Community Board wanted to celebrate the life of a gentleman who had served in many capacities on the same Board. He was an avid golfer and we found the perfect arrangement for his service which required taking the donated golf clubs to Beneva and we were able to share the words to be written on the sympathy note for his family. The arrangement arrived - but there was no note or identification as to who sent the flowers so the family was clueless at the service and missed the kind words that surely would have shown their father's impact to this community. We contacted Beneva this morning and their response was "that just couldn't happen"... You can see this was a striking display and you can see the address card on the arrangement- but it was empty inside and so were we. read more

I have used Beneva Flowers in the past and they have always done beautiful work. This past week we called on them again to provide comfort for friends who had lost a pet of 18 1/2 yrs. The arrangement was not only done to perfection it was so healing to the couple who received it. We want to thank the caring and artistic talents of Beneva Flowers. We thank the young compassionate woman who took the order, the skilled artisans who created the arrangement, and the kind delivery person who took it to their home. This is a local company that cares! Thank you again for the beautiful and memorable arrangement! read more

I had a non-generic request, so when I searched from work (Yelp is blocked) Beneva came up as having a 5 star rating on some other sites. I'm 3000 miles away and they promised to exceed my expectations....I have pretty high expectations and they managed to exceed them anyway! I ordered 42 red and white carnations but I couldn't send them in just a vase, etc. It had to be unique. The woman I talked with had to check with others to see if they could accommodate my request...they could. Then I needed it delivered before 7:30 am. At 4:29 am PDT I am getting texts on how amazing my present is....now THAT is what I'm talking about. Service!!! Plus the arrangement was gorgeous! And the flowers were FRESH! I don't know how they compare cost wise (I don't order a lot of flowers). However, if you want it done right and done on time, Beneva is the way to go. If only every florist were this good. read more

This used to be the go to for beautiful arrangements and high quality flowers... ordered a few weeks ago and the arrangement was nice, but for the price it seemed to be full of more generic/filler flowers. Slightly better versions of grocery store flowers (which cost significantly less). I was going to try again today but now they've added another $20 fee! That's on top of an already $12 for earlier delivery. I am truly bummed, but I can't justify another fee for delivery, good luck with that. read more

Love their flowers and the wonderful people who work there. They are always so helpful.

Great employees and staff! The owner, David Shuel is disrespectful to his staff. David Shuel is abusive and attacks the staff that works for him. I personally been in the shop when he was yelling at his employees. I support small business owners but after I witness that I now go to flowers by fudgie. I don't know about you but I rather buy from someone who appriciates their staff. read more

I have ordered from Beneva for over 20 years. I have always been happy with their beautiful, fresh arrangements & EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I had the pleasure of receiving their Bright & Cheery arrangement 6 days ago. It is still blossoming! Have only changed water every other day & added some crystals from the packet they provided. The arrangement is beautiful and ALL the blossoms opened including the roses. Honestly....this is THE place for all your floral needs. read more

I felt totally ripped off. They charged over $19 delivery fee and said it was because of covid. That is hard to believe because many people are looking for jobs and the cost of gas has not increased. I will be turning them over to the state attorney general for price gouging in the time of an emergency. Bad form! read more

I am beyond thrilled with the service and personal attention I received from Annie. My best friend had her opening night of "In The Heights" at The Black Box Theater, and I had the opening night wrong. I discovered my mistake hours before the performance and was in a panic. I really wanted her to arrive at the theater with beautiful flowers waiting for her, especially since we are all in New York and can't be there to cheer her on. I found Beneva on Yelp and called. Annie saved the day and most importantly my friend was so happy and felt "loved" just check out the photo. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! read more

I cannot believe that SRQ has not yelped yet about the VERY best in the business BENEVA FLOWERS! So let me be the first..... There are so many things to say about this incredible florist that I don't know whether to make it short and sweet or long and elaborate. I suppose I will begin with the fact that there is no order to big or small, short, tall or unique that this florist can't handle. I have used them personally for my wedding and professionally while I was a Concierge at a local resort. The reviews are always amazing. From Mother's day bouquets to an outlandish candy basket I sent a friend after she had a baby I am never short of impressed. I have moved away from Sarasota to Los Angeles and now to Colorado Springs but since they can send things anywhere, I will still always use them. I could go on all day but I am simply hoping to start the trend of YELPing in Sarasota (since no one I know, knows anything about it) and no better place to start than with my favorite florist! Thanks for everything Art and Crew and keep doing what you're doing! read more

Beneva Flowers has been my go-to resource for all things floral and gift for gosh, it seems like forever! Living in New York, I had to find a resource I could trust to help me give only the best to my Mom and family and friends in Sarasota, and with Beneva Flowers that's what we get. Every single floral arrangement, plant or gift is more pristine and gorgeous than the last. The flowers and plants not only look great upon arrival, but they shine and continue to grow long after - they are truly quality items, and a wonderful investment. My favorite now is to do a plant dish garden with a bunch of flowers inserted in between - this way, my recipient gets to enjoy the flowers and then the plants long after! Their gift baskets are wonderful treats - adorable or truly elegant, they answer the need of any occasion. Years ago, I admit it, one Sunday morning I awoke to realize that opps, I'd forgotten my Mom's bday flowers and didn't have time for it was her birthday. Upset and not thinking, I just picked up the phone - to find happily, Art the owner answering himself! He told me that I wasn't to worry, if he had to bring them himself he would. Mom got her gorgeous arrangement and she never knew...well, until I told her. But my wonderful Mom knew she was loved and I was saved the heartache of a silly mistake. Which brings me to one last point - when Beneva Flowers delivers, their delivery people are so wonderful - just like their amazing, patient and caring in-house staff who always have the perfect suggestions AND help you keep in budget! These people go above and beyond. They bring the flowers or gift in for Mom and remove wrappings, set up whatever needs doing and make sure she loves the item. To have the items presented in this way is a special gift, and it's a clear indication of what Art and his staff do: help us give love and honor. Thank you for all the peace of mind, the many years of joy, and the many more to come! read more

My mother's brother passed away and his funeral was at Sarasota National Cemetery. I ordered flowers from Beneva Flowers (my first time ordering from them). I placed my order over the phone for "Sympathy Wishes" from the patriotic line. The flowers were delivered to the cemetery on time. They were beautiful and looked as the website picture depicted. It's always worrisome to order from a business online. I will order from Beneva in the future, and think all new customers should be comfortable with this business. read more

I ordered a Mother's Day flower basket for my 86 year mother and she loved it! I'm in Chicago, so I found Beneva Flowers on Yelp and took a chance. They delivered for basket to her retirement community without issue. Most importantly, mom was thrilled! I'll order again next year! read more

I used Beneva for a few years to send flowers to my mother for various holidays since I live out of town. My last experience was horrible. Paid $75 for a wimpy arrangement that looked nothing like the photo. My mom wouldn't normally complain, but she sent me a photo of the arrangement and told me that she felt bad because the arrangement wasn't worth what I probably paid. I called and was given a very hard time by one of the staff members. It took at least two calls for them to do something about it. They ended up delivering another arrangement. It was too late by that point...they had already lost me as a customer for arguing with me and making me feel uncomfortable. read more

Placed my order online after confirming they could do next day delivery of the specific item. Received an email on the morning of delivery confirming "Your order has been received and processed for delivery." This would seem to indicate no problems and that the delivery is on its way. Much much later in the day, I received a call saying they were having problems finding someone to deliver in such a "remote" location. One would think you wouldn't take an order if you didn't already have vendors lined up in an area? By the time I received their message and called back, they were closed for the day. Now my mom's birthday is over and she didn't get her delivery. I'm expecting an apology and a full refund and hopefully a change to their policy to not take orders for places they don't actually deliver to. By the way, it's not that remote. If I could give zero stars, I would. They may be great for local deliveries in Sarasota, but I would certainly not recommend for anything else. I'm editing to add that after contacting them, I did not receive an apology, but the order was cancelled and refunded. First they told me that it would be an additional $40 to complete the delivery, even though it was already a day late. Um, what?!? So you missed my mom's birthday but now I should pay more money??? Absolutely ridiculous. On the plus side, they quickly agreed to cancel the order without any argument. I also felt that they were blaming me when I called and was told that they had repeatedly tried to contact me by phone and email and didn't get an immediate response. I did not receive an email until the next day after the delivery was supposed to happen and I did call once I got the message, but they were already closed. Even if I had responded, I would not have agreed to an additional $40. So thanks for ruining the tradition of flowers for my mom on her birthday. I tried to give business to a family-run operation instead of the big robotic flower companies, and this is what I get :( read more

Don't bother with Beneva. Although the ordering process seemed like a breeze, my mom didn't receive her flowers according to plan. She was on vacation with my aunts, and they addressed the flowers to Debbie, not Sue. I also had asked for there to be no roses included and for the bouquet to be very colorful, a similar looking arrangement to the 'Bright and Cheery" arrangement on the website. What was received were pastel hydrangeas and, you guessed it, roses! I never received a copy of my receipt until I had to call and ask and my card was also charged $15 more than I was quoted over the phone. Customer service "reviewed the tapes" and apparently I am a liar who did not make special requests and sometimes their receipts get lost in spam. Funny, because when I called and asked for the receipt to be sent it came to my inbox in less than a minute. And when I asked for them to play me "the tape of evidence" they couldn't. Businesses run on customer service. Although my mom received her flowers, they were not what I ordered. I was expecting someone to say "how can I make this right?" or "we will call the hotel and apologize to her for the confusion" but it never happened. After a too long conversation I was offered a gift card, which I would never use at this place. I was later offered a discount. Gladly taking that and not looking back. read more

I ordered a tropical arrangement with a anniversary balloon for my wife's special day. She was in hospital recovering from surgery. The delivery was for a Sunday, they said no problem. They delivered late afternoon, with no balloon, they even messed the message up on this special day. They admitted they got the message wrong, the person on the phone agreed that the message did not even make sense. All they offered me was the cost of the ballon!!. I hung up on them. Beware if your using them for a similar occasion . Very disappointing. Won't use them again. read more

I live out of state and needed a floral delivery for my mother in law. I found thus company on Yelp and decided to go for it! I was shocked and amazed they could get it done so fast. The arrangement was gorgeous and bigger and better than I expected. It made her 70th birthday so special! Thank you! read more

The orchid delivered was nothing like the web photo. They delivered, albeit promptly, an anemic looking orchid that looked like something from the reduced price table in the supermarket. Customer service argued that because it was two stemmed I should be satisfied with the disparity between a $65 plant and and a reject supermarket table plant. read more

I called Beneva Flowers at 11 AM and was told that my $145 floral arrangement would be delivered in the afternoon. I purchased the flowers from Beneva because I was told they would deliver this afternoon; otherwise, I would have gone to a different florist. The Web site says it is open until 6:00 PM. I called at 5:30 PM and was told "don't worry, your flowers are out in the van being delivered." It is now 8:40 PM and no delivery and no one at Beneva ever contacted me. Very disappointing service. I cannot judge the floral arrangement because I have not seen it. read more

If you have a loved one in Sarasota Memorial Hospital and would like to send them a beautiful flower arrangement these are the folks I would choose. I wanted brighten my wife's mood post zurgery and she loves flowers and plants. I went on line and selected just such a combination and ordered it for next day delivery. Unfortunately a large green plant in a basket was delivered more suitable for a business office waiting area. I called and the staff immediately understood the error and promised to correct the problem. Even their delivery driver called to say she would do her best to make it happen today. The beautiful floral arrangement was exactly what had been pictured with a green plant and beautiful flowers as well. The willingness to promptly correct a misundersranding speaks volumes to their commitment to true customer satisfaction and the joy of my wife's face over the gorgeous arrangement will insure my continued patronage. I would highly reccomend Beneva Florists fir all your needs for their expert artistry skills and their customer service. Thank you. read more

Something has happened to this previously wonderful company and it has frustrated me in my three most recent purchases. I think they changed from having a priority of being florists to being marketers. Fancy websites and pictures, but greatly decreased value, overbearing popups when ordering online trying to sell chocolates, balloons and everything they can think of. For a change from the "Dazzler" 2 years ago (they got smaller and smaller without the "upgrades") I upgraded to a $120+ live plant arrangement and when it came it had plants so packed into small pots there was no way they were going to be transplanted...I complained and the "plant expert" called me, to say that was proper and the way they did it on purpose...only one of them lived after being transplanted. Last year I ordered something labeled especially for "Longboat Key" where we live, and learned free delivery to Longboat Key was not included! There would be a $4.95 delivery charge. Only after calling (defeating the on-line ordering convenience) did they drop that charge. This year, because my amazing wife loves dahlias, I order the $45 fresh cut dahlias bowl at $44.95 (with a $10 discount ...but pressed for time not calling to drop the $4.95 delivery charge) ) I did not notice the scale---very small and had to be thrown out 5 days later from falling petals. I was embarrassed and drove to the local florist and bought a $50 arrangement that was beautiful. We were so impressed with Beneva when we first started ordering from them that my secretary place ALL our small company's orders through them...but I can't do that now. So...just be sure of what your expectations are before you buy...and watch out for those free delivery charges. read more
