There is no doubt about the quality and artistry that comes from Beneva Florists, however we had an extremely disappointing experience Saturday night at a Memorial Service. Our Community Board wanted to celebrate the life of a gentleman who had served in many capacities on the same Board. He was an avid golfer and we found the perfect arrangement for his service which required taking the donated golf clubs to Beneva and we were able to share the words to be written on the sympathy note for his family. The arrangement arrived - but there was no note or identification as to who sent the flowers so the family was clueless at the service and missed the kind words that surely would have shown their father's impact to this community. We contacted Beneva this morning and their response was "that just couldn't happen"... You can see this was a striking display and you can see the address card on the arrangement- but it was empty inside and so were we. read more

This used to be the go to for beautiful arrangements and high quality flowers... ordered a few weeks ago and the arrangement was nice, but for the price it seemed to be full of more generic/filler flowers. Slightly better versions of grocery store flowers (which cost significantly less). I was going to try again today but now they've added another $20 fee! That's on top of an already $12 for earlier delivery. I am truly bummed, but I can't justify another fee for delivery, good luck with that. read more

I had a non-generic request, so when I searched from work (Yelp is blocked) Beneva came up as having a 5 star rating on some other sites. I'm 3000 miles away and they promised to exceed my expectations....I have pretty high expectations and they managed to exceed them anyway! I ordered 42 red and white carnations but I couldn't send them in just a vase, etc. It had to be unique. The woman I talked with had to check with others to see if they could accommodate my request...they could. Then I needed it delivered before 7:30 am. At 4:29 am PDT I am getting texts on how amazing my present is....now THAT is what I'm talking about. Service!!! Plus the arrangement was gorgeous! And the flowers were FRESH! I don't know how they compare cost wise (I don't order a lot of flowers). However, if you want it done right and done on time, Beneva is the way to go. My best friend had her opening night of "In The Heights" at The Black Box Theater, and I had the opening night wrong. I discovered my mistake hours before the performance and was in a panic. There are so many things to say about this incredible florist that I don't know whether to make it short and sweet or long and elaborate. I suppose I will begin with the fact that there is no order to big or small, short, tall or unique that this florist can't handle. I have used them personally for my wedding and professionally while I was a Concierge at a local resort. The reviews are always amazing. From Mother's day bouquets to an outlandish candy basket I sent a friend after she had a baby I am never short of impressed. I have moved away from Sarasota to Los Angeles and now to Colorado Springs but since they can send things anywhere, I will still always use them. My mother's brother passed away and his funeral was at Sarasota National Cemetery. I ordered flowers from Beneva Flowers (my first time ordering from them). I placed my order over the phone for "Sympathy Wishes" from the patriotic line. The flowers were delivered to the cemetery on time. They were beautiful and looked as the website picture depicted. I used Beneva for a few years to send flowers to my mother for various holidays since I live out of town. My last experience was horrible. Paid $75 for a wimpy arrangement that looked nothing like the photo. My mom wouldn't normally complain, but she sent me a photo of the arrangement and told me that she felt bad because the arrangement wasn't worth what I probably paid. I called and was given a very hard time by one of the staff members. It took at least two calls for them to do something about it. They ended up delivering another arrangement. Placed my order online after confirming they could do next day delivery of the specific item. Received an email on the morning of delivery confirming "Your order has been received and processed for delivery." This would seem to indicate no problems and that the delivery is on its way. Much much later in the day, I received a call saying they were having problems finding someone to deliver in such a "remote" location. One would think you wouldn't take an order if you didn't already have vendors lined up in an area? By the time I received their message and called back, they were closed for the day. Now my mom's birthday is over and she didn't get her delivery. I'm expecting an apology and a full refund and hopefully a change to their policy to not take orders for places they don't actually deliver to. By the way, it's not that remote. If I could give zero stars, I would. They may be great for local deliveries in Sarasota, but I would certainly not recommend for anything else. I'm editing to add that after contacting them, I did not receive an apology, but the order was cancelled and refunded. First they told me that it would be an additional $40 to complete the delivery, even though it was already a day late. Um, what?!? So you missed my mom's birthday but now I should pay more money??? Absolutely ridiculous. On the plus side, they quickly agreed to cancel the order without any argument. I also felt that they were blaming me when I called and was told that they had repeatedly tried to contact me by phone and email and didn't get an immediate response. I did not receive an email until the next day after the delivery was supposed to happen and I did call once I got the message, but they were already closed. Even if I had responded, I would not have agreed to an additional $40. So thanks for ruining the tradition of flowers for my mom on her birthday. Don't bother with Beneva. Although the ordering process seemed like a breeze, my mom didn't receive her flowers according to plan. She was on vacation with my aunts, and they addressed the flowers to Debbie, not Sue. I also had asked for there to be no roses included and for the bouquet to be very colorful, a similar looking arrangement to the 'Bright and Cheery" arrangement on the website. What was received were pastel hydrangeas and, you guessed it, roses! I never received a copy of my receipt until I had to call and ask and my card was also charged $15 more than I was quoted over the phone. Customer service "reviewed the tapes" and apparently I am a liar who did not make special requests and sometimes their receipts get lost in spam. Funny, because when I called and asked for the receipt to be sent it came to my inbox in less than a minute. And when I asked for them to play me "the tape of evidence" they couldn't. Businesses run on customer service. Although my mom received her flowers, they were not what I ordered. I was expecting someone to say "how can I make this right?" or "we will call the hotel and apologize to her for the confusion" but it never happened. After a too long conversation I was offered a gift card, which I would never use at this place. I was later offered a discount. Gladly taking that and not looking back. read more

I ordered a tropical arrangement with a anniversary balloon for my wife's special day. She was in hospital recovering from surgery. The delivery was for a Sunday, they said no problem. They delivered late afternoon, with no balloon, they even messed the message up on this special day. They admitted they got the message wrong, the person on the phone agreed that the message did not even make sense. All they offered me was the cost of the ballon!!. I hung up on them. The orchid delivered was nothing like the web photo. They delivered, albeit promptly, an anemic looking orchid that looked like something from the reduced price table in the supermarket. I wanted brighten my wife's mood post zurgery and she loves flowers and plants. I went on line and selected just such a combination and ordered it for next day delivery. Unfortunately a large green plant in a basket was delivered more suitable for a business office waiting area. I called and the staff immediately understood the error and promised to correct the problem. Even their delivery driver called to say she would do her best to make it happen today. The beautiful floral arrangement was exactly what had been pictured with a green plant and beautiful flowers as well. The willingness to promptly correct a misundersranding speaks volumes to their commitment to true customer satisfaction and the joy of my wife's face over the gorgeous arrangement will insure my continued patronage. I called Beneva Flowers at 11 AM and was told that my $145 floral arrangement would be delivered in the afternoon. I purchased the flowers from Beneva because I was told they would deliver this afternoon; otherwise, I would have gone to a different florist. The Web site says it is open until 6:00 PM. I called at 5:30 PM and was told "don't worry, your flowers are out in the van being delivered." It is now 8:40 PM and no delivery and no one at Beneva ever contacted me. Very disappointing service.
