I used them two years ago and had a fantastic experience, but this one definitely fell short. I scheduled my move for 10 a.m. and received a text message at 2 a.m. the morning of my move rescheduling my appointment for later that morning. There was no explanation given in the automated message, and suffice it to say I was not happy (in addition to the automated message, I would have appreciated a quick mail explaining the reason for the reschedule, and offering me some sort of compensation for the inconvenience). I was even more unhappy when they arrived later than the rescheduled time. The movers worked very hard and given the number of steps and the amount of belongings, I felt that the amount of time the move took was acceptable. However, what made me most unhappy about this experience was the condition of my furniture when it arrived... and the subsequent lack of response. Before and after the move, they do a "walkthrough" to look at your furniture, note any pre-existing damage, as well as any damage that was sustained during the move. In theory it is a great idea, but in practice it was pretty pointless. It's almost impossible to thoroughly perform that task when there are boxes and bags all over the place, and you can barely move around in the house. The day after my move, as I'm unpacking and reorganizing my furniture, I noticed some damage to a few of my items. My bar suffered significant damage on both sides, to the point where some of the wood has been completely chipped off. One of my living room chairs had a really bad scratch on one of its back legs, and my dresser got a pretty bad scratch on the bottom. (Maybe the furniture was not wrapped properly. I don't know). I contacted the company immediately to inform them of the damage. In response, I was reminded of the walkthrough and was told that the owner would get back to me. He never did. The reason I chose to give repeat business to Jason and his company is because it was a small business run by a guy who really seemed to care about his customers, and wanted to do a good job at a great price. Since then, the prices have gone up, and the service (in terms of getting my items into my home undamaged) has gone way down. Moreover, this company has consistently demonstrated difficulty properly managing scheduled moves. This move was delayed because a job they booked the day before went longer than expected. My first move with this company was also delayed because Jason booked two jobs too close together and the job before mine also took longer than he expected. These delays should not impact the customer... and if they do, then the customer should be compensated for it. Otherwise, if you see you're getting behind, bring in some extra guys, and do what needs to be done to get to the next job on time. I really liked doing business with this company the first time and was hoping for a repeat performance. Sadly, that was not the case, and as a result, this will be my last time doing business with Quality Movers.

Quality movers?? How about unqualified movers! Where do I even start? First red flag; after…read morereceiving a reasonable quote over the phone, I asked about paying a deposit. Jason told me that I didn't have to pay one. I thought that was strange because I had never experienced that with a "professional" moving company. Initially, I just wanted them to load and unload my own moving truck. Then, the day before my move I decided that I would use their full services. Jason told me that it was not possible because it was last minute. Ummmmm, what type moving company does not have trucks available?? I don't care if it was the morning of. You're a moving company for goodness sake! So I'm like whatever. I did wait last minute I guess. Anywho, they showed up 20 min late but I didn't trip about that. A couple of hours into loading the truck, I notice a car has been outside all the while with a lady sitting in it staring me down. Astonishingly, it was the mover, Jason's wife! It must've been bring your wife and kids to work day and I clearly didn't get the memo. They literally loitered in front of my building for the entire 8 hour move (yes, I said 8 hours!) in the car waiting for them to finish. Why couldn't they stay home and he just come with the car? She was their ride. Seemed kind of fishy. Like did either of the movers not have a license? PEOPLE BEWARE. That could be a liability to you if your mover isn't licensed or insured. So after unloading the truck, Jason wants to talk fees. He came up with this outrageous fee that he calculated in his head. He wanted me to pay 30% more than what we initially agreed upon, based on a whole bunch of hidden fees that were not discussed during the initial quote. I was completely in shock. The audacity of this man to charge such an excessive amount with everything that transpired throughout the day. Let's go through the list of horrible things: 1.) I had to provide my own truck. 2.) He was late. 3.)He brought his wife and kids to work. 4.)They took FOREVER!! 5.) I had a truck with more than enough room and they didn't load the truck properly. I had to make several trips after the "move" in my car to finish getting my stuff. 6.)They tore the walls and doors to the brand new apartment so now I have to pay for painters. 7.)They tore up the deck to the patio which will require a paint job also. 8.) Scratched the top of my dryer that I was planning to sell (now it has rusted :/ ) 9.)Annnnd his wife's car battery died and she asked for a jump. 10.)They also took the liberty to help themselves to some of my stuff that I had off to the side for disposal. I expressed my grievances about the fee and that I was not paying that outrageous amount (HE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A TRUCK! ), which upset him. So guess what he does next? HE STOLE THE KEYS TO MY RENTAL TRUCK!!! I called and messaged his phone and asked him for the key with no reply. I finally had to just call the police. It was a complete nightmare. I have NEVER experienced anything like this before. I've used more reputable moving companies for less the time and half the cost. I'm so shocked at all these five star reviews. My experience was HELL. Moving is never a walk in the park -- I hired movers to make my life easier and this was the complete opposite. My experience with this company was unprofessional, unreliable, and completely UNACCEPTABLE.

It was someone new as we usually used local movers. We've moved multiple times within the many years we've been here in Maryland. This was a local move from Brewers Hill to Upper Fells, not far at all. I called to make sure they did local moves and they said yes. It seems as I called someone in California. They were very receptive initially. After I deposited the money, I didn't get any information until a few days before and I actually had to reach out to them first. I then got a call from someone that didn't really know the situation. Couldn't get a hold of the guy that initially started it all out. I was hoping for the best. All that aside, I was told the guys would call me 30 mins before. I got a call at 8 or so in the morning the day of. He did not have the addresses of any of the places. Found out he didn't have the right size truck. I was quoted an estimate and understood that it would probably be a bit over that, but not 500 dollars over. 1. Tried calling that day to get a hold of ANYONE...2. Guys started moving slower...understood but they only had 3 guys and I told the initial guy in california (in which he obviously didn't get a good understanding of how much we had) so the 2 bed house with a 10x10 storage unit and more boxes in the basement of the place we were renting...I told him I would even get pictures. ANYWAYS!!! Frustrated that it was taking way longer as the guys finally got to the house with, I thought, all of it...found out that it was not a big enough truck to make it all in one run. This pushed the amount much higher as they started to move slower. I realized that since this probably was not KERB...it was contracted out...the onus is on KERB for not getting a good understanding of what we had, not even calling me back the day of, and then trying to email and phone me after I had put up a bad review. Sorry, but you should have called me that day. You should have gotten a better estimate on what was being moved. If Yelp's not recommending software either deletes this or whatever it might be that they take it off again...I'll add it again. Not happy with Kerb or Yelp at this point. Hopefully people find this helpful and shop local.

We've used other movers in the past for similar long distance moves and in terms with overall experiences, Kerb was the best! They were very particular about arriving on time for pick up. With that being said, they were 15 mins late. Lol. But i have to say their hard work made up for it. The movers was very thorough with the package and handling ensuring that no items received had a slight scratch. These guys are definitely well trained professional movers. Amazing moving skills that I would of never ever thought about. These guys work with nothing but boxes, crates, tape, plastic and bubble wrap. We were amazed. The good new is nothing came ruin or broken full service of packing and unpacking. It doesn't get better than that. My family was left highly satisfied with the personal attention and responsibility taken by the company during the move. Gotta give these guys a try if anyone one looking for a long distance move.

Day of the move the team was late and I didn't receive communication. It also took 10 hours to move a 3 bedroom 2200 sq house to a 1600 sq foot townhome and we had to leave a number of items in the original home that I had to go back to retrieve on my own. I asked for patio furniture and a grill to be added day of (1 table, 6 stackable chairs, 2 wicker chairs with ottoman's) and am unsure if this contributed to the increased time of the move (the estimate I was given was for 7 hours). I was told dismantling the beds could be easily handled by the team, I mentioned I could handle them but didn't get to it in time so they dismantled them but then the screws were lost to one bed and they refused to put the other two children's beds together (citing liability which I was not informed of). I was left with multiple broken items (the leg and attachment of my dresser completely broke off, both my children's dresser legs were broken, there was a hefty chip on a buffet table, a plastic storage bin was broken, and my suede ottoman was covered in water after being placed near patio furniture. Freshly painted walls are now scuffed and several doorframes have dents/dings following completion of the move. It has been several weeks- I contacted the owner with photos of my broken items and was immediately told he would be happy to fix/replace things and asked for item numbers which I provided. Since then- nothing has been done and I assume nothing by will be done.

FINALLY with our most recent move, I now know who to go to. Travelstead Transportation Group was an amazing choice and I highly recommend it to anyone that has the opportunity to choose a moving company. Starting with the coordinating over the phone, they were very professional with getting an estimate and scheduling a walkthrough to take a survey. Once we landed on a quote, the moving process was super seamless. The team showed up early and were ready to get started. Super professional and no surprises as they were very communicative with what they were doing, timelines, etc. They were even able to cut down some costs from the quote based on how they were able to consolidate some packing/supplies to not use as much (but without compromising safety of goods). After everything was said and done (finished with more than an hour to spare from the original quote), there were no damages and they assembled everything that they took apart. Don't get me wrong, the price tag is a bit high but with moving companies, you get what you pay for. I'd gladly pay that amount again for the level of service that was provided. Will definitely consider hiring again (hopefully I don't have to move again in the near future).
