I want to start this off on a positive note so I will say that our coffee cups were always full, and that the service was excellent and very friendly. But the food was underwhelming and might I say very disappointing. My partner ordered the nordeaster Benedict I ordered the classic with a side of the sweet potato hash. We also decided to try the monkey bread to split it, and a pomegranate mimosa to top it all off. The monkey bread was incredibly dry and does not actually fit the definition of what monkey bread it's supposed to be. Both of the English muffins for the Benedict's were dry and burnt. The hollandaise sauce had zero flavor and was extremely thin. The most disappointing part to me was the sweet potato hash it tasted like nothing it had zero flavor I had to put so much salt and pepper just to bear through a couple bites. My partners lobster was overcooked and extremely chewy. Although this place is a very beautiful location the food was dry and bland. All the way through. The mimosas were strong, but flavorless. If I can title this review it would be called "Flavorless, an expensive journey through the dry and bland" This place is also extremely expensive which is fine but only if the food is going to be quality I would recommend no one to this restaurant, sorry. read more

I really want to love this place. It's bright and clean. But the staff always seams like their irritated because I get it.... It's a brunch place and we don't drink. But our money is still green. I am visiting from out of town and decided to stop into Benedict's for breakfast because of the great reviews. We sat at the bar when we arrived to wait for a table on the patio, ordered a carafe of mimosas and were served immediately - the bartender was friendly, responsive- phenomenal, and I would give her alone 5 stars. Our food was good, but our service was just, off. Our server was admittedly new and particularly scatter brained this morning. I won't list every detail of the transaction, but to shed some light - she at one point told the table behind us that she couldn't read her own handwriting, and had to retake their order.. What was actually more upsetting than the fact that we received poor service due to our server clearly being in the weeds, was that some of her co-staff were actually being rude to her with regards to needing assistance in an otherwise nearly empty restaurant. This would be the perfect place for a bunch of girlfriends to go grab brunch. The inside is so pretty!! LOVED the atmosphere. We put our name on the wait-list using the Yelp app before going (and glad we did, because we didn't have to wait long at all when we arrived). The location is what drives a lot of people here. It's expensive for what you get and would call the food decent. Except the pancakes. They were cold and had the texture of bisquik. The host wasn't overly friendly and not a great position for her if smiling is not something she enjoys. The booth was dirty and may have been from the day before. I just finished breakfast at Benedict's. I was sitting at the bar so I had a great view of food being prepared and sat up on warming shelf until food runner would pick up food and deliver plates. He was sick. He communicated his illness to my server ( guy behind the bar). My server began concocting some special remedy herbal tea calling it a health bomb for his coworker, all the while the sick food runner touching all the plates with his fingers actually touching inside the plates where the food sits as he is grabbing plates from the warming shelf and delivering them all around the restaurant. When I asked my server if he was in fact sick, he said "yes". Meanwhile another server talks with my server and chats about how it's the season for illness and the sick food runner is delivering plates of food that his sick fingers have touched and I'm imagining all the people who will get very sick from their trip to Benedict's. I confronted my server and he didn't care. Don't risk your health by going there. I guess being sick does not preclude a server from touching all the food before it's presented to you. We were on the same day waiting list. It did take a bit longer than expected but, somewhat understandable considering our size of 11 adults. Once we were sat we were told that there were other large partys. The server suggested some starters and fun drinks. Once we had starters he took our main order. It was a simple Bloody - meaning it didn't have all the fancy flare that can be a meal in itself. But it was so good - one of the best I've had in a long tIme. Update- went back again yesterday. They have a variety of different juices to pick from for your mimosas, plenty of different pancake options and you can even do a pancake flight which is picking 3 different pancake styles, totally worth it being able to try out so many in one sitting. This is a bright and airy restaurant! I happened to dine here on a beautiful sunny morning and the restaurant felt completely sun-kissed. We were promptly seated at 9am on a Saturday but the restaurant filled up quickly so I'd arrive early if you want to avoid a wait for breakfast. Our server said we could have it prepared half caramel and half cream cheese instead of choosing between the two options as the menu indicates. For my meal I opted for the California Benedict. I figured at a place called Benedict's it would be wise to choose a Benedict. The dish was very tasty although heavy on the spinach, which was heavily sautéed down, not fresh and crunchy. I didn't order the hollandaise with mine, but fortunately a friend ordered it with her dish and shared with me because it really is needed.
