I first discovered this boutique after finding out that they carried The Little Bra Company bras. I made an appointment with the store owner Allison to get a proper fitting and try some bras on. This shop is so lovely. It's located on Division street near some great restaurants and in downtown Somerville. It's very classy, elegant, but not uppity. I felt totally at home with Allison. She made me feel very comfortable and reminded me of my love for lingerie! Allison is easy going and professional. She carries many lingerie brands; my favorite being Eberjey. So gorgeous! I tried on two basic bras from LBC and they fit my petite frame perfectly! I even bought a gorgeous night slip from Eberjey. It is so comfy and dressy at the same time! Love, love, love. There's something for everyone here! You can even create a wish list so your significant other can surprise you with something lacy. Hint hint! It's important to shop local. Ally was truly amazing! Loved her energy and she was so positive and professional. I felt absolutely comfortable talking to her about my sizing and she was so informative. I've known I've been wearing the wrong size bras for years, and I was blown away by how much of a difference a properly fitted bra really makes. I love the wide style variety they carry. I wasn't feeling pressured to buy everything, Ally respected my choices and was able to help me find the best options for me. I've truly revamped my bra selections - the pieces I bought are both so pretty and very comfortable. Was it expensive? Yes, but definitely an investment for my comfort! The quality of materials was so worth it, compared to the other big chain stores. Imagine how much money you'll waste buying a bunch of bras from VS or Aerie that won't fit you properly, or will be made of poor quality materials. I am an top heavy 52 year old who came in here on a recommendation. All I can say is wow! I wish I had come here years ago!! The place is gorgeous and the personal service is great!! Allison knew my size just by looking at me. She fit me into a great bra AND solved my wedding dress problem. In today's age I feel like customer service is a thing of the past. Can't rave enough. I've been fitted for bras SO many times - at places like the Gap (don't) to places in NYC that are supposed to be THE experts. And yet for I don't know how many years I've been dealing with cups that gap, straps that fall, and bras that move every time I do. But I figured that was just the way it was - especially for those of us who might not NEED them, if you know what I mean. Well apparently I was wrong. Found this place on yelp and am so so glad. Not only does Alison (the owner) know what she is talking about, she also is friendly, kind and downright fun to work with. (For bra fittings. Really. Fun.) Do not shop here unless you are 200% positive you are keeping the item. We were told we could return anything if we were unhappy with it. We never saw signs that stated, returns for store credit only, Nor did we see it on the receipt. Completely our mistake but when someone tells me we can return something, I don't feel a need to distrust them and have to look at the actual receipt. A dispute with American Express has already begun although the owner looked right at my daughter and rudely said, good luck with that. read more

This place was absolutely fantastic. I made an appointment online for a bra fitting, and the owner contacted me directly to confirm. After getting mis-fit for bras numerous times at chain lingerie stores, I knew I wanted a professional to help me find the right fit. Allison was cheerful and helpful, and was there very much to help me look my best and not just get an easy sale. There were many expensive bras I tried on that she rejected because they didn't fit correctly. The store itself carries a lot of off-sizes that most stores will never have--and in sexy, feminine, YOUNG styles! (Allison got the store from her great-aunt, who catered more to an older clientele, and she was determined to bring new life to the store.) They also have lingerie sized by bra size, which is something I can rarely find. I did end up buying three bras from the store, at just a little more expensive than Victoria's Secret bras, but these bras fit amazingly and I feel sexy and confident in them. Can't ever find my size bra in any conventional store, was reduced to wearing sports bras for the last year and a half cuz I was sick of buying bras that didn't fit right. Decided to try to find real bras that actually fit and Beneath it all was my first stop... I didn't need to go anywhere else! They had plenty of styles in my size to choose from, and prices were reasonable (similar to VS bit these are well made and will last longer). Mary, the employee who was helping me, was super sweet and understanding. She listened to my needs and concerns and found lots of options for me. She was also honest about what looked/fit right and I never felt any pressure if I didn't like something! Made an appointment online; when I arrived they had my size info and preferences ready, and I was in and out in 30 minutes with two sale bras, really nice pjs in a perfect print for me and a lace face mask. This place is great. The staff is incredible and very knowledgeable. I went in for a fitting and she knew exactly what would fit just by looking at me. It is a little bit on the pricey side but I feel that it's definitely worth it for the quality. Their products will last a lot longer then chain brands. What a great experience! I was shopping for undergarments for my wedding dress. Other lingerie shops would put me in uncomfortable, unflattering, corsets until I found beneath it all. I had expressed to the sales associate what I was looking for, she eyeballed me and pulled out the most beautiful wedding corset. Not only did it fit perfectly but it made me feel so sexy and pretty. When I went for my dress fitting, I had on the new corset and was delighted to find that it worked perfectly with my gown, was slimming, and very comfortable. I came here on a whim because I had walked by it a thousand times and just happened to be early for a class across the street. I'm so glad I did - the owner, Allison is phenomenal. She is a natural at making you feel comfortable and finding your perfect style and fit. The store is decorated nicely and they carry many of the same popular brands that I've seen in both Bloomingdales and anthropologie. The owner, Allison, helped me find the perfect undergarment ensemble that's flattering, sexy, and fell within my budget (which I told her of while she helped me look). I had a wonderful experience last weekend at this store. I came in for the first time after scheduling an appointment to be fitted for a bra for my wedding dress which a low back and difficult neckline. I had previously tried on a few pieces at the wedding dress store I went to, but they were expensive, uncomfortable and I did not feel that the staff was able to fit me appropriately. I unfortunately can't remember the name of the person who helped me, but I believe she might be the owner and she was extremely kind and helpful. I told her that I had recently changed weight and she helped me to understand my new size and picked an incredible piece that not only looks amazing, but is super comfortable that I can't wait to wear on my wedding day. She also helped me pick out two new daily wear bras in my new size based on my preferences and after wearing them a few times this week- the difference is definitely noticeable. Of course it is more expensive than going to a chain store, but the service is wonderful and their products are extremely high quality, so I think I'll need to repeatedly replace my bras the way I do with ones I bought at Target. This shop is just plain fun to visit. Great location and a great store owner, Alison. She's great at reading people and helping you find just what you are looking for! I bought a long line bra here for my wedding dress which had a bit of a low back. She was super-helpful in finding the one that fit me best, despite my whining about it being too tight! :D It gave me the perfect foundation for the dress - no pulling the dress up all night. It really showed off my shape too. Alison provides great service - even reserving the bra for me when I was too busy to call back to schedule a pick up. It was still waiting for me when I was ready. I used to love this place. It was the only spot I would buy my undergarments and have spent a lot of money being a loyal hard to fit client. Since I loved and trusted Beneath It All so much I had my Mom come and get fitted. The owner Allison gave my Mom two bras to try which throughout the fitting my Mom kept saying felt too tight. Allison insisted over and over it was the correct size so against her better judgment my Mom bought one and I bought her the other. My Mom was unsure about the size but thought that since the owner Allison is a "specialist" we should trust that the bras would fit and was supposed to be very tight. My Mom being so excited to have new bras (and assured these would be the perfect fit) took the tags off of one of the bras and wore it around the house. Not even an hour later she had to take it off because it was so tight (even on the loosest settings) it was making her feel physically sick. I will be honest and add that this happened in May of last year. Should my Mom have gone back to the store immediately and tried to exchange or return the bras? Yes absolutely but like so many Moms would understand she works full time and on top of that is a teacher to my little brother. She devotes much of her time to him and rarely has the time to do things for her self for example going to a bra shop to get refitted! An ordeal that can take over an hour just to find the perfect bra! I also work and am very busy but since I have more free time than her I figured I would run them down to the shop on my day off and see if there was anything at all that could be done perhaps store credit or an easy exchange for the next size up. I was even willing to buy new bras and undergarments that day if it meant she would take back my Moms two incorrectly fitted unworn bras. Allison pointed to a sign on the counter that said there was a 14 day time limit for products to be exchanged. Now of course I know it had been a while since we had purchased the bras but that sign was definitely not on the counter when we made our original purchase nor does the receipt state any information about returns or exchanges. Allison proceeded to take out the bras from the original bag and in a very passive aggressive way stated that there was hair on them and that they were "smooshed" and there was no way she could resell them. I was absolutely appalled! There was NO hair on these bras nor were they "smooshed"!!!! These bras were placed nicely in the original bag with the original receipt! I was shocked at how Allison was not willing to work with a loyal customer! These bras were in perfect condition. Needless to say I will never shop at Beneath It All again. Allison has lost my business and I will for sure spread the word to all of my friends! Part of running a business is being able to be flexible to please the client especially if they are a loyal repeat client. I would have easily spent $200+ today but because of her unwillingness to make a one time exception I left and will never return. I will take my business elsewhere! read more

I only gave one star because I could not give no stars. I have been buying specialty bras for about all my life. I was excited to have a closer store to where I live. The owner was very nice,however the bras were by far the worse ones I ever bought in my life. She either measured me incorrectly,or the bras are of poor quality and do not last. I will never return. She took my number because she ran out of nipple shields. She said she would call me when they came in,never called. She got my business and did not care about follow up. I will travel far to go to my other stores. This store is not worth it. read more

Finding a proper fitting bra for well endowed teen was an impossible task until we found this store and the owner Allison. She was incredibly patient and my daughter warmed to her quickly. We have returned and in a short time scored a strapless and regular bra as well as two great camisoles.
