This is the second time I came into this business where the lady in the front desk was rude and unfriendly to me. When I walked in, she stared at me (she wasn't busy at the time), never smiled, never said hello and curtly said, "What is your name?" in an annoyed rude curt tone. BUT ONE MINUTE LATER a Caucasian male walked in and she was super sweet as pie to him and said "Hello! How can I help you Sir? What is your name please?" Totally different treatment like night and day. She treated him with the utmost respect in front of me one minute after she treated me like crap. When I complained they told me to find another dentist which I did. My dentist who I have been with for years now is a million times better than this one. The old female who is the receptionist is a miserable hateful person who dislikes Asians obviously. Their lame response below "We are sorry you feel this way" is NOT an apology. It is a non-apology that has no empathy and has no accountability for the receptionist's rudeness; and they are implying that my feelings are the problem. It is a really crappy and fake response that reflects their lack of empathy.

They charge $67.50 for cancelled appointments and they write a ridiculous charge on a sticky note and expect you to pay it. I was given a set amount of $150 for gas for the root canal over the phone before setting my appointment. When I get there and confirm my charges, they changed that $150 to $250 then when I said no to that amount and stated that I wouldn't go through with the appointment, they said they were going to add an additional amount to their ridiculous cancellation fee. This place is a joke. Please do not choose and trust this dentistry to something as important as your teeth. The one star rating was just because Dr Marshall was friendly.

I have been going to Dr. Givan for over 30 years, twice yearly. I have had excellent care and…read morealways felt warmly welcome. Dr. Givan himself is a very personable and pleasant practitioner. His hygienists have always been top-notch, and my current hygienist, Rhonda, carries on that tradition well. All of the office staff are very professional and friendly. In addition to my routine cleanings I have had several crowns and fillings and I have a long-term "pocket" behind one of my molars where there was incomplete closure after wisdom teeth removal in the army 40+ years ago! Dr. Givan always checks this very carefully and he and I are able to manage this to both of our satisfactions. Despite the fact I am a retired cancer physician, I have to confess to letting a white spot on my tongue go untreated for many years, despite Dr. Givan recommendations that I have it further evaluated. As it turned out I developed a small cancer there that was removed by Dr. Jesse Smith (Head and neck surgery, also an excellent physician!) and Dr. Givan continues to keep a close eye on this area. I could not be happier with my care from Dr. Givan and his staff.

I have always spoken to Jamie and Cristina at the front desk and this new lady thinks very highly of herself. I told the doctor if he had ever gotten a complain from anyone else and he said I was rude. I told him it was just the lady with the hair done and long lashes and he said it was "F****d up" IN THOSE words that I was "making fun of someone's appearance " I told him on the contrary- I'm telling him she clearly focuses too much on her appearance than customer service and he walked off. I agreed to never call to schedule anything anymore and asked Jamie to please just call or email. The doctor also told me they are bending over backwards for me, and that they are not charging me. I've paid over 10k in treatment at this office. He claims that my first Invisalign treatment failed because I stopped coming to the visits? Then I'm really confused who did my root canals and multiple crowns and fillings throughout this whole time. As a domestic abuse survivor, getting yelled at by a man is a huge trigger because my body absolutely feels like I'm going to get striked across the face next. I left with my hands shaking and apologized to Jamie and Talicia who is my Invisalign specialist. I was given my next 3 trays and feel so sad the doctor decided to use cursing to express his viewpoint to me this morning while in a chair and the door was closed. Could have definitely handled better but I am just such a dread as a person and a patient.
