The service has, so far, been rock solid; I've not had any outages. The speed is OK without being great (I get a maximum of about 20mbps down). What sucks is the data caps, and the price therein. I find the idea of data caps in this day and age laughable. I'm having to pay $189 a month for 400Gb download, which is just about enough, though I am close to the cap every month (after which I'll pay an additional 50c per Gb), and I don't regard us as heavy users. Companies like this have been the only game in town for people in rural areas for a long time, so they've been able to price gouge. While they offer very pleasant service (they are a nice company to deal with), there's no escaping the fact that I'm being ripped off, but given my alternative is DSL at 1.5mbps, I've got no choice, and they know it. But as soon as Starlink expands to my area, I'll be off. Companies like this are quite rightly going to be killed as soon as proper competition comes along.

I had very high hopes when I started service with BendTel. They seemed to have solid customer…read moreservice and reasonable options for a local ISP. They even worked with me on price. Unfortunately that's before I was sold on one service, and then slipped a contract for a different service that operates at 1/10 the speed and locked into a 2 year contract. I'm a business owner, not a network engineer. A difference like that needs to be explained before just giving me a bait and switch inside of a contract. When I reached out to try and come to a resolution I was Chastised by my sales person Doug because I contacted the wrong account manager who coincidentally seemed to be the only person willing to help. After that I simply wanted to be let you of the contract I was tricked into agreeing to. Today I was informed that the cancellation cost would be over 4 thousand dollars. I'm absolutely sick to my stomach over the experience, and can't believe its happening from a local company inside of Bend.

Also require they establish your password, they know it and you can not change. Seems strange to have to share password to my business email account with their staff. Started service on 9/25/18, cancelled on 10/29/18 and one and only bill was $662.58. That is $20.00 per day!! I had 3 phone lines and internet service for a one person office!!!! Would not recommend.

Wha?! I call back, wait on hold for 45 min until a real person answers, make sure they understand I've already spent 45 min troubleshooting over the phone and it's their tech who told me to make a service appointment. Appointment day arrives, I wait at home for tech during the four hour window, 3 1/2 hours in I get a call: we're running an hour late. An hour and a-half later 5 two techs finally arrive. They make some adjustment, say it's all fixed, and in 30 min. they are gone. That's truly noteworthy service. Next-day update: Conducted a speed test of my high-speed BendBroadband service: 0.53 Mbps download, 5.13 Mbps upload.

Unfortunately, when I encountered a problem with my iPhone today (7/7/2023) I had forgotten the name of the computer shop I used a couple of years ago. I did a Google search and saw that Redmond Computers & Internet Services is in a small strip mall in downtown Redmond, so thinking this was the right shop I brought my iPhone in so they could have a look. I was promptly greeted by a nice woman and her dog. I described the symptoms and the phone was given to a tech to take a look at it. Now keep in mind that this shop clearly advertises free diagnosis so I was expecting them to look at, tell me their interpretation of the underlying issue, and then tell me how much it would be to fix it. Instead, the technician came out and said I needed a new charging cord because there were no issues when the phone was on is charging cables. OK, I can take care of that myself so I'll just take my phone and go, right? Wrong! The owner said, "Charge him for 15 minutes of labor at $100/hour." Wait ... what? What happened to free diagnosis? I would like this business to do the right thing and give me back my money. They didn't give me a free diagnosis they gave me a paid diagnosis. Oh, by the way, the great computer store I had used the first time turned out to be Simplify Simple and they had moved to a larger facility near Fred Meyer. They will get all of my business going forward.
