Words can't describe this rock gym. You just have to experience it yourself. Incredible routes, awesome service, and super nice people. We've climbed rock gyms from Alaska to Arizona. This is hands down the best! read more

Really cool gym, so many options for climbing. Great route setting. I'd enjoy this gym as my home gym, but I enjoy my visits when I'm in the area. read more

Honestly the other customers are pretty rad. The climbing routes are 10/10. I can tell the route setters put in good effort. The manager, Tim, is weird though. He can't say a single good thing about his staff. He smells off too. read more

I love this gym. It's a great gym with amazing routes. My buddies and I tried it out. Could say we were throughly impressed, climbing UT, AZ, and some other places. I would say it's a great gym for what it is! Also rental equipment is fair and not super overpriced as other places are. Definitely would recommend read more

the best if is cold out side go and climb 1 hour to spare love it will be going agin

A fun spot for when it's pouring in Smith Rock or you only have a couple of hours to spare. They have ropes and bouldering along with some training boards if you're into that. We came for a drop-in while visiting Bend and enjoyed the bouldering and auto-belays. A quarter of the gym was closed due to route-setting but we didn't have issues finding problems to do. They have everything you could desire -- caves, slab, tall, short, vertical etc. There's also tons of hang out areas so you can chill out if your friends still have some gas in the tank. Wifi is also available. We found the staff really friendly and parking easy in the lot out front. read more

I've been climbing since 2012 and have visited dozens of gyms across the US. The vibe at this gym is awful. It does not serve real Climers nor does it uphold the good vibes associated with climbing culture. After paying over $100 in dues while not using my membership due to COVID I received a $47 credit. I recently came back to reactivate my member ship and asked them to wave the $50 dollar fee. They said no. And that credit.... Apparently it's gone now. That's what I get for trying to help this place through tough times. Greedy and corporate feeling... not what climbers are about. read more

At my offsprings high school graduation I will need to send a thank you card to the BRG for co parenting with kindness and encouragement. The staff is amazing and the facilities are clean. It's a safe place in town where everyone is welcome and supported as they play. We love this place! read more

Awesome gym, super friendly and helpful staff. Routes change regularly. I really like the auto-belays, which allow for wall climbing without needing a partner. There is also top rope and lead climbing, and an extensive bouldering section. Also two auto-rock walls, one motorized and the other counterbalanced. They have a few pieces of gym equipment, but the primary focus is climbing. Looking forward to the expansion! read more

Took our nephew here today. What a great facility. We had to drag him out after nearly four hours. Staff friendly and helpful. We saw kids from very young on up. They were loving it. Cost very reasonable. read more

Bend Rock Gym - That's Tom on the left - Gyms Near Me - Bend, Oregon

This is a fantastic facility suitable for all levels. I have seen children as young as 3 years climbing, and people lead climbing on 5.13 (and higher) routes. It is beautifully maintained, clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, with spotless restrooms. I'm a climbing newbie, myself, and was reassured by the very-friendly staff that I'd find lots of interesting and accessible routes for my level. They weren't kidding. There are many routes equipped with auto-belay systems, so it's easy to do solo top-roped climbs. Every auto-belay line has at least three different routes, usually ranging from 5.6 to 5.11. Additional features include a slack line in a grassy enclosed courtyard, a treadwall, and the usual assortment of gym machines in an upstairs room. We are very, very lucky to have an extraordinary facility like this in Bend. Worth every penny! read more

this place is bouldering heaven!! the facility is very spacious and open with tons of boulder problems. and the ropes walls are so high! we came on a day pass which cost $20 per adult, and the staff were super helpful and welcoming. we'll be back next time we're near bend! read more

Pretty good. And not because it's the best, most updated, snazzy facility (although it's not bad, especially for the size of Bend). Or because it's priced well (although it is, appropriately.) But because of the staff; they are the friendliest, genuinely helpful, skilled, together and cool.* Thank you! * with one exception; he knows who he is... read more

Can I leave 6+ star reviews?! I wish I could because Bend Rock Gym deserves it. The staff here is so nice, friendly and always willing to answer silly questions. This rock gym is never overwhelmingly packed like others I've been too. Even on the busiest of times there's room to climb. I especially love the vibe of the gym. I'm a new climber and I always feel comfortable climbing around those that are experts. The crowd is welcoming and always happy. read more

We were there for the USA Nationals bouldering Comp. Thanks for taking care of the coaches. Your staff are awesome; enjoyed the routes and clean facility. read more

This record-breaking winter gave me some serious cabin fever and had me literally climbing the walls at Bend Rock Gym. This is a stellar facility to have in a town our size. I've only experienced the bouldering and autobelay routes - there's a huge variety of them with difficulty ratings for all levels. There's plenty of routes to keep you busy for days! I've only been in with experienced climbers or for awesome Yelp events, so haven't had a lot of interaction with the staff. My nephew took a beginner's lesson and had great things to say about his instructor. I'm a pretty novice climber, so can't elaborate on a lot of the technical awesomeness at the facility. I just know having the rock gym so close kept me from going stir crazy when I couldn't get outside the last couple months. read more

Was in town for the weekend, visited w/ a bunch of my friends to climb Smith, but it was raining so we came here to check it out- had a blast. The customer service from the staff was fantastic. I've been to gyms where the staff are a bit to uppity- at this gym, they were chill and helpful while maintaining high standards of service and safety! The vibe of the gym and locals were very cool. Someone at this gym sets great routes- Overall- zero complaints and left the place happy! read more

Super fun and the staff is awesome! I always have a great time there and I love the constant changes to the routes. My daughter is pretty shy, and the staff has always been awesome with her. Which has really helped develop her love of climbing. read more

Wonderful experience! Great staff. Far more auto belays than ive ever seen in a gym so it makes it easy to rope climb alone. Tons of problems & routes. Awesome setters, the routes/problems are really fun. A few cracks to climb. Great features. Nice little workout room. Gear for sale at a reasonable price. Great food truck outside. Out of the 12 or 13 gyms ive climbed in over the years this is top 4. Go have some fun. read more

When I first moved to Bend, the rock gym was tiny. You've gotta cut them some slack. Why would people climb indoors when Smith Rock is around the corner? Well, since then things have changed. The size has probably grown to 10 times what it used to be. Their route setters are geniuses. For an indoor gym there really isn't much better, and I have climbed at most of the larger gyms around the country. This is an indoor space yet you will find cracks of varying sizes, chimneys, stemming routes, and even the occasional hidden knee bar. This is a great place. I'm very lucky to have it in my town. Almost forgot to mention I also have a small workout gym, yoga classes, showers in the bathroom, and lots of other great "features" (hehe). read more

So my sister was visiting me in Bend and couldn't rock climb because I'm not her parent. I know it's the law but what the heck am I supposed to do? By the way, I'm over 21. Thanks Bend Rock gym for ruining her day. I'm never coming back here again. You won't have my business. read more

Love Bend Rock Gym. Great place for bouldering with a huge layout, great overhangs, and a variety of difficulties. Super family friendly and everyone that works there is approachable and helpful. Best climbing gym I have been too. read more

Great gym when I visited awhile back! Love auto-belay back-up option for addressing no-show climbing partners. Do wish they had a better weight room to avoid multiple memberships. As for the last review: Seriously??? You're gonna blame the gym for law regarding minors?? Wow... read more

Literally as good as it gets. 48 ft. walls. Huge bouldering sections with routes that change every 3 days. The staff is incredibly passionate for climbing but arn't too cool to talk to beginners. They have nice restrooms, good drinking fountains, areas to just chill out and relax and they even have a rock climbing treadmill. I was blown away. Since I started climbing a year ago, I try to visit as many different gyms as I can to get a vibe for what's out there. This gym kicks the ass of my home gym in Eugene. If I could give it another star, I would. Go here and climb. One last note: bring headphones because when I was here they played dubstep/techno jams the whole time. Also it's a bit expensive but to me, it's worth it. read more

Just had my daughter's birthday party there! 8 girls---shy at first, but once they got going we couldn't get them to leave! Staff was friendly, and attentive. Place is amazing, and great for all ages. Only gripe was the party room, could be just a bit cleaner--tables and chairs looked pretty dirty. read more

This place was so fun for both my kids and I. 15 auto belays meant that I could climb while my kids climbed!

From L.A. And came to climb at smith and we climbed at smith for a few days then got rained out so we took our party in to the gym and had a great time. Pretty great and climbing great staff. read more

I want to give a public shout out to Ben and Kevin. Great customer service from both of them and the rest of the staff! You all "rock" (haha) read more

Years ago I took a rock climbing class here. It was right when they just finished the larger building in the back. It was an extremely fun way to be introduced to rock climbing. So when I heard a few fellow yelpers wanted to try this place out, I jumped on the opportunity. The managers were very helpful with the event I planned here. They gave me more then enough information to plan my event and allowed us to use their Party Room. We setup a scavenger hunt for people to find random items along the walls in exchange for prizes. The other users of the gym were all friendly and respectful while the event was taking place. Whether you are local in central Oregon or visiting from out of town. This gym is a great way to be active and stay out of the weather during the Bend Winters. They have multiple areas for top rope climbing, auto belays, bouldering areas and the employees will give you the pointers you need to stay safe. Another good bit of information is to know the size of the gym. This is great as it can be very busy at the gym, but its so big you have plenty of routes to move around to. There were several water fountains and bathrooms in the center of the gym as well. I plan on visiting this gym time and time again! Thanks guys! read more

Bend Rock Gym has the worse customer service in the world. They don't try to resolve issues with customers and don't even care about customers. They really need to take some classes on how to keep customers happy. Good luck with your attitude! read more

Best Place Ever! My family LOVES BRG! Great place to have a birthday party too!

The only thing wrong with this place is that I don't live closer! The staff were friendly and accessible, and the other people there were all relaxed and considerate of each other. Even as novice who doesn't climb reguarly I had a lot of fun and felt both safe and challenged. read more
