I was really disappointed with my experience at this acupuncture office. Before my appointment, I…read morespent quite a bit of time on the phone with the office manager going over insurance details and paperwork. I confirmed several times that my insurance covered the visit and that my copay would be $35. I was also reminded (repeatedly) about their $75 cancellation policy, which I agreed to. When I arrived for my first appointment, I was suddenly told my copay would actually be **$70** -- apparently one for an "office visit" and one for the treatment itself. This was never mentioned during any of our prior conversations, and it felt deceptive. The treatment itself was underwhelming, and I left with noticeable bruising. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would recommend double-checking all costs and details in writing before scheduling here.

I've seen chiropractors, PTs and massage therapists in the past but have long been intrigued by the benefits of acupuncture so decided to give it a try in this moment of pain. Within a few treatments I had mobility back, I could turn my head without pain, lift my child and sleep well. I will say that being new to acupuncture, I had no idea what to expect. To give a sense of what's to come: First, you'll fill out a rather long form to help ID areas where acupuncture could help. Then, you head to the room and meet with the acupuncturist who will have reviewed your form, check a few other things like your pulse and under your tongue, and then talk treatment. From there, on to the table (think massage table) where they place the needles and whatever else treatment calls for and you lay there (take a nap) for however long your provider recommends. They will be there to check on you from time to time. You should plan about 60-90 minutes for an appointment. Also, don't forget your mask. In my experience, it was well worth the time but that was a surprise. The results have been incredible and I plan to work acupuncture into my wellness routine.

So I had my husband dial the number for me to call their office. The lady "Lauren" or "Laurie" refused to schedule an appt for me and saying "They would not schedule an appt for me unless I fill out some forms online." I explained to her that I could not do it online and if I could schedule it over the phone and fill out the rest of the forms when I come earlier for the appt. She was very cold and had no compassion and kept repeating "They would not schedule any appts over the phone or in person". Awful customer service! What if you are blind, old, disabled or just not good with technology. Making online forms "mandatory" for everyone and refusing service to patients just because they can't fill out online forms is just not acceptable.

After benefiting from community acupuncture's healing environment and affordability many years ago,…read moreI was excited to discover that Bend has a clinic offering a similar opportunity. Mark's attentive, empathetic listening and skill as a practitioner were especially comforting and beneficial. The peaceful and professional nature of the clinic feels unique and provided me with much-needed reprieve while I was experiencing both physical pain and emotional overwhelm. Mark's familiarity with other healing modalities I've been using lately was also very helpful, and I'm especially grateful that he graciously supplemented the acupuncture with Zero Balancing multiple times. I'm very much looking forward to receiving treatment at Bend Community Healing the next time I'm in town and highly recommend it to anyone seeking holistic, intentional, and compassionate care.

I have been receiving acupuncture and other body work most of my life for chronic and acute conditions, and he is a skilled acupuncturist and Zero Balance practitioner, and he has helped me tremendously in the short time I've been seeing him. He holds a very loving and accepting space for his clients no matter how much they can or can't pay. My dream is that many more therapists of all kinds will follow his lead in making their services more accessible.

Within minutes of my first session with Dr. Dishman I knew she was a true gem. She was someone whom I could trust and someone who had the utmost integrity and passion in her work and her need and drive to help the people around her permeated throughout her whole being - inside and outside of the clinic. For the next two years I would continue to see Dr Dishman on a regular basis as my health continued to improve with her treatments and guidance through education about the body, recommended diet for my specific health issues, supplements, acupuncture and a whole assortment of other Chinese medicine practices. Over the past decade I have consulted with Dr. Dishman for numerous health issues and concerns, all the while we were both living on opposite coasts (she and her family moved to Raleigh, NC and I had relocated to Los Angeles). Even though we were not in the same city and I could not visit her for clinic treatments, she still treated me with the same thoughtfulness, care and warmth that I had experienced back in her Portland clinic. Taking the time to write detailed plans for suggestions, supplements, etc. - treating every patient she had with the same value and drive to bring holistic healing as well as education and guidance so that her patients can learn to lead healthier lives. Dr Meaghan Dishman is a true renaissance woman. She is constantly pushing herself to learn new skills and learn new intricacies of her craft, as well as keeping up to date on new developments and studies in her field. Aside from being a stand out in her medical practice, on a personal level she is never standing still and always moving forward to better herself and the lives around her. A certified teacher in both Gryotonics/Gyrokinesis and Yoga as well as a busy mother of twins! Her energy for life is not only inspiring, it is contagious! If you have the chance to work or consult with Dr Dishman, please consider yourself very fortunate. You can be confident that she will take you under her wing and help nurture you back to health. You will be in the very best of hands and for that we can all be grateful!!

He had IBS symptoms and deep vein pain in his legs when walking for any distance. His seasonal and pet allergies were out of control. At 36 years of age, he faced the choice of being put on a multitude of drugs from his primary care physician, or, as he described it, taking his body into his own hands and getting down to the business of truly becoming healthy. After one visit with Dr. Dishman his life was changed. She prescribed an anti-inflammatory diet and ordered blood tests. His blood work revealed sensitivities to a multitude of foods. He cut them out of his diet and began to feel better immediately. He lost over 20 pounds, his blood lipid panel came back fantastic, and he was no longer even allergic to cats! Needless to say, I had to see what Dr. Dishman could do for me. I didn't have as many health complaints, but what I have learned from her has also changed the way that I eat and care for by health. I feel better at 42 than I did in my 20s! Finally, my youngest daughter is also a patient of Dr. Dishman's; she is a 10 year old who suffered from high cholesterol and IBS symptoms. Thanks to Dr. Dishman, after 1 month of treatment, she feels absolutely wonderful! Our family is now so happy and healthy!
