I decided to go to do an acupuncture session with James to try another potential remedy for this weird onset.

After benefiting from community acupuncture's healing environment and affordability many years ago,…read moreI was excited to discover that Bend has a clinic offering a similar opportunity. Mark's attentive, empathetic listening and skill as a practitioner were especially comforting and beneficial. The peaceful and professional nature of the clinic feels unique and provided me with much-needed reprieve while I was experiencing both physical pain and emotional overwhelm. Mark's familiarity with other healing modalities I've been using lately was also very helpful, and I'm especially grateful that he graciously supplemented the acupuncture with Zero Balancing multiple times. I'm very much looking forward to receiving treatment at Bend Community Healing the next time I'm in town and highly recommend it to anyone seeking holistic, intentional, and compassionate care.

Review Bend Community Healing…read more As a retired Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki practitioner, I can say that Mark not only embodies the spirit of Healing, as evidenced by his generosity, kindness and caring, offering affordable treatments and therapies. I have been receiving acupuncture and other body work most of my life for chronic and acute conditions, and he is a skilled acupuncturist and Zero Balance practitioner, and he has helped me tremendously in the short time I've been seeing him. He holds a very loving and accepting space for his clients no matter how much they can or can't pay. My dream is that many more therapists of all kinds will follow his lead in making their services more accessible.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this acupuncture office. Before my appointment, I…read morespent quite a bit of time on the phone with the office manager going over insurance details and paperwork. I confirmed several times that my insurance covered the visit and that my copay would be $35. I was also reminded (repeatedly) about their $75 cancellation policy, which I agreed to. When I arrived for my first appointment, I was suddenly told my copay would actually be **$70** -- apparently one for an "office visit" and one for the treatment itself. This was never mentioned during any of our prior conversations, and it felt deceptive. The treatment itself was underwhelming, and I left with noticeable bruising. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would recommend double-checking all costs and details in writing before scheduling here.

I started visiting Central Oregon Acupuncture in a significant amount of pain. I pulled a muscle in…read moremy back and could hardly turn my head left and right, sleeping was painful and come morning my neck would tighten so much that I needed help sitting back up. I've seen chiropractors, PTs and massage therapists in the past but have long been intrigued by the benefits of acupuncture so decided to give it a try in this moment of pain. Within a few treatments I had mobility back, I could turn my head without pain, lift my child and sleep well. I will say that being new to acupuncture, I had no idea what to expect. To give a sense of what's to come: First, you'll fill out a rather long form to help ID areas where acupuncture could help. Then, you head to the room and meet with the acupuncturist who will have reviewed your form, check a few other things like your pulse and under your tongue, and then talk treatment. From there, on to the table (think massage table) where they place the needles and whatever else treatment calls for and you lay there (take a nap) for however long your provider recommends. They will be there to check on you from time to time. You should plan about 60-90 minutes for an appointment. Also, don't forget your mask. In my experience, it was well worth the time but that was a surprise. The results have been incredible and I plan to work acupuncture into my wellness routine.
