Mark's attentive, empathetic listening and skill as a practitioner were especially comforting and beneficial. The peaceful and professional nature of the clinic feels unique and provided me with much-needed reprieve while I was experiencing both physical pain and emotional overwhelm. Beautiful space, inspiring teachers, and many offerings (Vinyasa--levels 1-3, so plenty of classes appropriate for beginners, Yin, Anusara, and Ashtanga). Mats, towels, blocks, straps, blankets, tea... Whatever you need or forgot is available and free of charge. Showers available, Prices are the most reasonable of any studio in Bend. Most importantly, the teachers here are incredible. The experience and expertise (as well as patience, kindness, and inspiring nature) of each is unmatched. Try Rebecca's classes for a more traditional, intense practice that is sure to energize. Try Aleta's for an all-around amazing workout with a spiritual theme that will leave you feeling more centered. Try Cynthia for a slower-paced, longer hold kind of practice tailored to whatever it is you need that will rejuvenate and ground you. Finally, don't miss Ulla, Bend's only certified Anusara teacher, for a fun, playful practice that will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about alignment (her sound effects are the best!) read more

This studio is FANTASTIC! It is clean and very friendly. They have Vinyasa Yoga here which is great. The teachers really show you exactly how each pose should be done and help you do them properly. They have a $30 for 30 days unlimited for first timers. It is well worth it! They also offer a lot of classes throughout the day which is nice for people with always changing schedules. If you listen to only one thing I say, then choose to listen to this: Take Cynthia Latimer's class! She is the most wonderful yoga instructor I have ever had. In the beginning of her class she asks if there is a specific pose that people are working on. If you speak up then she spends the whole class showing how to get ready for that pose and different poses that help. She is great and not to mention super nice. I was told by a couple people that their vinyasa class was amazing. So, while in Bend on a family vacation I decided to give it a whirl. Ummm.... Nope. What was advertised was absolutely not what was given. Online it was a 1 hr 15 min vinyasa flow with Tricia. What we got was an hour and a half of kind of hatha but more super gentle yin type practice. We didn't do a single sun salutation. We didn't even do a downward dog until 45 min in. I won't be back. If you want vinyasa and you haven't been here before, I might try a different studio, or call and ask first... read more

I am someone who is very bad at sitting still; I am incapable of napping or meditating, and have struggled a lot with insomnia in my life. Yet, somehow, when I go to Bend Community Healing, I am able to relax during my acupuncture session and feel relaxation unlike anything I have felt before. I find acupuncture extremely helpful for a host of things, especially stress and anxiety management, which then translates into me getting a good night's sleep. I also totally credit Mark for helping me get pregnant, as I had a hard time conceiving before I started seeing him regularly. Mark is an extremely talented acupuncturist and due to the community acupuncture format (where you pay a sliding scale of $20-$50 and share the room with others being treated), I can afford to go regularly even though my insurance will not cover acupuncture. If you are curious about acupuncture or are just in the market for a new acupuncturist, I highly recommend Bend Community Healing.
