OUTSTANDING!!! I have a 2003 Jeep TJ with a 5-speed manual transmission. After hearing some…read morenoises, something broke and my drive train locked up. I figured I broke something in the transmission (judging from past experience with a different vehicle). Most transmission shops in the area refuse to touch a manual transmission. I went to see Mark at Cottman Transmission in New Castle. He showed no hesitation whatsoever. After we talked, he immediately dispatched a tow truck, at no charge, to pick up my vehicle (on a busy Friday) and had my Jeep in his shop within the hour. On Monday, he had determined that the problem was broken gears in the rear differential, and NOT in my transmission. This was good news! He gave me a very fair estimate, and I picked up my fully repaired Jeep on Wednesday after paying a few dollars UNDER the original estimate. In addition, he had checked out the rest of the drive train to ensure everything was in good shape. Overall, the service from Cottman Transmission in New Castle was excellent, and Mark was extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and very responsive. Honest, reliable, and eager to serve a first time customer, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and I highly recommend this shop. Lastly, I have a 1979 Jeep CJ-5 with a Chevy 350 in need of a new transmission, and I look forward to working with Mark to get it back on the road for the spring Jeep season!

I messaged a bunch of auto Repair shops for brake service. Needed to change the brake pads (front and rear) and wanted to rotor resurfacing. I was quoted $199. However, when I spoke to Eric on phone the prices he said were different from what he msged. So I decided to go to Meineke. But they were terrible and I walked off immediately. So came back to Eric. Fixed up an apt. He did service in less than an hour. Although he didn't resurfac the rotors, he said he cleaned them and the rotors are in good condition. No replacing needed. After a week of driving (200miles), I have no complaints. One point to note, this is a CASH ONLY place. I was not made aware if it. Also, the place does not have a good waiting area. The chairs are old n dusty. Not that it bothered me. But something to note. He did seem busy since he was the only one working. He actually turned down couple of jobs while I was waiting there. Might be a good idea to call and check. Overall, I am satisfied with the service provided. I was a lil upset abt rotor resurfacing not being performed and would have given 3 stars for that. But since this place does not have much reviews, I gave it 4 stars.
