Well, I think it's safe to write this review. *Knocks on wood*…read more I went several times to CarMax, looking to get a new car. Or rather a used car that is new to me because frankly speaking $30k+ on a car in this economy is ridiculous, but I'm rambling here. The first few times I went I mainly went with in with an appointment to see what they had available as I still didn't know what exactly I wanted. Once I settled on what I wanted, the app made it very easy to order a car to be delivered to the location and be seen. Well, I bought the first car. I had no issues until it left me stranded not once but twice. I wound up taking the car back to CarMax, and given their return policy, I returned the car no issue. The actual money being returned to me took longer than expected, but I got it and went my way to search for another car. I checked a few places, and after calming down given my experience, I gave CarMax a second shot and bought a second car. This car has been with me for close to two months now and I have had no issues. I likely just bought a dud the first time around, seeing as the make and model I later found out from reviews had a lot of issues. The staff here is very nice. Shout outs to Andre, Adam, Cece, and Chrissy in particular. They made my experience as good as it could be given the situation I had. I would recommend buying a car here, just don't be like me who clearly didn't do enough research when buying the first car.

They went up on the fees apparently that are added on during final purchase which isn't calculated until the final purchase. Issue is they have gone up so much on those fees that if you have a pre-approval from your bank or whoever, while using their website information for what the vehicle cost will leave you with a surprise extra 2k to 3k in fees. But, okay I'll roll with that. After the purchase, the car died on me overnight. Had to have it towed next day. They did a little more inspection this time...The vehicle was not inspection properly before being sold. They gave 4 new tires and an alignment on them. Okay I'll roll with that. A few weeks later, my console is telling me something is draining the battery so I called them again to see if they even did a basic inspection on yhe vehicle. They sent me to a local shop that works on bmws etc. Turns out they put a battery that was too small for the vehicle instead of getting the correct battery... Highly likely won't be buying through Carmax again.

They let my mother and I drive the car to my dad so he could check it out and then to my mechanic to have it fully checked once we ran the numbers and I decided I wanted it as long as it checked out by my mechanic. The car has a few minor cosmetic issues (small scratches in the paint) that are to be expected. The trunk latch cover had dry rotted (it's plastic and this is a common issue), Michael found us a replacement quickly and offered to have it painted as well for way cheaper than Toyota charges for just the piece. The car came with 4 brand new tires, unfortunately the previous owner had straddled a curb or something causing damage to the interior of the rim--which was causing the tire to bubble. (My mechanic found it after he lifted the car to check the bearings.) Michael and his father took off the price of a new rim and tire so we could replace them. They also gave me a very fair price for my trade. Michael, Ray, and I'm sure the others that work at Auto Showcase are amazing and honest people-- they made buying this car quick and easy...they even stayed late so we could get it all done. I highly recommend them to everyone, hands down the best car looking/buying experience I and my family has had.

I was nervous about not going to one of the 'big name' dealerships in the area but after this experience, I would definitely go back to Auto Showcase if I need another car.

Trey lured me over there, 100 miles away, to see a cute Elantra.... He said it was a great car in good condition. He sent me 3 videos, it looked good. I got my friend to drive me over there and when I see the car, it has a horrible paint job covered in oxidation and the inside smells extremely strongly of cigarette smoke and had a cigarette burn in the driver seat. I was flabbergasted because I had already given them a $500 deposit... My friend had something pressing and had to leave so there I am in Tallahassee with very limited funds truthfully they did offer to give me my deposit back, but it would have meant starting all over and renting a car and I'm not well and I was struggling and I just bought it. It's horrible looking and I'm embarrassed to drive it but I will until I can save up enough money to have it painted I would not trust this dealership and would not recommend it to any friends or family. It wasn't exactly bait and switch, but I think he could've told me that it really needed a paint job and that it did not smell good at all before I traveled 100 miles to see it. I paid too much for it , another stupid decision on my part. Oh well . Just beware, they do not care about your best interest.

While I waited for the shuttle to pick me up I was solicited by the sales department. I took the bait and test drove the new Telluride which I actually loved! I was nervous about getting behind the wheel of such a big vehicle but the rep, I believe his name was Daniel made me feel very comfortable. Fast forward to the end of the day I had to call the sales department to get an update on my vehicle right before closing time. He was pretty cavalier in his response and said he'd call back with an estimate first thing the next morning. I then waited until lunchtime only to be told by someone else, I think her name was Laura that it would take another day for the part to come in and be installed. My original service rep was also out that day. Laura did give me her direct line and when I expressed my dissatisfaction in the lack of communication said I could get 10% off the price for the inconvenience. In the end they had my car almost the entire week but the communication did improve and I finally got my car back in one piece.

I was transferred to Ms. Langley, the Genesis service rep,and voice mail answered for a couple of days. She didn't return calls to my messages and I called and talked to another employee. I said I didn't think getting an appointment would be hard and he made arrangements to have my car picked up and serviced. About a month ago, we thought we had a problem with the trunk not opening but it turned out to be the valet button. I was clueless about a valet button. I tried contacting the Genesis service rep, leaving three phone messages over a period of a week. Again, I talked to Josh (I think that was his name) who set up a day for me to bring it in. In the interim, I researched online and finally resolved the issue myself. A phone call from the service rep would probably have solved it easily. I emailed Josh, the one who set up the appointment and canceled. He sent a confirmation back.Josh was not the Genesis rep though, and I got a couple of days later, on the day of the cancelled appointment, I got a call from Ms. Langley, the Genesis scheduler/service rep about making the appointment. I told Ms. Langley that I had cancelled the appointment and that three phone messages to her within the week had not been returned. She said her family had some health issues but as I explained to her, someone should have taken her messages and responded. I get family emergency, but the dealership should have someone covering the employees responsibilies. This week, I have been trying to schedule the 6 month service and I called twice on Tuesday leaving messages. No reponse. Wednesday afternoon I found they had called my phone when I was outside with pups, but didn't leave a message. When I found the call had been made, I called back, within an hour, and again left a message for Ms. Langley. No response. It is Thursday and still haven't had a return call. Getting a routine service shouldn't be this difficult. Getting a return call from the Genesis service rep shouldn't be so difficult. I arrive early for my appointment and found that I was 8th in line for service and it would be a 3 hour wait. After receiving the usual and expected response from her saying she was sorry and that Werner tried to exceed expectations she understood that I had not had my expectations met. She then moved up my vehicle from number 8 to 1. I doubt if I will buy another vehicle or recommend Werner to anyone
