I had benchmark put a stereo in my jeep almost a year ago. Then last month I contacted them because the sound had quit. They were beyond helpful- took the stereo out and returned it on warranty. I only had to pay shipping! Then when the stereo arrived Benchmark called and had my Jeep in 2 days later. I waited at the shop and was back in my way in less then half an hour. Went in for a remote start install for my car, was quoted $365 initially. Turns out there was already a remote start installed in my car (bought the car 2nd owner from the dealer, dealer never mentioned it). They were honest about it, and I only ended up having to buy the new remote, which was about $150. They didn't have to tell me, and I would have never known otherwise, so 5 stars for honesty and integrity. Definitely will be going back when I decide to get my new system installed. I've had Benchmark Audio do two major upgrades for my Jeep Wrangler: Replace the sound system and replace headlights/fog lights/turn signals with LEDs. The sound system upgrade went off without a hitch, but the light replacement was a long, drawn-out miserable experience. Firstly, they will only touch LED lights from 3 companies, all of which sell practically identical lights to other companies just at a higher premium because they "know how their product works". The first two installation sessions were cancelled due to a scheduling error on the part of a new customer service rep (Austin). The third one was cancelled because of turn signal plugs not locking in place (stock turn signals worked fine before they got in there). Made me go to Jeep dealer to fix them before they would touch it. The fourth install session was when they finally finished, but the RGB halos are not always available in the Bluetooth app. Electrician says this is an iPhone BT issue, but I've used other BT devices (Android included) to no avail. After looking under the hood, I found that the BT controller had a grounding issue and was just sitting loose under the hood shaking around. The electrician claims to have 30 years of experience with automotive electronics and seems to know what he is talking about for the most part, but shows no pride in his work, as evident by poor cable and device management under the hood (I'm an electrical engineer and trying to investigate his cable management after the work was done was terrifying). To summarize, I would only suggest having Benchmark do installations of sound system upgrades or remote start functionality, as I have family and friends with good experiences for both of these. Unless you want to be jerked around, do NOT work with their new rep Austin. Work with the manager and/or the electrician for any work here. If you're doing lighting for your vehicle, find a family friend or somewhere else to help. As a final note, they also ended up charging me an additional $100 in labor from what they quoted. As an engineer who quotes work all time, if you want to keep customers, NEVER quote less than what you need to do the job. Take the time to look at the vehicle and see how much work it will really take BEFORE giving the quote. They clearly do not value the customer's time or money. read more

Don't do it. Had my windows tinted based off the recommendation of a friend. Wish I hadn't. First of I left vehicle with clear instruction about the darkness of the tint I wanted. Upon picking the vehicle up the guy tells me they put a lighter tint on. I asked if it was common to change a customers order without consulting the customer. Even a phone call would have been nice. He said they just thought it didn't look right. They thought the tint would be darker than my liking. Ok whatever moving on. I get my vehicle and immediately notice the vinyl on the doors had been torn/ cut about an inch or so in the same spot on both doors driver and passenger. Upset I asked the installer. He instantly deflected and lied to me saying they were already there. The vehicle is a brand new 2013 there is no way. And wouldn't that be a job stopper or a call to the customer? I end up coming back to speak to the manager Tim about the issue. I provided him with a bunch of photos and even sent him some before pix that clearly illustrated that the tears were not there before. I also brought the vehicle to him to inspect. Total denial that his guys plastic tools could have done it. However he offered to have a guy he knows that fixes vinyl for the dealerships fix the 2 rips. He said it would only cost like 20 bucks and he would eat it. Oh thanks for the huge favor guy. I gave him the opportunity to try to fix it by having his guy patch it up. What else was I to do. He wasn't budging on replacing the torn panels. The patch jobs were just that. Mediocre at best. Very obvious and I notice them every time I get in my new truck. I think "they screwed me" every time I see them. To make matters worse the tint job wasn't all the great either. Tint looks fine on the windows but the trim along the top edge of the window is cut sloppy and uneven. He offered at the beginning to take the tint off and install the darker like I originally ordered but I wanted to see how he handled the bigger issue of the torn door panels. No way, probably would have made matters worse. Just not what I expected. The manager never followed up with me after the doors were patched. I'm thinking he was probably just hoping the issue would go away. Truly Unsatisfied. Would have rated experience zero stars but not an option. read more

Ok so a few weeks ago my family bought me a remote car starter, from Benchmark Audio. It starts my car but blows COLD air, which defeats the purpose. I went back to Benchmark and he says Ford has to enable the temperature control feature to allow the car to use the heater and defrost. I went to Ford in Bath, back to my dealer Simmons-Rockwell, some guy at Nissan (per benchmark guy), and nobody knew what the guy from benchmark was talking about. I am so frustrated, so I went to return the starter and Benchmark guy says "the car starts, not our problem" and wont uninstall the starter. Ford in Bath says they would look at it (no guarantee) but charge me $200 to do so :( Does anyone have a friend who knows Ford products that might have a tool to enable temperature control for the car starter?? I really want to report Benchmark to the Better Business Bureau because it's not my fault the starter doesnt acknowledge that I have a heater, and blow cold air when started. I spent $5000 on a system- I returned for a simple issue months later- upon my arrival to the front desk I let the employee know I had left my car out back, he then chastised me for doing so, saying I should have pulled out front first, then when I gave him my name & he identified my name with my vehicle expressed "Oh ! You have the Porsche!" ('Porsch-A' like only pontificating peeps would say) "that's okay you pulled out back, I thought you had, like, a kia. Shuhhh." As if my business wasn't good if I drove a kia? I slightly puked in my mouth, then decided I wouldn't let this kid know how disgusted I was with his comment in a room full of his potential customers (whom I'm sure were also all offended, making me seem offensive also for letting this kind of economic public disparagement slide) Sorry guys, I promise I spoke my peace later. I show up the following day to pick my car up & the technician came out the door SCREAMING, no exaggeration, posturing aggressively, pointing his finger (resembling the instigation of a bar fight- like literally thought this dude may try to fist fight me) barking that the blown speaker is my fault for changing the stereo settings & shouldn't be covered by the warranty... when I bark back & let him know I'm not the dog to bark at, he offers to TEACH me how to use the stereo settings- when I inquire how much to fix without the warranty... he claims $100. (I would've paid you double to spare your mouth) I wouldn't have spent another dime with you in this lifetime for your prior dropping of the N bomb & the 'I'm scared of the world' kid's kia comment- but given the chance to address it privately with you both- maybe I would've given you a third shot... instead zz top wanted to come out guns blazin' & talk to me like he probably always has to women- get this- over $100- or in truth, over my being a female- take your pick. I guess I should've sent my husband. Ha! I never write bad reviews, I personally address my concerns, however for you I'm making an exception, 3 strikes you're out. Most civilized folks would have filed criminal charges, lucky for you, as much as you wanted to physically intimidate me, you see that didn't work out so much for you. Don't even bother with going to the competition!!! Wasted two weeks working with Best Buy and they still couldn't manage to sell and install for me, a good double din deck for my wife's car. Benchmark actually ordered the dash kit after I got off the phone with them (without having to pay for it in advance) and "fit me in" (due to my heavy work schedule) the Saturday following the phone call. These guys are professional, know their products and their mobile installation is clean and top notch. And as for their prices - no different on equipment than the chain stores and the install is actually cheaper. Will never go anywhere else for mobile install again. Nice waiting room with TV and the install only took 40 minutes. Thank You Benchmark!!! You guys were a big help read more
