Absolutely terrible experience on Monday night. The white employee scraped the melted remains off the sides of the ice cream container and into my waffle cone. It was literally just melted slop. When I mentioned it, he said, "that's just how it is," as if I didn't watch him scoop the melted sides and give it to me. This last time we ordered a banana split , the scoops were small tiny scoops for almost $12 , you would expect decent scoops. I really wanted to give this place more stars, like it better, etc. But, the ice cream isn't any better than it is from the freezer section of the grocery store. But Ben & Jerry's is really good so, the ice cream was delicious. Also, finding vegan dessert in Memphis was much harder than I had anticipated, so enjoying a sweet treat here was greatly appreciated. While they have a rather large and nice outside seating area, it is kind of noisy as there is a ton of traffic moving by. The location is also super annoying. It is very near a movie theater and an area of town saturated with big box stores. So there are tons of Beckys & Karens milling about, sampling all the flavours, and having existential crises over sizes, flavours, etc., which causes the line to move slowly in real time and even slower in perceived time. So, sans many vegan dessert options, if I lived in Memphis I'd be here on occasion but not too often. Look, I love ice cream. It is one of the few things that essentially get me through the week. And Ben & Jerry's has pretty solid flavors and quality, no doubt. Nonetheless, nothing could compel me to pay $5 for two measly scoops of "gourmet" (yet still chain) ice cream. Yes, it's $5 for a small cup/cone of ice cream. Absurd. Sweets......my weakness!!! I've always loved Ben & Jerry's ice cream. The flavors are endless, which I always have a hard time picking what I want. My go to flavor is strawberry cheesecake....MY FAVORITE! They even have some what of healthier choices such as frozen yogurt and sorbet. The banana peanut frozen yogurt is pretty good. A bit pricey for one small scoop....about $3 and some change. The decor is really cool. I like the big checkerboards that are on some of the tables. Dropped by after having a less than impressive lunch at Houston's. They immediately greeted my husband and I as we walked in and the place seems very cozy. I generally shy away from reviewing major chains unless the service was horrendous or stellar. In this case, the service was out of this world fantastic!! My mom and I went over after having checked out the recently re-opened Whole Foods across the parking lot. When we went in, the only staff member there was leading the 3-4 patrons in happy birthday to a customer sitting alone at a table, giving her free ice cream and treats, and giving all of us patrons free cookies. What I enjoyed most was that the man who was working was so cheerful and friendly. Too often these days, I run into staff in any business who are clearly burned out on working in general. But an ice cream shoppe needs a cheerful person, right?! And he nailed it. He was absolutely one of the most friendly people I've met in Memphis in a long time and he clearly enjoyed his job and making others just as happy as he. My husband and I stopped by after swimming to relax after a long day of corporate meetings. The staff were both prompt and friendly. My husband immediately ordered strawberry cheesecake, but I on the other hand could not make up my mind. The gentleman who was serving us exceedingly helpful in assisting me make my choice. All while smiling one of those huge genuine smiles. After we had our ice cream, we headed to the darling patio area. I noticed a hook with several hula hoops. Off I went to claim my circle of fun for the next few minutes. A kind man sat to visit with us and gave tons of greasy suggestions on restaurants to try while we were in town. He also took time to ask us where were from, how long we would be in town and to inquire about our crazy Alaskan life back home. In review- the ice cream is delicious, staff friendly, store & its restrooms exceedingly clean. Fresh brownie, with ice cream of your choice (I like the fudge brownie ice cream with mine. It sounds redundant; it tastes delicious.), real whipped cream and whatever else you want on it. The staff at this location is usually very friendly and attentive, and the store itself is pretty and has plenty of space to hang out with friends or family. There used to piano and a guitar available for visitors to play for they had to remove the first one due to unruly costumers, which is unfortunate. One great thing I love about this store is that while most ice cream shops close at 9 pm, this one closes at 9:30 pm, which can -and has- make a difference when you get an urgent sweet tooth at night. read more

They do have a good seating arrangement with games like Checkers at almost all the tables.
