They charge a security deposit and are worried about smoking in the room yet guests and employees smoke pot outside the automatic doors so when they open that pungent odor gets sucked in and the whole place smells like pot! This was not a bad place to stay. The room was clean, although our bed sheets were stained and that gives you kinda a creepy feeling. It was a little loud on the second floor but not too irritating. The beds were comfortable but they only provided us with two pillows. I like more. We arrived late so didn't bother asking for more. The continental breakfast was fine serving a few muffins, cereal, waffles and assorted juices and coffee. It was all very neat and fresh. When checking out we could not find anyone at the front desk even after ringing the bell so we left the key on the desk. I would say an average experience. read more

It's VERY dated, dark hallway on the 2nd floor, the room had a bathroom fan that doesn't shut off, the fire alarm was taped on the wall, the fridge had a missing piece that was never repaired, the smoke detector in the hall was disconnected, the elevator was broke for a day and Sunday night the staff was burning an awful incense! I have traveled more in the past year for college tours than I had in over a decade. Initially, I stayed exclusively at properties that are part of a large chain where I received Honors points. However, after a few unsatisfactory and one absolutely horrible experience, I started using Hotels.com to find properties instead. The Belvedere Inn is a small, older hotel that offered everything I hope for on our visits. It was clean and extremely quiet. The decor was "hotel pleasant," and the in-room amenities offered everything I expect but don't always find in the various chain properties, including a fridge and microwave. The grab-and-go continental breakfast offers the typical items plus the surprising bonus of pastries from Villa Italia, the local Italian bakery that was highly recommended to us on our first trip to the area. This isn't a luxury place and doesn't look overly impressive but if what you're looking for is a clean, comfortable, friendly place to stay in the Schenectady area, I highly recommend the Belvedere Inn. We may not be back to the area since my child committed to a different school, but if we do come back, I will definitely stay there again. read more

For the price this is one of the least desirable hotels I have stayed at in its category. If you come with kids they give you the saddest room on the first floor next to the road, which lacks a curtain, so you have next to no privacy. There is almost no service, the breakfast is meager, there are only two towels for 2 adults and 2 children, the rooms are cramped relative to its peers, you have to call your own cab, they are still using an old-school TV with no cable, and the rooms are rather dark and depressing. I am used to hotel card keys being inactivated if they are held next to a cell phone, however here the card key cannot even be kept next to a credit card, and hence, you cannot keep them in your wallet. Very convenient! You need to reserve a pocket just for the hotel key. Thank you Belvedere Inn! The best thing I can say about this place is that it's in close proximity to a sports bar, as the hotel does not serve food. But truthfully that's not really a compliment. The sole person at the desk (Hialeah?) is very friendly and accommodating I must say. Kudos to the sole person at the desk - we salute you! You are the highlight of the Belvedere Inn. Stayed here in August 2021 for a few nights when another hotel had screwed up my reservation. Although the staff was friendly, the room itself had some issues. This place was fairly old, sheets had some random stains, and I spotted a few dead bugs. The carpet was a little soggy too. As for the bed, it was pretty dated as well, and hard to sleep on. I paid exactly 128.00 to stay here one evening on an overnight road trip I took with two friends. I had read countless reviews and I have to say I was a bit apprehensive to stay cause people's reviews described the place as being everything from old fashion to subpar. Well, I'll just tell you that I am extremely particular about where I stay when I travel and I can honestly say that for 128.00 I got a fantastic room and excellent front desk service. The desk attendant was very polite and welcoming and even upgraded our room to the deluxe where a microwave and refrigerator was included at no extra charge. After Covid when traveling, we try to support the local business as we know it is the small guys get hurt. In this case, that was a mistake. We booked this place from the reviews on hotel.com. The stay was uneventful except the drain in the bathroom sink was slow. The artwork on the wall seems like from a Groupon drink and paint event. 2 days later, my credit card showed a $12 charge from the hotel. I called them and was informed that some towel in the room was missing.... Trust me, the towels in the room is not something you'd want to take. It is a few grade better than the sand paper. Plus, how do you defend that? I left the city 2 days ago. Nobody did a walk through when leaving the hotel. I know business is tough, but this is the wrong way to bring in the cash. Especially after I made the call to the hotel, they are unwilling to remove the charge. I have the $12. Hopefully this is worth their reputation! read more

Stumble across this place on a trip from Boston back to the midwest , other reviews are spot on ,. nice staff , our room was updated nice furniture and granite counter tops ,clean , bed was comfortable with several pillows to choose from. Breakfast had a nice variety of fresh muffins and donuts. For the price of the hotel this place can't be beat , now for the neg points , do not get a room by the elevator it has a bell that dings really loud that can be heard from 10 rooms down. If the hotel staff is reading this , hire someone to turn this bell off or disconnect it . Doors provide no sound barrier and everything can be heard , I'm a very lite sleeper so take that into account , we would definitely stay here again , for the price its well worth it. Plenty of parking for a big truck and parking has good lighting . Nightmare at a the Belvedere Inn My family stayed at Mallozzi's Belvedere Inn in later September to attend a memorial service for a family member. My retired parents stayed in one room while my 1 year old a I were in another. At 4AM on the first night the fire alarm went off. We were outside for an hour, but assured that the problem was resolved. Then the next night the fire alarm went off again, not once but three times! At 4:37AM, 5:36AM and 8:06AM. Each time my 1year old daughter was traumatized. I spoke the to fireman after the 3rd alarm. He assured me that there was a faulty alarm system that it was ownership's responsibility to repair. Ownership and management were not onsite. A young desk clerk was left to fend for herself with all the angry guests. When I asked where management/ownership was I was told that they weren't coming because there was nothing they could do. There was additional evidence of negligent ownership/management. Both my parents and I had the change rooms during our stay. My parents because their heat wasn't working and me because there was no clean sheets or towels in my room. They also ran out of waffle batter at breakfast and handled it by putting an "out of order" sign on the waffle maker (which was not broken). read more
