If the parking at Belmar Beach wasn't such a pain in the butt, I would go here more often! This is a Jersey Shore gem. It's $12 per person for beach access and you can either pay online via a QR code or cash. Children 13 and under and veterans have free access. The beach and boardwalk are super clean and not overly crowded. No rowdy, drunk teenagers or young adults. I went this past Saturday and I had a quiet, peaceful experience. You can bring food and drinks. There are restrooms, but no showers. There are so many food choices nearby! You can either stop by one of the boardwalk eateries or you can explore restaurants on Belmar's Main Street! If you're from Jersey, you know that the water can look..... questionable lol. The water was surprisingly clear and also very warm! When the sun hit at the right angle, it looked seafoam green instead of the usual dark, murky color. They have separate sections for surfers and swimmers. BUT THE PARKING??? UGHHHHHHH. WHAT A HEADACHE. Good luck with finding anything near the boardwalk. You're most likely going to have to park on the neighborhood streets and walk a few blocks over. It's super tight so I hope your parallel parking skills are sharp.

Ohh my Belmar beach wherefore art thou been? Glad the summer time fun is here to enjoy this beach. Clean, fun, inviting, and NO roudiness!!! I highly suggest you pick a marker where there are restrooms and food not too far away... makes your trip smoother and enjoyable. Finding a parking spot should be the only tough thing about this trip. The other tough decision is whether you wanna butter yourself up or use SPF 5000... I'm a buttery kinda guy, gotta look good and taste good. Know what I mean! LoL

Belmar is a popular destination on the Jersey Shore During the peak summer season, Belmar beach tags are required for everyone age 14 and older. Admission to Belmar beach is free for children aged 13 and younger. Beach tags are not required prior to Memorial Day weekend or after Labor Day. beachfront is equipped with pirate-themed beach playgrounds, places to fill your water bottle and charge your cell phone, and touch-free shower stations at each beach entrance for rinsing off. Belmar also has ADA-accessible beaches equipped with blue mobility mats. These hard-surface beach-access ramps are designed for people who use wheelchairs or walking aids, and families coming to the beach with strollers, wagons, and beach carts. and of course, Public bathrooms are there too. Parking: Free: You may park for free on any of the neighborhood side streets in Belmar (except those in ParkMobile zones), or at the NJ Transit train station in downtown Belmar. Paid Parking: Near to boardwalk- You have to pay thru either app (name: Parkmobile) or by scanning the code. *** Belmar Boardwalk, NJ *** The 1.3-mile Belmar Boardwalk is more of a party atmosphere, while the section through Ocean Grove is lined with benches, street lamps, and potted flowers The boardwalk and beach area is located on Ocean Avenue and runs from First to Twentieth Avenues, offers many interesting attractions, shops, and eateries along the boardwalk, as well as fun along the extensive stretch of beach. The Boardwalk has beautiful sunset, and it would be great to witness that. The beach and atmosphere work as additives to the situation. It is a perfect place for a long romantic walk Smoking is prohibited on the entire beach and boardwalk at all times. dogs/bike/skating is also not allowed.

I had a decent time at the beach. There were things that I enjoyed, but also some things that I didn't enjoy. This beach was packed on a Thursday afternoon. My friend and I arrived and realized we had to pay. My friend first heard that the beach was free. I don't know if it used to be free and now wasn't. There was parking in front that you also had to pay for. There is also regular free parking on the street in front of houses but they were all taken. The beach was full with nice families and the weather was great and the water was nice and cool and cooled me off for the day. Those are things that I enjoyed. The things that I didn't like nor agreed with was, there were underaged teens there drinking and the beach police arrived and basically took over the fun of being on the beach. Instead of getting tickets or anything these kids got away Scott free but it ruined my day as well as my friend's. I don't think I'll be back. I didn't like paying for something that should've been free and not enjoying it. Smh.

Beautiful, well maintained beach away from the craziness of Seaside Heights. Plenty of shops, stores and restaurants to get anything you might need without there being an overwhelming amount of people. Beach fees are reasonable considering the size and scope of real estate available along with the changing areas and restrooms. Parking can be a challenge during the summer, but it wouldn't be the Jersey Shore if it wasn't. If you just want to go to the beach to enjoy the beach and not amusement parks, tons of bars, arcades, aquariums, etc., without sacrificing the basic amenities, then this is the spot for you.

One of the first couple days beaches opened back up in NJ due to covid19. It was nice weather finally, there were a lot of people looking to get out and enjoy the sand and ocean, even though it was windy a bit. Overall, the beach was very clean and well patrolled.

The Belmar Beach is clean, well maintained with good public restrooms, friendly attendants, and a great boardwalk for strolling and admiring the nice Victorian homes. Along Ocean Avenue there are a few restaurants, casual eateries, Dunkin' Donuts, 7-11 and the ever popular Playa Bowls. If you're looking for additional food offerings, drive over to Main Street. It is also a popular surfing beach near the 5th Avenue and 18th Avenue beaches. PRICING: The price for a season pass is a great deal for someone that plans on visiting the beach often. The following prices are for the 2017 beach season: $8 day pass $55 season pass $15 season pass seniors $15 season pass disabled PARKING: Parking on all side streets as well as on the street/sidewalk side of Ocean Avenue is free. Parking on the boardwalk side of Ocean Avenue is $2 per hour payable by credit card at designated machines.

    Nice Composite Boardwalk!

Growing up in New Jersey, the Belmar Beach has been my favorite. IMO, it has the best long boardwalks among Jersey beaches. It's not a meet-market like Seaside Heights. It's not too too commercialized with the likes of amusement rides or boardwalk vendors. To me, it's very sanguine, middle of the road clean beach. After Hurricane Sandy, and even the recent abuse from Hurricane Hermine just a week ago, Belmar Beach is still standing strong and continues to be rebuilt. I took my parents there for a morning walk this morning, and I still love it! One tip: No bikes on the boardwalk after 9 am.

Come early for some free parking in town but there's also metered parking along the beach. It does get full since there's not much sand between water and boardwalk. Price is $8 for general admission during lifeguard hours and free after 5pm. The beach itself is overall clean but rough (had better sand in RI and Wildwood NJ). Boardwalk is long and you can walk or run along it. There's not an amusement park like Point Pleasant but this is less of a family beach than a local and younger 20s beach. There are still families around. Overall, Belmar is home and I'll always come back now and then.

Beautiful and clean. There is a fee to get on the beach. But it is worth it. I went on a Friday morning, and no one was there, only a family of 3 with their little toddler. Very peaceful there. Clean.

If we come before 9:00 am and stay on the beach , or we come after 6:00 pm , then we don't have to pay for badge ? Is that true?

I assume that to be true as it's off hours. Online it only states the time you do need to pay. + 15 yo and under are free anyway. ++ There are a lot of military and veterans free admissions that in some cases extend to family members.

How much the cost to go onto the beach?

$8 for adults -kids pay after 16yrs old-season badge $55

Can't complain about that! There's plenty of street parking right in front of the boardwalk as well as residential parking nearby. Since I visited after the summer season ended, I had no problem finding a spot at 12pm. If you're going during the season, I would suggest coming much earlier if you want to get a good spot closer to the beach. During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), beach badges are required from 9am-5pm on weekdays and 9am-5:30pm on weekends/holidays. It's $13 per person. Children ages 11 and under + active military and their dependents are free of charge. They don't accept credit/debit cards, so remember to bring CASH. The beach is beautiful - clear, blue water and clean, soft sand. The crowd is more mature and family-oriented. They do have a lot of rules (no alcohol/smoking/cannabis/canopies/tents/sound systems), but I don't mind. It's not rowdy here, so you'll have a peaceful experience. There are bathrooms, a playground area for children, and a boardwalk. The boardwalk is small, but charming. There are benches for you to sit, relax, and enjoy the ocean view. There aren't many restaurants, bars, games, or entertainment around. They have a snack/food pavilion, but I'd suggest driving a few miles away to Asbury Park or Long Branch for a better dining and night life scene. Seeeeee yaaaaaaaa at the shore!

We already figured out that OG was an older, Christian-centric community but weren't sure about Bradley; didn't care really either way, but figured as a result of the proximity to a more religious town that we weren't exactly about to wander into a hardcore party scene. That was definitely true, but it wasn't oppressive - just chill and stunningly low key for 4th of July Weekend. We wandered onto the beach mid-morning on Saturday (so not the official busiest day of the holidays, but clearly still a big one) and ended up uncharacteristically sticking around until 4ish. From the Ocean Grove border, we decided to come in at the second entrance, thinking it was a little less secluded and didn't involve the surf school. One of the few annoyances of the day was the lifeguard/surf school situation - while the school was in session, you couldn't swim near that area (which is fine/understandable). That boundary was marked by a flag, but people were constantly floating toward it throughout the day and getting whistled at, to the point where we would have just put up buoys or something - it's easy to accidentally drift like that. This has to be one of the top three worst times to go to the beach in terms of crowds, etc. but we were both amazed that the entire time we were there, we easily had at least 10 feet of space between us and the next group of people. Given how early we got there, not surprising to have some acreage, but when it was 2pm and we still did? Wild. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality also made a cameo appearance around midday and was pleasantly surprised at the lack of population density as well. There are some rules here, which I imagine helps weed out the riffraff a bit. Full disclosure - I'm bad to the bone, so we did smuggle in some 5% tequila-based canned cocktails, and my other chum brought some "juice" in a Minute Maid container or something. I know. We behaved. And I don't know if it matters to the readers who are raking me over the coals right now, but the juice had very high level, Don Julio quality tequila. Anyway. There was a lifeguard patrolling in an ATV but I never saw anyone really looking into prohibited drinking (we were fairly discrete) but I'm sure that's something you should be looking out for no matter what. A few groups were clearly doing the same thing but honestly, anyone who's taking a nip at a beach like this is not doing it as a precursor to a raging kegger. One rule nitpick - we checked beforehand and the rules online clearly stated no cabanas and yet we saw a bunch of them. This was only annoying because my chum has a great one we didn't bring with us, which would have been an enormous asset. So I guess the lesson is, check the rules ahead of time but if you have the room, bring the cabana just in case everyone else is being naughty too. I didn't really think about it in the moment, but it was also very clean (the gold standard for me is Spring Lake, but it comes at the cost of some super off-the-charts rules that diminish the experience a tad). Each entrance had a person checking badges, and everyone I interacted with was very friendly. I forgot to bring my badge for a quick water trip and the woman at our entrance let me go since I had a memorable shirt (featuring Academy Award-nominated actress Winona Ryder) and was going to be back in a few minutes. Nice of her regardless. One of our favorite beaches to date. I think for me personally, I would just need one or two food stands nearby (they do have a QR code thing on the boardwalk to order some shizzle for delivery) and the surf school buoys. Really top-notch stuff.
