58 degrees and no one on the beaches

Nice place to go for a little stroll. Boardwalk is nice little walk whether for exercise or just to kill time. Can not say this would be my favorite boardwalk since there is not much on it. But it is nice to hang out at time to time.

Amazing beautiful beach. Haven't been here in a long time and I'm on a vaca so decided to make a trip. Still as beautiful as it was before. If you park by beach you do have to pay. Machine does take card. But if you park off street you good. They do charge to get on the beach but I was here at 630am today. So if they come around to check just go into the water lol. All and all beautiful place area and quiet. The beach is my serenity

BRADLEY BEACH: today and the upcoming week will have great weather for going to the beach. Bradley Beach's beaches are dog friendly! Look at these beautiful photos we took the other day! We had Brie on a leash, but you can go off-leash and there are mutt mitts available at some of the entrances. The boardwalk is not dog friendly, but you can cross over onto the sand. As of October 2020: "Dogs other Animals (permitted on the eastside sidewalk of Ocean Avenue). Dogs are not permitted on the beach from May 16th through September 30th. REMINDER: It is the owners responsibility to clean up after their dog on the beach and public streets."

Amazing beach! However if you are trying to get away from noise be aware if you can the police have a gas powered all terrain vehicle driving up and down Ocean Ave day and night. Easily could get electric

One of the best beaches in NJ. Bradley is a quiet and family friendly beach with a nice boardwalk and a few amenities on the boardwalk. It is between 2 small ponds and is near asbury and some really nice areas. It can get crowded in the midst of summer but is overall a smaller community. Food truck at Newark beach is pricy but decent, thought I do miss the previous trucks and food venders that had popped up in the past. Overall highly recommend this for a relaxing vacation or work setting.

This is my favorite Jersey Beach! There is plenty of parking. Paid parking is in abundance but there is also free street parking on each of the streets along Ocean Avenue. The distance from the board walk to waters edge is not far so it's easy to carry any items. The water is clear enough to see your feet! (That's saying something for the Jersey shore ) The bathrooms are cleaned regularly. I normally go weekdays, but even on the occasional weekend, the beach is never overly crowded. This is likely because there is not an abundance of restaurants or shops along the boardwalk. Downtown Bradley Beach (less than 10 minutes away) has great food and dessert options. And Asbury is 15 minutes away. I usually stay on the north end near the Kent Ave entrance. There is mini golf and usually one food truck. If you're looking for a relaxing time, this is the beach to go to.

I stayed in the area for a week and really enjoyed coming to this beach. It's really nice and clean! Beach passes cost $12 all week long. There's two food trucks available on the boardwalk. There's also a bathroom on the boardwalk.

Free parking, nice boardwalk (no shops) but the lifeguard building has bathrooms (the sinks have hot water!). The beach is well kept, people social distanced...nothing to complain about!

Bradley Beach, you and the stench on the turnpike are the reasons nobody likes New Jersey. Perhaps Chris Christie should be included as well. You know how you can get an open container ticket if you're drinking, but if something is sealed it's fine because you're in your mid-thirties and you're allowed to have alcohol because this is America? Not here. You know how most cops patrol for people actually causing problems or committing crimes, instead driving their police vehicles onto the beach (killing a poor, defenseless little seagull in the process - seriously that happened) to stalk and harass quiet beachgoers? Not here. You know how any reasonable cop would see a group of EIGHT adults in their thirties on the beach with ONE single-shot (50ml), SEALED bottle of Fireball "Whiskey", and just warn them not to bring anything (even a tiny little novelty bottle) on the beach again instead of writing them a $300 TICKET? Not here. You know how most cops are secure enough in their manhood and their holstered firearm that they don't need to tell an out of shape guy in a bathing suit (that'd be me) to back up because he's making them nervous? Not here. Do you know where I'm going to go to spend my tourism dollars? Do you know what beach I'll recommend to friends, family, and more? Do you know what place I'm excited to go because it isn't the most inhospitable place I can remember? Not here. Look, I get it if you're trying to raise a little cash for the town's expenses, and I absolutely understand why you don't want a bunch of kids getting wasted and making a mess and ruining anyone else's experience on your beach. But we were a quiet group of adults that were NOT EVEN DRINKING. We were sitting and staring at the waves, and the eight of us had one SEALED shot of Fireball Whiskey (which is so weak that I was weaned on it). And you didn't give us some $25 ticket that would've been reasonable. You charged us $300. Good day sir.

Awesome beach! $8/pp admission is well worth it for this quaint and pleasant beach. It is right next to Ocean Grove so it's essentially the same beach. Bring a packed lunch and some beach toys for the day. We finally got around to purchasing a beach tent and inflatable couches, which made the experience a lot more pleasant. Great crowd here, not too busy, a lot of cute umbrellas, the water is divine this time of year. Cannot wait to go back! The trip from NYC is totally worth it (1.5 hours) because it's about the same as to go to LI beaches which tend to be a lot more crowded.

It's taken me all summer to write my review b/c I wanted to be very fair considering I spent every summer here from my birth until adulthood. I have so many fond memories of Bradley Beach and all the people I met over the years especially my longest and oldest friend who I continue to see.I have watched Bradley completely change some good, some bad, and some do to Hurricane Sandy. The two arcades which were located on the two far ends of the boardwalk , one near Newark Ave the other down towards 5th Ave which originally housed unique pinball machines, ski ball, claw games which had the hand that came down and u would grab a prize if you were lucky, are just a few to mention. The buildings are long gone. There used to be two giant band stand pavilions which over looked the beaches and both of those are gone as well. Now, Bradley Beach built a very small open style gazebo located on the side of the boardwalk, and not directly on the beach for shade. This was done after the repair to the boardwalk. The original pavilion used to have local weekly concerts, and events, or people could just sit and watch the waves roll in. There are new benches located on some parts of the boardwalk with plaques on them that have been dedicated in honor of people or family members who passed. A good number of the homes have been totally remodeled and they look beautiful including my old house which dates back to 1926. Bradley Beach is a town rich in its people and history, just take a stroll on the boardwalk and your bound to run into an old timer who still lives here and can fill you in, and tell you great stories. This place does get a lot of summer repeat rentals. Many families will rent year, after year, sometimes even the same house. The beaches are better then ever! After Hurricane Sandy, sand was bought in to refurbish the beaches, and in my opinion they look amazing! The public bathrooms have always been somewhat of an issue in Bradley. Some need refurbishing, and they could use a few more stalls. The community pool which once was the home to the local swim team, and used by the lifeguards to warmup in the morning before heading to the beach is also gone. My friend Dickie Johnson would round ip the boys.It was directly in the center of town between the golf course and the pavilion on the boardwalk.I love that there is a small miniature golf course right up by the beach on McCabe Ave.The original, stood the test of time through many storms and a hurricane back in the early 70's. It too has been completely redone. It was always thrilling when someone got a hole in one a bell would go off! Across the street and over on the corner of Ocean ave and Ocean Park Ave is a very large grey house (that is now condos and rentals) it was originally the ( Schafer House) it has a restaurant in the lower level called Sandals. They offer breakfast and lunch..There is a kiddie playground down by 5 Th. Ave and on Ocean Ave with views of the beach. What you might not know is Bradley Beach has great fishing and Blue crabbing. Just bring your poles and traps and have a ball. If deep sea fishing is your thing, you can always catch a boat out of Belmar 2 towns down about 10 minutes. Or you can fish off of Shark River bridge. What hasn't changed is my favorite Italian restaurant on Main Street called Vic's . Best pizza around. Pagano's restaurant along with Delpontes bakery best pastries and gelato. There is the Beach Cinema at 110 Main Street, which is good on a rainy day. I saw so many movies here including Rocky Horror Picture Show every week for the summer when it came out. There was a 12a showing that was crazy! If you love ice cream and desserts then go to Schneider's in Avon on Main Street. This is the place I first tried the " kitchen sink". They also have good German Food. Oh! I can't forget Bradley Beach has a bowling alley so again if its raining or you need something to do with the kids, it's alway fun. Once all the boardwalks are completely refurbished again, you can walk from town to town. Left to Ocean Grove and AsburyPark, and right towards Avon and Belmar. It will be a distance. Better yet , bike it! There you have it ! I think I covered all of Bradley Beach! Now enjoy!!!

8 people deep to pay for a parking spot? 20 minutes for parking meter line, 20 minutes to pay for $8.00 daily badge- no credit cards WTF? The waves were waist high and there was 30 people surfing. 7 people on each wave. I'm not even kidding-total kook fest. Then lunchtime and there was at least 25 people in line. Gave up waiting after 45 minutes for a soda and hot dog- forgetaboutit Pick a different beach unless you are a total Bennie kook- If you are- this is the place for you

Ask the Community - Bradley Beach

Are the restrooms open in bradley beach?

    Yes open, but limited capacity.

    Is beach tent/canopy allowed?

I think I remember a sign that read no canopys allowed. It may just be during peak season but I do remember seeing the sign.

For a person who doesn't drive, how far is the beach from the NJ train station? I'm traveling with 2 kids and it would help to know how far we would have to walk.... Thanks for any information because I'm planning to go July 26th.

You definitely can't walk it - it's probably ten blocks away

Can't complain about that! There's plenty of street parking right in front of the boardwalk as well as residential parking nearby. Since I visited after the summer season ended, I had no problem finding a spot at 12pm. If you're going during the season, I would suggest coming much earlier if you want to get a good spot closer to the beach. During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day), beach badges are required from 9am-5pm on weekdays and 9am-5:30pm on weekends/holidays. It's $13 per person. Children ages 11 and under + active military and their dependents are free of charge. They don't accept credit/debit cards, so remember to bring CASH. The beach is beautiful - clear, blue water and clean, soft sand. The crowd is more mature and family-oriented. They do have a lot of rules (no alcohol/smoking/cannabis/canopies/tents/sound systems), but I don't mind. It's not rowdy here, so you'll have a peaceful experience. There are bathrooms, a playground area for children, and a boardwalk. The boardwalk is small, but charming. There are benches for you to sit, relax, and enjoy the ocean view. There aren't many restaurants, bars, games, or entertainment around. They have a snack/food pavilion, but I'd suggest driving a few miles away to Asbury Park or Long Branch for a better dining and night life scene. Seeeeee yaaaaaaaa at the shore!
