Hadn't been in years, but the last time we were here it definitely wasn't $14pp for beach access. It was a pretty crowded Tuesday, but we found a good spot nonetheless, and laid out for a few hours. Afterward walked the boardwalk and got some fries, pizza, soft serve, and a disappointingly thin, crunchy funnel cake near the arcade. The kids enjoyed some rides, we made some memories, and really that's all that matters.

Point pleasant boardwalk was very nice! They have lots of shops, arcades, and restaurants along the beach. They also have a lot of home right along the boardwalk as well that are rentals in the summer. We went in the off season so there were mostly only arcades open. The beach was gorgeous and had lots of space. I would come here again when more businesses are open.

Love the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk! The casual strolls on the less traffic filled spots, the views of the shore, the salty air, the cool breezes at night, the Hub bub of Jenkinson's. All of it!

Great beach, broad-walk, food spots, sweet spots, ice cream stands, dip n dots, arcades, aquarium, mini golf, gift shops and nice amusement park all in one place. You can't ask for more. My granddaughter enjoyed herself, have no complaints.

Funnel cake with apple on top. Funnel cake was a decent temp. The Apple was cold--should be hot imo.

This place is always a blast, but you have to be okay with crowds. If you want a quiet beach and boardwalk experience, you should go somewhere else. Also, if you're planning on swimming after hours, don't. You'll get yelled at. Overall, though, a nice and family-friendly experience. Get some funnel cake, and don't forget about the famous Kohr's Frozen Custard!! Always delish.

Since the pandemic I've been spending a lot of time at the beaches and point pleasant has been my go to for many reasons. Getting there isn't too complicated and it is not as fussy as other Jersey shore locations. Depending on the time you arrive parking may be really challenging if you want to be at the center of the boardwalk where all the happenings occur (more food options and amusement rides). But if you are okay with being away from all the commotion like myself then finding parking is fairly easy and my walk to the less crowded section of the beach isn't too long. Especially considering having a lot of equipment for my baby's beach fun, coolers, and other entertainment, the walk length is a huge factor. Having those beach wagons is a must. The waves were great but the water was super cold so folks probably won't be able to comfortably swim until late July or August when the water warms up. All in all a nice go to when looking for a beach day.

Ah yes, zero social distancing on this first day of summer. The boardwalk was packed today! (6/20/2020)

This boardwalk is very small but it's quite pleasant, as the name suggests. You can watch ships and boats rolling into the inlet from the far north end, or you can walk around and have lots of food and drink options to choose from. They have a few mini golf places and arcades, so there's fun to be had. It's a quick drive from the Philly/Trenton area on 195, so if you want a nice little family oriented boardwalk experience this is a good option. Note: most people on the boardwalk were neither wearing masks nor social distancing, so you might want to skip it if you are immunocompromised.

A recent New Jersey poll ranked Point Pleasant Beach as the 15th nicest beach on the New Jersey shore. I personally like a more rustic natural shoreline. Point pleasant beaches have a yellow sand with palm trees and a highly commercialized boardwalk. If you need a boardwalk, I prefer Wildwood or Seaside Hights. This year New Jersey is offering free access to all New Jersey Stete Parks including long Beach Island. Point Pleasant is a little city on the New Jersey Coastline. A friend invited me down for the weekend but I choose to come home early Sunday. The major attraction on the boardwalk is Jenkin's Aquarium which is small compared to the Baltimore Harbor Aquarium in Maryland and many others. In many ways the boaredwalk is a traditional New Jersey boardwalk. Pizza, games of chance, waterparks, saltwater taffy, minature golf and sportwear outlets. I like Jame's Saltwater Taffy. I spent most of Saturday paddle boarding which I rented from Paddle Surf New Jersey. H2 Windsurfing is another business you might want to consider if you like that sort of thing. The water temperature this time of year on the New Jersey coast is 65 degrees. The temperature on the sand beach can burn your feet. The boardwalk itself is 90+. A beach pass will cost you $12/per person. The beaches are open 8a.m.-7p.m.. I'll stop here and let my photos tell the story of the Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk.

We went here off-season, so I'm not sure if my review is the one that will tip the scales in you going here, but it's a phenomenal area. It has just the right amount of stores, classic boardwalk kitchen, and amenities. It was clean, I had a pleasant vibe, and a good crowd. I'd love to go back in the summer.

It's been a long time since I've last visited the Point Pleasant Boardwalk. Unlike Seaside Heights and Wildwood whose Boardwalks seem to go on forever, Point Pleasant can be toured in a short time. Although not as big as the others mentioned there's plenty of fun stuff to do. The little ones would definitely enjoy the rides, though some seem to be shut down due to social distancing measures. Plenty of restaurants, pizzerias and outdoor Tiki bars for the drinking age crowds. There's something for everyone no matter the age. My memories of this place were of different times and at a younger age.

A boardwalk with something for everyone. If you want to bring the kids there are rides, aquarium, games, mini-golf and a funhouse. Just the adults...grab a drink and dinner, or just take a nice stroll along the boardwalk. If you're looking for all the action everything is in the center. If you want some peace and quiet just stay towards the ends. Prices are high here which is why I'm taking off a star. Everyone over 5 pays for the beach. All of the amusements are pricey. Around Easter they sell discount tickets for the rides. There are also ride band days/nights where you pay one price. Also check deal sites like Groupon that sometimes have special deals. Overall a really nice boardwalk.

Great boardwalk with lots to do, I've been coming here for about 30 years. They have plenty to see and do. Nice beach, tons of food, rides, games and gift shops. They also have mini golf, 4D theater, arcades, tiki bar, nightclub, funhouse and a great aquarium. The one thing that's a pain is finding parking. You either pay a fortune to park in one of the private lots or circle around the municipal parking lot endlessly waiting for someone to leave so you can get a spot and then pay $3 an hour on weekends to park. Other then the parking hassle it's a great place for family fun or a date night as well. I try to make it here at least once a year. They also have fireworks on certain nights as well and we were lucky to catch the last show of the season on the day of the Seafood Festival... great visit to the Jersey Shore...

Had a great time on boardwalk! It was not really crowded and lots of people not wearing masks and that was disappointing. We found a couple restaurant's to eat and had a great time.

Ask the Community - Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk

How much is the beach cost to swim? And is there showers?

The beach costs $9 during the week and $10 on the weekends!

Do you have to pay to go on the broadwalk or rides if you already paid for the beach?

Yes! You can get the $80 band that includes mini gold, aquarium, fun house and the rides, but I'm pretty sure the beach is still a separate payment.

Do you know if there are any gluten free food options? Sadly, I have celiac disease and it's very hard for me to find good food and great restaurants that are considerate to my diet.

I wouldn't say much option. But there's always salads and some seafood options

I stumbled upon an Instagram image of tiny periwinkles found here on this particular beach, so decided to come in during a day trip in the winter on a crisp, sunny day. We just grabbed the first parking spot closest to the beach on BRIDGE AVE. Looks like there's been some pretty severe beach erosion, so the walkways end abruptly and are cordoned off. Like others, we sidestepped the closed off walkway and scrambled down a steep but manageable sandy bank. Caveat - it is January, so no beach passes are required, and if you do your research you'll know that there are no garbage cans, no public bathrooms, no food allowed, no drinks except water allowed, and beach passes are stringently enforced during the summer. Very few people around, and there were dogs having a rambunctious time. The beach itself is quite nice - the water was clear, the beaches clean, the shoreline fairly shallow. And if you look carefully, beach combers will delight in the tiny periwinkles and rare sea glass you will find. Come as close to low tide as possible and check the wrack lines for treasures. But to be honest, I'm not sure I would come back if I wanted to spend a whole day here.

2-Star Review for Point Pleasant Beach…read more Point Pleasant Beach used to be our go-to summer spot about 4-5 years ago, but sadly, it's gone downhill--big time. What was once a relaxing beach day has turned into an over-policed, overpriced headache. There are more cops patrolling than actual lifeguards, and getting onto the beach feels like you're going through airport security. Not exactly the vibe you want on a chill summer day. Also it's so annoying that they turn off the showers after 7 pm .. Ridiculous!! The water was murky and dirty--definitely didn't feel like going in. Food is ridiculously overpriced, and finding parking is a battle in itself. Honestly, the place has lost its charm. It ain't Point Pleasant anymore... more like Point Unpleasant. Gave it 2 stars only out of nostalgia--otherwise, it would've been a 1.
