My husband and I came to Alaska for our honeymoon, and this was one of our favorite spots. To be…read morehonest, we didn't expect much at first because I'm not a fan of snobby chocolates (I like basic flavors). But wow, we were in for a surprise! We walked in the shop, and there was a gentleman at the counter who greeted us and explained the chocolates to us. It turns out he is the husband of the master chocolatier who makes the chocolates! Ingrid, his wife, runs the original shop at another location where she makes the chocolates, while the husband manages the hotel location. It was a pleasant surprise to find out the gentleman is a Korean, just like me and my husband. He shared with extensive detail how each of the chocolates are made and the painstaking (and almost impractical) process that his wife goes through to craft each piece of chocolate. And yes, they are gorgeous! But even more than just the appearance of the chocolates, I was blown away by the taste. Some flavor combinations sounded a little crazy, but they actually tasted good and suited even my basic chocolate palate. If you're in Alaska, this place is worth a visit because there truly is no other place like it. It is a bit pricey, but it is well worth the money in my opinion.

I went to the breakfast near by and saw this shop as we were about to leave. It looked interesting…read moreso we decided to check it out. It a small little shop with all sorts of goodies. It has various flavors of taffy, popcorn, and other candies. What's really special about them is that they have glacier water taffy (they use the glacier water to make their taffy - much better than salt water taffy in my opinion) Service: I thought that the service here was super friendly and professional. She let us try samples of everything and was gracious enough to tell us a little history behind some of the flavors. Goodies: Taffy - I usually am not a big fan of taffy, but I like these! I especially like the watermelon and fireweed flavors. Popcorn - One of the better candied popcorn I've had. Again, I really like the fireweed flavor. Chocolates/Fudges - I haven't had any of their chocolate products, but they sure look delicious! Overall: I think this is a great little shop that anyone who come and check out. The prices are reasonable and the quality is great!

At the moment they don't have any salt water tarfy. They guy who must be the owner or someone told us a story about how they can't get the syrup or rather the buckets to store it in. So no salt water taffy for the past two years but he said they would bring it back in the future. We ended up getting dill pickle pretzels(I didnt like them, they tasted nothing of pickles) and a pack of popcorn in the $5 bin. It was in the $5 bin because sometimes the little square food saver thing doesn't work and it doesn't seel the package. The popcorn tasted fine tho. They had some flavors I would have liked to try like everything bagel but I don't know if they do samples. The other portion of their place is where they make the products, lots of popcorn popping. You can also find their items at waffles and what not down the road and I've also seen them at Walmart in the Alaska section.

Each tart had its own unique flavor, perfectly balanced and not too sweet, which made it way too easy to keep reaching for another. The chocolate raspberry cake was a standout--rich, moist, and layered with just the right amount of tartness from the raspberry filling. What really surprised me was how satisfying everything tasted without feeling heavy or overly sweetened--and even better, it didn't spike my blood sugar the way most desserts do. You can tell there's intention behind the ingredients and how everything is made. They also have plenty of other baked goods like cookies, brownies, and more, so there's definitely something for everyone. The staff are friendly, and the bakery itself is so cute--such a welcoming little spot that makes the experience even better. If you're looking for treats that feel a little more thoughtful but still indulgent, this spot is definitely worth checking out.
