Ohhh, you little sneak.
Hiding away down there under a Wagamama. Almost got away with it too, if I wasn't meeting someone here for a, well, a meeting, as it goes, I would've walked right by the joint. This is one of those cafes that caters almost exclusively to business workers, the kind of joint that's soulless and perfunctory, but Bello manages to inject a hot shot of human warmth into the mix to leave you walking away feeling good, which I not only appreciate but admire in a man. Which is to say, a business. Admire in a business. Ahem.
There's some sweet little coffe'n'toastie deals (think theT/A latte and a cheese, ham and tomato toastie went for around 6-7 clams) but I ate in and sat at one of the outside tables looking out onto that nice little parknear The Basement and that bar with the big buzzy beer garden whose name I can never remember.
Jag the banana bread if you're of a min, it's light and not too oily and rilly fills a hole. read more
