Our experience with Tom was so great! He responded to my inquiry pretty quickly and got me on the schedule for about a month after (he's booked out about 4 weeks). Now, I must say that we were in no hurry to have our piano tuned, but I did see on his website to reach out if it's an emergency, etc. Initially, we were going to have him tune our old upright piano, but in the time between scheduling the appointment and the appointment day itself, we purchased a new (but used) Kawai GE-1 baby grand. I completely forgot to inform him till the day before the appointment that he'd be tuning a grand instead of an upright, but he ensured me it was completely fine. He arrived within the timeframe he gave us, and was professional throughout. Tom was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I asked. He also showed me the areas of the piano that were out of tune; and how humidity, etc. could effect this. The entire tuning took just a little over an hour (of course this also depends on what he's working with). As our piano is still getting acclimated to our house, he recommended scheduling another tuning in about 2-3 months; then having a routine tune of twice a year after. Of course there was no pressure from him to do this, but we appreciate his honest recommendation. Towards the end, he played a piece as he was finishing up, and I was just so amazed with how much he had improved the sound! He just made it so much more inspiring to play. My six-year-old Yamaha 585 started acting up, and my teacher referred me to Tom. He very nicely explained the issue and the options, and while we're waiting for parts, he came in and cleaned the contacts to hold us over. The piano is feeling much more even, though he was very upfront that this may only be a temporary fix until the contacts can be replaced.
