Updating this review after my dad's second stay here.I'm forever grateful for the care he's received at this facility, once again. Every time we come, the staff especially the administrative team are incredibly helpful and supportive. You can really tell they want every resident to feel their best before leaving the facility. They even include families in activities with the seniors, like arts and crafts and baking, which makes the experience feel warm and welcoming. My brother received great care from the nursing staff He was sad to say goodbye to a few of the employees. The admissions woman Was absolutely very unprofessional, rude, nasty, and simply downright UNBELIEVABLY DISRESPECTFUL!!! She yells at people! She became extremely hostile when there was a change in the plan to transport my brother. She was angry because of all the paperwork she had to do. My grandma had a stroke and Lakewood UCI doctors recommended for her to go to rehab. Toured a few facilities, but this one felt like home. Everyone was friendly during our tour. The staff at this rehabilitation center were professional, patient, and genuinely caring. The facility was clean, the treatment plan was personalized, and communication was excellent. After spending a couple of weeks in a hospital, the doctors suggested a rehab facility. Over the years, I have been to 2 other such places. They ranged from excellent to frightening! Both of them were 1 1/2 hrs drive, one way. This time my wife checked out several places in advance. She recommended Bellflower Post acute. From the number of patients and rooms I saw, I would estimate about 70 patients. The facility was close to home, with a friendly dog visiting policy. They provided regular scheduled visits by doctors, podiatrist, dentists, etc. They would also help coordinate outside appointments with patient doctors and lab work. You could choose to have your clothes laundered by the facility or have a family member take care of it. They provided monthly haircuts by a visiting barber. The following are my ratings of their services: CNA / Nursing Care: (5) Excellent, excellent, excellent! Miranda, Sophia,Pearla,Sarah, Teila (Taylor), Ronisha, Rayna. Were assigned to take care of me during multiple shifts during my stay. Physical / Occupational therapy: (5). As much as I could safely handle. Food: (2) comparable to most hospital food. Fortunately, they have some alternative items you can order along with an In-and-Out Burger across the street. Overall rating: (4.7). I would stay there again (if needed) and highly recommend Bellflower Post Acute. read more

This review is only based on Patty Aguilar the one that chooses the care patients receive. When she met my family told my mom she was going to go with her we had asked questions about the care my mom would receive and she told me my mom wouldn't receive any rehabilitation only skilled nursing care because she wasn't 65 yet and her insurance wouldn't cover it after a stroke that made one side of her body flaccid. The tone it was said in was off putting so then she talked to her colleagues and said her facility denied the care plan so that was it. read more

My grandfather had a wonderful experience here!! We were so nervous about making sure he got the proper rehabilitation after his stroke, but from start to finish they made him and us feel comfortable. Staff was attentive, kind and very professional. The therapists were extremely knowledgeable and really helped him progress to the point where he could safely return home. My husband was admitted in this facility with a huge wound infection, he was treated in other hospitals and he never saw results until they started taking care of him here. A miracle happened, all the staffs here are the most sweetest and professional, they treat my husband very well make him feel like he is at home. I was in this facility for three months and appreciated the efforts of everyone, including the Physical Therapy staff. They have many activities to keep their clients engaged. There are board games, trivia, coloring, movies, music and bingo. There too many options to mention everything. The activities staff works very hard to offer a great variety of activities. Additionally they encourage everyone to exercise daily. From time to time they hire outside entertainers to perform. They have special breakfasts when they invite policeman fireman, etc to come facility Food is delivered 3 times a day plus a snack is offered in the evening. are outside grounds with plants and grass, There tables with umbrellas and benches so you can sit outside with visitors, etc..Many rooms have glass sliding doors so you can look out or exit touar room. The staff running this facility is engaged and checks on the patients regularly, often breaking flowers for your room. Place has new owner, new management, very professional medical team, and caring staff. All at BPA are working hard and it shows. The facility is small, extremely clean and food above average. It isn't chaotic like other nearby facilities. Busy yes, but much quieter than the others. It is getting a facelift but don't be afraid to place your loved one in the care of the good people who work here. My loved one is here and while his health isn't good, his care is. I hate I had to give them 1 star! They deserve no stars! Do no!t I repeat do not take your love ones here. My mom was in distress and almost died in here. My auntie had to call the paramedic herself because she was on the phone with my mom and my mom sounded like she was in her lay days! I immediately video chatted with her and my mom was looking like bad!! I've she got to the hospital coming to find out she was Dehydrated and haven't urinated in days! I called the Dr myself personally numerous of times and as of today I'm still waiting on a call back. My mom had on to little diapers and they CNA 's there weren't attentive at all! My mom left there and never went back! it was so bad I told them to keep her belongings we'll get it all new! Please don't take your love ones lightly when they say they are getting treated bad. read more

I was at Bellflower post acute facility for over a month receiving physical therapy and I have nothing but great things to say. Patty and Lisa, goes beyond the call if duty, to make sure the patients/clients are good. And I just can't say enough about the entire staff. Anyone of them I came in contact with or called on, always had a smile on their faces and had no problem helping with anything. Alot of times I didn't have to call on anyone, because they were constantly checking in on me to see, if I was ok or needed anything. If I had to be away from home for a long period of time, it definitely would here. Thanks for everything you guys! read more

Took my dad here after ER doctors recommended me to bring him into a nursing home for a 2 to 3 week stay. I was skeptical about bringing him into a nursing home since it was my first time taking him to one. I searched thru yelp and found Bellflower Post Acute which was close to home. Im glad I chose this nursing facility. Everyone is so nice here and all the staff and nurses are very attentive. The facility is very clean and i see other patients getting there physical therapy done. Everytime i visit my dad he seem more healthier than before. They make sure he is clean and well fed and gets his physical therapy. I know they feed him good because he gain some weight during his stay, which is a plus because he was skinny when he first came in. I can definitely say they taken good care of my dad because he looks more healthier than when he stayed at the ER for about a week. I will not hesitate to bring him back here if he needs to go to a nursing facility again. I highly recommend this place if anyone wants a loved one to get the care that they need. read more

The office experience overall was very good quality. I was supported by Lisa Lopez and Stephanie in administration very well. Both went above and beyond to meet all my needs and kept me informed and made me feel very comfortable during transitions. There is a great nurse by the name of Rosemary who always made me feel welcome and helped always mixed in with one or two really great CNA's. I wish I remember their names . However the type of care my mother received was fair/basic. I had to consistently request for Doctors to communicate with me, and 9/10 x's it didn't happen. Situations did occur that made me feel as if the staff and were not as attentive or able to meet the needs of their patience. The more I visited the more incident I witness, from walking into my mothers room and her not having on underwear multiple times to her walker getting broken, tointensiveness where she actually use the restroom inside her walker and staff not coming when requested nurse button was pushed. She has fallen there and the sent to the hospital. I even witnessed a man fall in the hallway too. Overall I would say if you want to know what's going on with your loved one show up often and unannounced, ask questions and be very observant. read more

Excellent place, from admission department, nursing and rehab. A family member of mine was admitted at this place, with pressure sores that developed while at the hospital that we not even aware of but thankfully the wound care nurse at this facility Joyce was able to prevent from getting it worst by involving and referring my mother in law with a wound doctor, She is very professional explaining and getting us involved with the tx plan, very compassionate and always have positive vibes. The pressure sores she developed at the hospital are all healed. I would recommend this facility. read more

Skilled nursing facilities have developed a bad reputation in the past years. And I must admit, I was a little bit nervous at the thought of my mother going to a nursing facility. But I cannot explain how grateful I am at the amazing level of care that was given to my mother While she resided at BPA. The nurses were gentle with my mother, and genuinely cared for her. She developed amazing relationships with the care team as she progressed in her health. My mother went from constantly falling and hurting herself, to walking up to 1.5 miles with her walker. She spoke highly of the nurses, especially of Velma and Jerry. Even now, when she gets angry at me, she says that she wants to go back to BPA where Velma and Jerry will take care of her. If you are looking for a skilled nursing facility , I highly recommend BPA . I am so grateful for everything they have done for my mom. read more

This people advertised that they can care for people with dementia and other mental illness lije my mother but it is not true my mother had been there about three month and this is the second time they transfer her to a hospital because there not able to properly care for her . The staff and management team are super nice, caring, and attentive to my Mother-in-law needs. They gave her one to one care since she's a fall risk. They gave her fun & stimulating activities to keep her busy and strengthen her memory. They treated her very nice by braiding her hair, painted her fingernails really pretty, cleaned/trimmed her toenails, and of course, kept her clean. Patients there are very nice as well and seem to like the facility. Patty was super welcoming and informative upon my mother-in-law's admission to the facility. Lisa was very accommodating & helpful with my Mother in law's discharge planning. Overall, I am very happy with the nurses, the CNAs/safety, dietitians, the PT, OT Team, etc. They all seem to work very well together.
