As a follow up since my previous review, kindly allow me to comment further. It has been approximately two months since my discharge from Paramount Convalescent Hospital and Skilled Nursing Facility I have made significant progress. From the diligent care I received I have not suffered another attack due to my spinal stenosis diagnosis. I am eternally grateful to all the staff (especially the PT/OT staff, nursing staff and housekeeping staff ) for their professional support and concern. Thank you all. read more

My family we really do appreciate this facility. My mother was at another facility for over a year and they did not treat her the way that she's been treated since she's been here. I thought of this place when I was visiting my Loved one's grave, I began to cry. After my loved one suffered a fall in early November, they went into this facility with the hope of physical rehabilitation and 24-hour care in case they fell again. I'm so sad at the hospitality of this center; the nurses did not come by regularly; they did not brush teeth or hair nor did they provide routine bathing. My loved one suffered a few infections due to this neglect in hygiene maintenance and my loved one could not do it on their own. Physical therapy was given minimally and we were unable to get any Dr.s to visit. The case manager, Lisa, was really rude to my family and even threatened legal actions when I wrote a prior review of my experience. It was a nightmare. My family and I visited our loved one almost every day and were on the phone for hours back and forth between the insurance, facility and Dr. visit request. Toward the end of my loved ones stay (about 1 month) they suffered a UTI that went untreated. Upon discharge of my loved ones stay, Lisa stated that my loved one had recovered and can return to normal activity. When we went to pick them up, the facility had my loved one sitting in a wheelchair asleep in the lobby wearing another person's clothes and their belongings missing. My loved was was so lethargic they could not even stand, we had to have 2 nurses get them into the car. By the time we got my loved one home, they could not walk and had been dripping blood from the rectum and urethra, we rushed them to the ER. We found out they had blood in urinary tract and bowls caused by an ulcer in their intestine. My loved one passed away 2 weeks later. Some advice, please research any convalescent or rehabilitation care center you send your family too, visit every day, get familiar with their medications, health statuses and concerns and fight hard to advocate for them. read more

My brother Riad Elsayed was in and out between hospitals and this nursing home for many months before he passed away. While in the nursing home, he received an excellent level of care from every staff member.They were professional, caring and focused on his needs. I commend everyone there from the administrator to supervisors, nurses and nursing assistants. I would name some of the excellent care providers there: The supervisors Irene and Mary, Siria and Racel the nurses, Fabi the receptionist and secretary, Renal and Julius and others whose names escape me. I have been a patient for nearly 2 months, the care is exemplary the food outstanding but this place is not for me. I have had nothing but trouble from a few of the staff in which I have come up with tremendous Anxiety and Depression more than I can bare. For this reason I'm leaving the hospital as soon as I can. Toward the end of my stay I've been treated horribly but being the man I am I do not drop names, that is for you or anyone to work out. They did not clean the room prior to my mom's arrival. They are not attentive to the patient's timely.

Paramount Convalescent is top of the line! They definitely put care first and are so warm and friendly to everyone, patients and families included. Their quality of care is exceptional. You get a sense that all the nurses really care about those they look after and treat patients as if they were their own family. Not only do you feel a sense of warmth and comfort from the staff, you also can see it in the patients' faces here that they are happy and cared for. The patients love their rehab time because the physical therapists are genuine and really treat the patients like friends. Warm, friendly, clean, and the highest quality of care. Dr. Yan suggested this facility Paramount Convalescent Home when I was in the hospital approximately 2 months ago when I was recovering from pneumonia. I told him I'd go there if it didn't smell & it was clean- we both laughed & here I am. I meant a lot of nice people who were nurses & CNA (Certified Nurses Association). Most of them were Spanish & some didn't speak much English but still were nice & did their best to communicate. I meant the social worker Lynda Fraser (hope I spelled her name right), she was very friendly, knowledgeable, very helpful with anything you needed. We became friends too. She made me feel very comfortable & encouraged me that I'd be well soon & be home. I liked her attitude. I could name some others too who I considered friends, like Florence, CNA-she helped me color my hair when I first got here -she has a bubbling personality/ Fabby who is like me in lots of ways & does lots of jobs here -I call her "jack of all trades". Than there is Iris who found my pants in one day I was so grateful- Jay therapist who comes in your room with a huge smile & says well are you ready to walk & exercise? He's brings sunshine to you & laughter when don't feel like doing nothing, keep that smile it's contagious. Corrina therapist, she is quiet but smart & sensitive to her patients I really like her, she's easy to talk too. I could go on & on & name more but some of their names I can't pronounce. They all have smiles for you & they laugh with you & comfort you when you are down- I can laugh- joke - & cry around them like their my family & they do their best to comfort me. I've read some other interviews that were bad but I felt they were unhappy to begin with & they wanted to hurt someone as they were hurting. My heart goes out to them. I'm sure their are places here that could be improved. What I see is that they all try -not every place is perfect but as long as they do there best & the health department passes them & they change what needs to be changed than I'm satisfied. I always pray over this place & the employees after all I'm living here & I want my Lord Jesus hand over this place at all times. I wouldn't give this any stars at all and I wouldn't recommend taking your love ones here as soon as my dad was put in his room a nurse yelled at my dad the nurse name is Blanca Galindo Miranda .. and also they didn't have insulin medication for him at the moment that his blood sugar was high, they didn't change his diaper after we constantly ask them to.. this is how they receive and treat new patients who knows what they do behind close doors ones family isn't around. My aunt was just admitted last Friday to Paramount Convalescent Hospital. She is very happy to be near her family. Lauren made this possible by acting quickly and arranging her transfer from another facility. My aunt likes her new accommodations and is enjoying her new roommate. I rate this place a 1 star in the beginning they were great than afterwards they weren't on top of stuff. My father was taken to this facility right when covid happened. My father was ill the staff was always sweet called me back etc but because I was on them if not I'm sure I wouldn't even get a call. My father had an ulcer on his heel which staff let me know and said it was healing slow but they would clean it often the facility let my father get an infection which lead to gangrene it was to late so they amputated my father heel he was sent to the hospital and passed away like 2 weeks later I never once got a call nor letter for this facility to give their condolences and not even for my Fathers belonging their the devil in disguises basically horrible place to take your love ones. The places looks beautiful in the hall ways but if you go inside the patients rooms are so outdated so ugly so sad I 100 percent regret taking my Father to a place like that I believed all their lies they act like they care but to them all they see is $ read more

This place is amazing! First off, the facility doesn't smell bad! Which for me is a really important factor! It's honestly the cleanest convalescent I have ever been too! My grandmother is currently a patient here, and she is well taken care of! The staff is very friendly! They answer any and every question that you may have. They make sure every patient is tended too 100%. I want to thank Paramount Convalescent Hospital for always being their best and for being such caring people! We have a family member who has been at Paramount for more than 2 years now. He is 92 and enjoys the caring attention that he receives from the nursing staff. The facility has lots of activities, such as exercising, performances, sing-a-longs and games for the patients. They have reading materials in both Korean and Chinese. Foodwise, they offer 3 different cuisines: Korean, American & Mexican food. We have found it to be a clean, safe and caring environment for him. read more

I have family friend that has been at Paramount Convalescent for several years. Every time I come to visit, the staff is so friendly and accommodating to me, my family and our friend. Chris the Administrator always goes out of his way to spend time with us when we are there. The nursing and rehab services for our friend have been over the top amazing. Many of the supervisors here are nice. However To get your business they offer so many things Nd lie to you. My mother came here Nd she hated it. It is unacceptable how they were bathing my mother in cold water for almost 3 consecutive weeks. My mother complained, I complained nd nothing was ever done. Aside from that, we were promised a privet room, Nd she never got it. Instead she was placed in a 4 bedroom. Before admitting my mother, I spoke with a lady by the name of Lauren, she claimed she was the supervisor. Before admiting my mother she was very helpful Nd available. After admitting, she only picked up her phone about 3 times, the last time she was very rude. At night the staff is careless about the people that stay here. I recall my mother saying she called for help on multiple times and nurses would walk in, turn call button off. Do not come here, keep searching, there are better homes for your love ones out in the same community. Thankfully my mother was sent out to the hospital Nd did not return to this place. All of a sudden I was getting calls from Paramount left and right because they wanted my mother to back. After telling them numerous of times that I had another home for my mother they still kept insisting. Thanks to Brookfield health care my mother has recovered Nd is now home, where she belongs. read more

Paramount Convalescent was my brother's fourth skilled nursing stay, and they are the best by far, starting with their open communication with me on day one when I was fed up with the dishonesty at three previous (two of them Kindred "one star") facilities and stated clearly my issues and wishes. Lauren, Bobby, and the Director Spencer talked with me for 25 minutes. Guess what? They kept their promise to provide honest services. Starting with Bobby and his staff in PT and OT, they didn't miss one appointment and stuck with my brother when he was dizzy and kept working with him (when other facilities: "He's dizzy, too bad, check mark, done for the day, let's bill the insurance company.") My brother was happy with the care, Lupe in nursing, food, comfort of the bed, therapy, the employees dancing in the halls in the afternoon during his 80 day stay. Spencer must be a good boss because his employees are happy, efficient, hardworking, kind, and very helpful. They enjoy a village atmosphere there. I never had to call and complain about anything. No one dodged my calls (like other places). Esther did a great job with discharge planning. Paramount Convalescent told the refreshing truth and kept their word. That's my highest accolade. I am deeply appreciative for my brother's progress at Paramount Convalescent. read more

Placing my father in a nursing home has been one of THE hardest decisions my family has had to make. I am sooo glad we discovered Paramount Convalescent Hospital. From day one the entire staff, especially Lauren Magallon, the Director of the Hospital, has made the transition a pleasurable one. Each staff member has made my father feel welcomed and accepted...and THAT was very important to our family. Covid has put a wrench in things but despite of Covid we could not be more pleased that my father is in a caring, supportive (to him AND to us) and attentive environment. This an excellent hospital. The staff, from Mayra and Denise in reception, to Brenda and her wonderful team of nurses, Maria the activities coordinator and Flor the social worker, they have gone above and beyond in the care of our mom after coming from another hospital. They are caring in the treatment of our mom, she no longer has matted hair, she is clean and happy. Staff was very patient with us when we were trying to get information and now that we can visit, we can see what a well run, clean, and friendly hospital this is. My father was a patient for approximately 3 weeks and every aspect of his care was superb. The entire staff keep me and the family informed about every detail of his care daily. Visitation was different due to Covid but we were allowed contact less visits by way of seeing him through the front window which allowed us to see that he was doing well and improving. We had telephone conference calls and team meetings outside to discuss his care and progress. The entire treatment team showed great care and concern for my father and it was evident that they wanted to help him improve. The administrative staff assisted my family in providing services and recommendations for his aftercare to ensure he continues to receive the services he needs. The entire staff at Paramount Convalescent Hospital went above and beyond for my father and I'm grateful for their dedication to their patients. read more

This place was recommended by MLK Hospital for my husband's physical therapy... me being a mother hen ... I did a little research about this place..... Let me just say.... after talking with Lauren (in admissions)....I felt very comfortable in leaving my husband in their care ... Bobby (is over physical therapy) ....he keeps me updated with my husband's process... The nursing staff is so very professional, caring and patient my husband... the nursing staff, is always willing to answer any and all questions day or night. Due to Covid-19...your not able to visit inside....but you are able too see your love ones ....though a large glass front entrance and talk to them on the phone at the same time .... Also if you have a iPhone...Marie is more then willing to connect you, with a face time call. This nursing home is very clean and up kept. Just judging from the outside, you know it's a very nice place. Unlike many others. Placing your love one here ... is the next best thing, other than having them home. My grandma was here until she passed away. All I have to say is that this place has been giving false promises to their patients especially with the recent change of administration. Looks like the business owner is trying to do damage control by responding to everyone's reviews now - in the end it's all about money right? My family has already voiced our concerns to staff with no change from management. So what's the use? And why now and not when the issues were raised? Bottom line patients are not happy here and not receiving the best care. Families should not have to stress about the quality of care their beloved ones are receiving especially during this fragile time of patients lives. read more

The team here is awesome. My dad stayed here for 5 weeks. During his stay he got so much better! I will list some of the staff that I thought should be mentioned. Suny is fantastic. I was new to this facility and I didn't know what to expect. Wow. She made me feel so comfortable. I couldn't believe it.I watched her with other patient s and she treated everybody the same She has a way of making you feel special. The nursing care is excellent. The CNAs respond promptly when called and the LVNs and RNs provide strong support. The physical and occupational therapy is superb. The activities are entertaining and varied. In addition, the administrative staff and the support staff are attentive and respond promptly to concerns. read more

I wanted to check out this facility for a family member. The moment I walked in, I was really impressed with lobby area. My dad was placed in their care for couple of weeks. The staff/s stole his shoes while he was asleep at night. One of his jacket was stolen another night. Two of other residents complained the staffs steal on regular basis. We were going to press charges and be prosecuted one of the staff for stealing my dad's watch. She brought back the watch and pretended nothing ever happened. It's degrading! However, I find some of staffs sit and feed those ill patients who are unable to eat independently. My father in law and my grandmother died of starvation at different facilities so I give 2 starts for that. read more

With the recent change in administration, things have done DOWNHILL! The facility is often short staffed, leaving patients who need sitters, without sitters for hours (due to their staff calling in sick). They've cut back on staff during lunch hours where patients are often left unfed (most of these patients require assistance w/ feeding) - only to have their trays then taken away. Which leads me to the next issue of my own grandparent (and other patients) losing weight. My grandparent complaints that the food is inedible. They're leaving these patients to slowly die. They've also been urging family members to consider other options of placing loved ones in different facilities - just to convenience themselves. Basically, it seems they're trying to pick and choose which residents they want to keep (low maintenance ones) and trying to force out the others whom they consider are an inconvenience to them. It's a good thing that these care facilities are regulated in part by the department of public health. At this point, I almost feel that the patients there are at risk of not receiving the appropriate nutrition and care. read more

This hospital was a place where my family could trust my grandfather in their care and genuinely cared about his well being. Now the quality has gone downhill since the new director Chris has taken over. The food served is uncceptable the entire facility has degraded drastically. I am on the verge of reporting these new practices to the health department and state so this does not end up causing other patients and families pain. read more

My mother is staying here. She has been in & out of hospital and also tried assisted living place, but was very unhappy with other places. But she loves being here. She feels comfortable. She feels like she is being taken care of. We are grateful to all the staff for their genuine care and kindness. They always try to figure out how they can help the patients and are very good at communicating with the family. Even though it was difficult thing to do when we had to move my mom there, I am grateful because I can trust them to take good care of my mom. read more

My mother stayed at the facility for five months. The staff members are great. They treat the elderly patients as their family members. I'm sure the physical therapy helped such that my mom was able to walk again with a walker. My mom recovered enough to moved to a assisted living facility. We are sure to use this facility again if she needs a convalescent care in the future. read more
