Part of the restaurant felt like a wedding venue with canopies and white curtains. The food: Branzino - my favorite item. Crispy skin, well seasoned. Nice assembly of roasted vegetables. Duck Confit - pretty crispy skin and tender. Crispy potatoes. Wish they did something with the greens which were unseasoned Crab salad - lightly dressed sliced cucumbers and crab. Topped with some beautiful shavings of radish. Pleasant but in my opinion, not super memorable. Food was good, service was great. We had a good time at Justine's.

If it were up to me, I would pray for this place to close down. But my wife loves the escargot so here I am writing this review. The inside: LOUD! This is a French restaurant, that plays hardcore, metal, rock, and all kinds of heavy music that does not fit the vibe, clientele, scenery, location, or the food they are serving. This is what happens when you hire Austin hipster kids to run a French restaurant and bar. SoundPrint has measured the sound level of the bar area to 86 dB (classified as Very Loud). For reference, a live rock band playing at a concert is around 90-115 decibels. So, the sound environment is overstimulating and obnoxiously loud for the size of the bar and dining area. The inside is small, the tables are sticky. It's cramped, and it's loud. It sucks. I once got a table for two by the bathrooms, and we couldn't hear each other from 1-2 feet away. Don't dine inside. Get reservations for outside. The patio: This part is hard to review because they change it every 2-4 years. However, this is where you want to go. Ask for a table outside, they usually have heating lamps now. They have I guess what could be called cabanas for small groups of 6 to 8 people that can sit in a covered cabana. This is where you wanna go to get away from the music and to enjoy the food. I remember we came during Covid and they demanded we sit in a big tent out front of the property that used to look very beautiful, but looked like a pest control tent at this point, and it smelled like a strip club. Zero ventilation, smelled like sweat, feet, and perfume to cover it up. Anyways they wanted reservations to be in this tent and they wanted us to be spaced from other people so they had different tables marked off so that nobody could sit there. Everything was very strict. Until about two hours into our evening and they finally gave in and filled up every table regardless. Again, that's what happens when you get kids in charge. They institute useless rules, and then they cave when money walks through the door. I only suffer this place because my wife loves the food. Everything on the menu is absolutely mediocre. I've eaten escargot in many states, cities and locations. It snails, bread, olive oil, and garlic butter. It's nothing special. I usually get the hamburger because anything else on the menu is overpriced mediocrity. At this point, I've probably had everything on the menu. There is nothing worth mentioning. The hamburger is pretty much the safest and least expensive bet if you have to suffer this place like I do.

Rosé Gosé (note accents) is in an unassuming Airport Blvd location (right next to Jewboy Burgers, an Austin favorite). It is run by a couple from Belarus that came here right after Covid to open up a restaurant, with a sister in Minsk. Defying expectations, the menu is not Balkan at all. If anything, there is a strong Asian influence with poke bowls and a lot of seafood. But the menu also offers beef tartare on their raw bar menu, as well as a steak offering and grilled chicken. It's a diverse and adventurous menu, all the way from small plates to hefty mains and vegetable sides. For the dessert, try the pavlova, a meringue confection stuffed with coconut mousse and topped with lime sorbet and a grapefruit slice sidecar. Everything is superbly presented, and unquestionably fresh and healthy without veering into twigs and berries territory. The cocktail menu is also playful, with a lot of nontraditional glassware and slight spins on popular drinks; their version of a Paloma uses prosecco instead of a splash of soda. The servers are all dressed in rosé jumpsuits and very attentive. The space is amiable and elegant without being pretentious. The table spacing is a little close, so that conversations carry between guests. The table setting has some nice touches, like the little wooden bench that holds your fork and knife off the table. In European fashion, water can be asked for but it won't be served with ice. Plan on taking your time and enjoying course after course.

Rosé Gosé was a delightful Mother's Day lunch spot. It is a whole vibe, and it is uniquely French! When we walked in an artist was playing romantic music on his keyboard, which set the tone for the brunch. It is a small restaurant inside with a larger area of seating on the patio. Of course, our reservations were inside in the comforts of air conditioning. You immediately notice a wine wall hence the name Rosé Gosé. The restaurant has many windows which provide lots of natural light. The tables house miniature yellow roses and utensils sat in a small wooden block...very French. All the servers were dressed in mauve clothing that resemble scrubs from a hospital. If someone stepped out in a French beret, I would have fallen over. Our server, Sergey, immediately served us water and took our order. The restaurant was highlighted as a modern European bistro. The atmosphere was charming, elegant, and stylish making it ideal for a Mother's Day brunch. My hubby ordered a ribeye, eggs and French Fries. I ordered the avocado toast with salmon and egg whites. While I'm not a huge red meat eater, I tasted a piece of the hubs ribeye and it was nicely prepared. My avocado toast was yummy to the nth degree! Everything was perfect. The avocado was precisely cut and at the right level of softness. The salmon was chopped into tiny little squares and so enjoyable to eat. We could not be more pleased. With a name like Rosé Gosé you would expect their drinks to be superb. My hubby ordered a hibiscus tea, which was delightful. I ordered a mimosa that had high quality ingredients and was perfectly balanced...so smooth. We were also pleased with the drinks. This was the first time at Rosé Gosé, however, it definitely will not be the last.

The chicken fettuccine alfredo was a solid pasta and came in a large portion. I also got a glass of moscato. My friends enjoyed the chicken piccata, triple delight, and shrimp scampi. When I made a reservation over the phone and also when I arrived, I was told by the hostess that there would be something special done for the birthday occasion. I saw in other reviews that they give a small dessert with a message, but they did not do anything of the sort. Our server was extremely slow, and the birthday dessert never came. This was a huge disappointment when I specifically chose this restaurant to celebrate the occasion.

My first 1 star experience was when my wife got food poisoning and when I went to inform the chef the next day he told me she was sick all night because she probably drank too much wine. Here is the reason for my second 1 star experience from this restaurant. Went today for a noon reservation on Mother's Day. Firstly, tons of kids here, no kids menu of any sort for Mother's Day. Their option was a grilled cheese with fries, which we were appreciate for, but why would you not think to have options for kids? Fruit cup, small burger, etc. they have these options during normal operations. Second, no one answers the phone here. I called 10+ times between 10am and 11:45am to request indoor seating. By default, they don't answer the phone nor do they at tiny grocer. One of the legs at the table they sat us at was so off balance that our drinks were spilling when someone would add pressure to the table. We had kid with us, so we ended up using three napkins in full cleaning up the spilled water. They missed putting in our order so, every table around us was served before us. We didn't get our food till complaining multiple times. Even after complaining tables around us continued to get their food first. To hold the table over I asked for fries to be delivered, something that should take minutes to prep, took another 15 minutes. Our food finally showed up at 1:15pm. We asked for to go boxes and even the boxes took 5 minutes. What is going on over here? I spent $20 at tiny grocer getting so many snacks for the kids because the food was so delayed. The entire table (minus the two toddlers) ended up leaving with zero food in our stomachs, but extremely frustrated. The manager comped our meal, which was very kind of him and he expressed tons of empathy. Classy move 100% This place is expensive and they just don't have it together. I don't like giving poor reviews, I rarely do it, but given this experience multiple times it's needed.

It reminded me of Indian spices with a little potato vibe, almost like a samosa in a new form. Hard to explain, but definitely worth trying for yourself. I also loved that the menu had plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, plus a lot of gluten-free choices, which makes it a great spot for anyone with dietary restrictions. Another fun touch is that the restaurant is attached to a little shop with unique trinkets to browse, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. I think this place would make a perfect date night spot, you can have a great meal, then walk around the area afterward. I'd definitely come back again.
