Just to be clear I don't even want to give it a star but I have to in order to write a review!!!! Again, the man at the counter was rude and unprofessional. Just read the review from June 9th--it describes the same behavior I experienced. I paid $10 extra for a cat-eye design, and the photo clearly shows that it does not look like a cat eye. When I went back and politely explained that this wasn't what I had asked for, instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, he became defensive and told me I would have to pay even more for a polish change. What is most disappointing is that he continues to respond to customers by arguing and making excuses instead of taking responsibility when the salon fails to provide the service that was requested. A professional response would have been a simple apology, a refund of the $10 charged for the cat-eye design, and an offer to correct the mistake without charging me again. Good customer service means listening to your customers, acknowledging when something wasn't done correctly, and making it right. Instead, I was met with a defensive, rude attitude and told to pay more to fix the salon's mistake. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this salon. read more

to start the owner and staff are unprofessional and rude, i got nail extensions and a design on them and it was so sloppy and messed up, the lady (forgot her name) made me bleed (clipped my cuticle way too much) she even had the audacity to yell at me. the nails were horrible and they used full nails instead of tips and some crazy gel glue that OBLITERATED my nails, ripping 3 off my right hand and 2 off my left and the nails that were left were as thin as paper. very unprofessional and rude will not be going EVER again. read more

The place was very spacious and tons of workers.They take walk ins I came at about 10:52 and they started right away.The workers are really nice!But they did question my age which I thought was weird.Be careful when choosing your color because my was way lighter than it looked.We got done in about 25 minutes.I ended up getting a different color and it was perfect.I got to the dry area where you dry your nails and feet and it was about 11:24.Overall I like the service! read more

Aside from the toxic patriarchy, that nonsense is so old this isn't 1950 anymore. This is completely not acceptable. I was trying to give my nails a break from drills, and let them grow out. Was upsold a "dazzle dry manicure" and with that inch I gave them they took a mile. She went and was using a drill to remove my nail polish: anyone with a brain can look at my weak and brittle nails and say "hmm, maybe that's not a good idea to use a drill" I said I wanna break from the gel and drills, please may I have a traditional manicure? The health and integrity (or whatever is left of them) of my nails should not be further comprised in the name of making an extra buck. Clearly as you can tell by the photo I had to take to show the tech that this isn't acceptable before polish. Had they just listened to the customer, and used their professional knowledge this dazzle dry fiasco wouldn't have been an issue. I have insane cuticles that need more time, and the whole situation was so careless that as a licensed cosmetologist myself, I hated seeing them try to play me for a fool, all the while not maintaining the safety of the client, and for anyone that doesn't know it's the number one rule for ALL beauty professionals. File, soak, push back or remove cuticle, oil, massage, paint and not play the customer as an idiot. Unacceptable. read more

Updated: I went to get another ombre nail done after my first had grown out (and yes it lasted surprisingly long!) This time I did not book with Christina and did a walk in. This was bad on me since the worker did not even do half as good of a job as my first ombre set. The nails were not as almond shaped as I wanted them to be (I ended up reshaping them at home), the gel nail was much more bulky, and the ombre was more patchy and didn't have as nice of a gradient. I don't even have a proper picture of the fresh nails since I went home and tried to fix them. I do have a video of the nails after reshaping and some growth since I got unfortunately got proposed to with the nail set. I have attached a snap of it. I avoided including the pointer in the video since the gradient was so splotchy, but you can kind of see it from the snapshot. Therefore, overall, my first experience with Christina was a 5/5, but there is an inconsistency in the workers ability to do gel extension sets. read more

This is THE GOAT of nail salons in Upper Bergen County. The salon is clean and Erick the nail technician is amazing. He always does a beautiful job on my nails. The young ladies who do the spa pedicures are also very good. The pedicures are very relaxing as are the massages you can get while getting your nails done. The owner makes everyone feel comfortable and there is never a wait even if you walk in. Overall a definite 5 star rating. read more

When I arrived I asked for an Ombre dip. I usually am told to "trust the process" because every manicure I get is always slightly different. After my nails were overloaded in "light pink" base they put clear UV polish on top and then wanted to put the glitter that I asked for as a nailpolish not a powder. I stopped them because it looked horrible at that point. I walked in today to fix the nail design from another nail salon. I wasn't pleased over the design and it was a busy Saturday so I couldn't get it re done. I remember coming to belle nails for a manicure and liked the service so I decided to just come in as they were open on Sunday (today). AMAZING experience here! I've been going to the same nail salon for ten years, but they recently came under new management and a lot of the staff left. I also like to get nail designs and they no longer offered it, so I had to make a switch. Nail art is always something I'm nervous about though because I've rarely had an experience where it turns out what I'm looking for. This is probably going to be one of the longest reviews I've done, but I ended up getting a eucalyptus spa pedicure and a gel manicure. Everything is very clean in the salon off the bat, with dividers between every station and hand sanitizer everywhere. They take your temp upon entering. The spa pedicure was done by Loren (I think that's how she spells it) and it was PHENOMENAL. I could weep, the massage pressure was perfect and my toes came out nice. Then Christina did my gel manicure, which turned out very closely to the original design I showed her. I've been going here since it opened. I came in for my Birthday mani and Pedi, and it was a horrible, rushed job. They were cleaning the floors and rushed my services. They simultaneously gave me pedicures and manicures to save time. To be fair, I came later in the day and asked the owner if it was too late. I told him I could come back tomorrow morning. He said no, we can do it. Well, this was the fast-food version, and I was rushed in and out, with both jobs being so sloppy. It was so bad that they asked me to come back in the morning to fix the gel nails. I nicely told the owner how unhappy I was and I would have preferred a Spa Pedi, which are $100 + and an excellent relaxing experience. I was not in a hurry and didn't love the hurried experience. He just stared at me with no apology. Asked me for the full price. I am in the spa business. I WOULD NEVER CHARGE SOMEONE WHO WAS SO CLEARLY UNHAPPY. I recently moved to Ramsey, before moving here I fid acrylic sets. For some reason in this area only UV is done. The first experience a man did my uv set and five nails broke off from me doing bare minimum tasks such as turning a door knob. I went back and told the owner and he got disgustingly defensive and started screaming at me in front of his customers and staff. A women came over and said shed redo and fill them for $35. I agreed, she started and right away couldn't resize the nail on my thumb to match the other one and made it incredibly wide and too pointy. Instead of applying the nails and than adding the gel, she just added the gel over plastic paper and burnt my fingers in the process. I call to make an appointment for today cause not many Places too pick from in ramsey nj with no car. The rude owner tells me its $55 now for a uv filling and fix the again broken nails. I told him he charged me $35 previously and he told me not there, as I'd forgot my shitty experience here. SERVICE & NAIL QUALITY HERE SUCKS. read more

This was my first time at Belle nails for a very well needed pedicure. Extremely friendly and courteous from the time I walked in and left. I enjoyed a thorough pedicure as well as callous removing treatment and I was very pleased with the whole experience. I do wish that they didn't charge an additional $10 for callous but charge for pedicure was average $25. I will most definitely be returning. Another bonus is that they open at 7:30 am!! I went on a Friday morning at 10 to get a pedicure with callous removal only to find that they were so busy. I was seated in a chair waiting for someone to do my my pedicure for at least 10 minutes and I was getting ready to walk out. I then get a man who doesn't seem to know what he's doing very frazzled and made it clear he was in a rush.cut bails but never cleaned under like always need and barely filed. The callous removal was a joke because my left heel still has one. The polishing job is terrible because he never filed and is rough and didn't polish top correctly. Updated honest review : I wrote a review previously regarding the owners work ethic and how terribly he treats people as well as horrible at micromanaging. I also felt that Christina wouldn't do designs I'd ask bc I wasn't tipping as much. I drove an hour to this salon only for Christina but once I tried to go about it differently I put 30% cash down prior to her beginning and all of a sudden the magic comes out. Sorta sick. That made me never want to see her . What I have to put down 30% tip first just so you'll do what I want ??! As well the day I went to get my nails fixed the owner was shrieking at me and telling to change the review immediately or they wouldn't help . I told him then help stop taking people for pedicures when I've made an appt and they haven't. I couldn't believe he forced me to delete my review and then has the audacity to comment back as if they are genuine and care for their clients . Stay away . I've been going to Belle Nails for almost 2 years now. One of the main things that makes this salon different is the atmosphere. It's very clean, great layout & I especially like that the pedicure area is set in the back for more privacy. Every time I walk into the salon Lisa (the owner) always greets me by name (always!) I LOVE that. There was a period when it had been months since I'd been there and she still remembered my name - that says a lot. I always get a Gel manicure and they last for 3 weeks, but I usually get them done every 2 weeks. They use great products & I have yet to experience any chipped nails. I will say this, there was a bad experience I had once with one of her nails technicians (who, thankfully, is no longer working there) and when I went back to complain that I wasn't happy with the results, Lisa immediately fixed it and didn't charge me extra. That's how much she cares about her Customers. Lastly, my FAVORITE Nail Tech at Belle Nails (aside from Lisa) is Jenny!! Jenny is my girl. She takes care of me every single time. She's very meticulous, takes her time, doesn't rush and most importantly for me, she is careful never to hurt me when she files, cuts cuticles, etc. She's amazing! This place is a MUST-go. read more

I wasn't sure on the colors and they went out of their way to find which colors are for warm and cold for me. Christina did my nails and they were done well. I would never go back here. They way over price 35 just for a polish change on my toes unbelievable. Then I ask for a fill and to fix a broken nail shitty job omg 105 buck down the drain now I have to go fix them some where else I told the lady there was a crack on one nail didnt fix it they just thru it. My nails are bumpy and poorly done. And now the crack nail that I went to fix is also broken. I got there at 6:30 I was out my 7:10 so a change of polish and fill they know I wasn't happy and didn't even fix told me come back Monday. I have tried a few different nail salons in the area and settled on this one as "home". They are a little pricier than some places and nail salons in big shopping plazas never get a good reputation - but this one is good. Most of the nail salons I've been to don't have any frills when it comes to gel fill ins. This is the exception. There's a shoulder massage and hot towel. They're also much faster. I'm always in and out in under an hour for a fill in, my old salons were always closer to an hour and a half. They do designs and all. I can't believe I'm been coming to Belle Nails for over a year now. Each time, I'm met with so much warmth from Sue, the owner, as well as everyone who greets you when you walk in (Sue also remembers EVERYONE'S name, which is the sweetest). I continue to come here for Belle's $13 manicures. With regular polish, not gel, they last over a week (and that's a week of doing dishes, cleaning, typing, not just sitting and looking at my nails). The manicurist Stephanie is no longer at Belle Nails, but I have had wonderful experiences with Esther and Ann, and never leave Belle upset about the way my manicure has come out. I recently started bringing a coworker with me to the salon during our lunch break (which the salon does their best to accommodate, if you let them know you're more pressed for time). She's raved about her pedicures, and how long they last. Belle is clean, fairly priced based on the extremely high quality of service, and has such friendly and lovely staff that it's well worth coming the salon - and then continuing to come, because once you begin going to Belle, no other salon at this price point will compare. read more

I've been in here in the past and have always been happy with the work, however today was the complete opposite. I went in with my sister and we each got a manicure and pedicure. My sisters nails were incredibly lumpy and they painted all over the skin around her nails. The woman didn't even fully take off her old toenail polish so she has old purple nail polish fully showing. She called back to inform them and was asked "what do you want me to do!?". She then asked for a credit and was told that wasn't an option. I got a French manicure and the lines were completely uneven and there was white smudged over the clear part of the nail. I could have done a better job at home and I'm not even great at painting nails. The woman who did my pedicure did a good job however! It seems they hire people who may have some experience in doing nails, but don't make an effort to do a good job. I wouldn't recommend this spot to others and I will not be returning. read more

Nails were ok. My issue is the files were not sanitized between customers. The nail tech was friendly, but another customer needed her nails adjusted and she filed them, then came right back to me with the same nail file after handling money and the phone. When I asked the tech to sanitize her hands and to not use the same file on me (I also had a cut next to my nail bed that had just bled a little) she asked if I thought the other lady was sick. This kind of confusion means she never changes files between customers. I was unfortunately very turned off from an otherwise nice experience. read more
