My wife are here for the weekend and decided to try this for the first time. I had spaghetti with meatballs for a up charge and a side salad with peppercorn ranch. My wife has Greek salad with peppercorn ranch. My wife really liked her salad with black olives and onions and feta cheese, other than needing chopped smaller she said it was good. The good stopped there for me as the salad was just very ordinary and the dressing plain, I would have thought a long term eatery such as this would have may their own. The spaghetti portion size was right, but the sauce and meatballs were extremely ordinary. The prices pretty pricey for plain food. All in all we have 2 visits to restaurant, the first and last. Would not recommend unless you just absolutely need Italian. read more

Love love love this pizza! Will drive 1.5 hours just to eat here! The staff is always friendly. The sauce is perhaps their specialty! The crust is not too thin, and had the perfect amount of crispness to the bottom. We always stick with the simpleness of a pepperoni pizza. Really good as a no frills pizza joint . No frills just good pizza and food in general . Staff was very attentive and friendly . Very prompt . The inside is kept very clean . Parking was a bit slim during a peak service time , but that doesn't bother me too much . The cheesy breadsticks had a very basic look but upon tasting one I ate five , they are fantastic ! Made a quick trip up here for dinner while visiting Johnston Memorial Hospital for the day. The parking lot is packed and small, but it wasn't crowded inside. Although we never saw their deck. We were given menus and told to find a seat. We ordered the Veggie Pizza size medium. It was perfect for two hungry people. The dress code for the employees could be better as well as our waitress, and it would be nice to have her long hair pulled back in a ponytail instead of I'm the food. We are from out of town and unfamiliar with the menu. The gentleman who took our order was less than helpful. Our order was incorrect. The portions are disappointing. The house salad was shredded bag iceberg lettuce with a few toppings. The calzone was good but was not prepared to our specifications. The steak sub was a joke. This place used to be amazing. Don't get me wrong, the food is still great, it always has been. That's not why I'm posting this review. I'm posting it because of the rude customer service. About a week ago, I called in an order around 9:25 at night, and was told the kitchen would be closing soon. This confused me, as their hours range from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. I mentioned this to the employee over the phone, and they actually said, very sharply: "Look, do you want to order or not?" I promptly dismissed my order as politely as I could, and decided to call back the next day. So I call at 6:30 the next day, placed my order with no problems, The problem came when I arrived, and brought my food to me. I smiled and said: "Hi, how are you today?" The guy mumbled something, and then looked back down at his register. I found that odd, and kind of rude. I give him the money, and instead of simply handing me the change, he SLAPS it on top of the box, and shoves the box to me as if to say: "Go on, get out of here." Despite that I still said: "Thank you. Have a nice day." And he actually laughs at me. He shook his head, chuckled, and walked to the kitchen. I get home, I pop the pizza open...and it's wrong. But I wasn't about to call and get talked down to again, so I let it go. It wasn't until one of my friends suffered the same rudeness that I decided on writing this review. I'm not going back. If you want great food and pizza, it's still one of the greatest places to eat, no doubt. But I'm simply done. I've never been treated like that at any restaurant. If I'm so much of a burden, then I will not provide my business anymore. I have no idea how they're able to get away with this behavior, I'll be taking my business to places that will at least fake hospitality. read more

I've been going to Bella's Pizza since 1983. The food is amazing, the service is first class & the atmosphere is perfect whether you're having dinner with your family or your whole sorority. Bella's is a MUST DO when traveling or visiting the area. Don't skip on the HUGE chocolate chip cookies by the register for $1.50. They are baked fresh in store and they are perfection. I have been a patron of this restaurant for well over a decade, but I went there last night for dinner after a long day on the road. I don't live here anymore, but when I did come home to visit family, this was always on of my must places to stop when home. Last night, however, was an abysmal experience: inedible. I realize it was a Wednesday night at eight o'clock, but you should have put some effort (even nominally) into providing a good service. You have lost a potentially lifelong customer. P.S. Hit Bella's after a long day on the Creeper. Calzones were absolutely outstanding! Well constructed and great taste. Syrian pizza was also good. Kids had veggie and pepperoni and both were ok, not great. Stop here if you are in town and try calzone and/or Syrian pizza. read more

Great western New York style pizza. I'm originally from NY... I know my pizza and this is very good. I've been eating at Bella's since 1979 and the pizza has consistently remained unchanged. It is by far the best pizza in the tri-cities. They have a great selection of beer on tap and in bottles. They recently remodeled the restaurant and created a wonderful outdoor space with waterfall and awesome landscaping. I highly recommend you get their Italian sausage pizza and cheese breadsticks. We are from Charlotte, NC traveling through the mountains and catching some new counties and cities. We decided to use Yelp in Norton with great success, so we tried again in Abingdon. This place turned up and we were not disappointed. I had the Calzone and it was really, really good. The sauce was unique as well. Not sure if that was garlic or parmesan in the sauce, but it was great. I would definitely get it again. I wanted to try the Syrian pizza, but it doesn't have meat by default. I guess I could have added a meat topping. Not sure what happened to William, but our food was out within 15 minutes of ordering. Another person said this place was loud. I would presume that would all depend on the number of people. We were here at lunch on a Sunday. The noise was average, but not loud. Anyhow, we found another great local restaurant that we were very pleased about, so thank you Yelp. read more

Have only been to Bella's twice. First time it was packed and there was only one waiter working. He was AMAZING! He was quick, attentive and knew how to get his customers taken care of. Salad was great and fresh. Pizza was on point! Second time was tonight. We walk in with only one table seated. Two waitresses were working. We ordered as soon as our waitress put our drinks down, and see others being seated. We notice 30 mins later that there are others who were seated well after us get their food and their waitress is handling everyone except our table and one other table. The other waitress brings our food. Our waitress didn't come back to refill drinks. But she did bring us plates, silverware and our check. She just didn't seem like she should be waiting tables...she wasn't happy to be doing it and you can tell. Pizza was great but salad not as fresh with some lettuce turning pink. I'd give this place another chance since the pizza was good and the first trip was on point. read more

A very good, hometown place to take a load off and get a good pizza. They have many different toppings and pizza combinations to choose from so there are plenty of choices. One recommendation: the artichoke dip is excellent, one of the best I have had, highly advise picking this as an appetizer. Would definitely stop here again on the way trough. read more

Don't let the exterior fool you. There is some seriously good pizza here. The crust was on the thin side and had some nice crunch to it. Toppings were great and quite generous. This used to be my favorite place to go, but the last few visits, including today, have been the slowest service and food delivery I have ever encountered at about any place I've visited. It is clearly under staffed, you don't even get drink refills in the inordinate amount of time you wait for your food. The staff have lots of excuses. If you have an hour for lunch, stay away. I'm not sure what I ordered yesterday. It wasn't a cheese steak sub because the waitress said the cheese steak was "ok." She told me the meatball sub was REALLY good so I opted with that. I am still trying to figure it out. What is a quarter inch of pressed, formed meat - With very DEFINITE rounded edges? Great pizza within walking distance from the motel we were in. I am always skeptical of walking into an unknown eatery but this was a superb. Pizza was good, 5 craft beers on tap that were ice cold and the servers were awesome.....friendly and eager to help. I go here all the time for the Syrian. At first, I thought I wouldn't like it- but it has since become one of my favorite pies.

As a local I've seen them change owners and started noticing something, when the younger crowd is working the food is over cooked and they often forget to return to refill your drink. If the older workers are there, service is top notch, food is on point and your drinks are always full. Only advice I have, their expensive. Way to pricey to be a common pizza place. read more
