I spoke to both my mother and mother-in-law and nothing has come to their doorsteps. Sweetpea's didn't bother to even call me or e-mail to tell me that the flowers will not be coming. I'm assuming they won't be delivered this evening. Even if they are, the whole point was to have them delivered to be enjoyed during the day on Valentine's day. I will NEVER use this company again. The fact that they didn't even have the courtesy to tell me that my order will not be completed as it was supposed to be shows a general lack of professionalism and a complete lack of respect for their customers. I'm hoping to get my money back tomorrow, because there is no point in getting Valentine's Day flowers after the actual day. Very disappointed!!

I did a quick Yelp search and found a few options - the photos of Helen Blakey's arrangements were most in line with my aesthetic and very reasonably priced for delivery. I ordered the Teleflora's Pretty Pastel Bouquet - Standard and made a quick note in the comments section about what I liked most about the arrangement. The online system was very simple to use (it looks like many florists use the same system) and I placed the order on Mar 10, 3 days in advance of the desired delivery date of Mar 13. I was a little apprehensive about placing an online order with a florist without any verbal/email communication but decided to give it a chance - and am so glad I did! The arrangement my mom received was absolutely stunning and even more beautiful than I expected!! I didn't specify a delivery time - the arrangement was delivered in the afternoon on the day requested. My mom has texted me multiple times about how much she loves the flowers and even said (and I quote): "I think these are the most beautiful flowers I have ever received in my life. The pleasant colours, the aroma, the charming delivery driver, the ribbons on the packaging ..." The arrangement & overall experience brought her so much joy! Helen Blakey Flowers is definitely going to be my go-to Toronto florist now & I may even look into using them for my Toronto wedding next year! THANK YOU to the Helen Blakey team for such a great experience :)

I completed the order process online, which was quick and simple. I requested for the delivery to be made after 4:00PM and the Helen Blakey team did a great job to meet my expectation. In addition to making a note on the delivery card to deliver as "late as possible," the individual that delivered the bouquet asked the security guard of the building to hold on to the bouquet and contact the recipient at a later time than when they actually dropped it off. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. I couldn't be more impressed with my experience and I look forward to placing future orders!

A few things I will touch on in this review: 1. Payment…read more2. What was advertised and what was delivered 3. Flower freshness 1. Several days prior to Mother's Day, I placed an order on Freshland's website for a bouquet ($88 after fees). Since I was opting for pick-up instead of delivery, I selected the payment method of "in-store". A couple of days later, I received a call from an employee asking for my credit card information so that they could process the payment before making my order. This call was unexpected, and I asked if there was another way I could pay because I wasn't comfortable reading anything off over the phone. They allowed me to send an e-transfer instead, which was an OK alternative. While I can understand that processes have changed under COVID guidelines, having an "in-store" payment option online with no indication that we will be called and asked for card information is a bit of an unpleasant shock. 2. Yesterday, I picked up my flower arrangement and it so poorly resembled what I ordered on the website. Understandably, Mother's Day is a busy time for florists and with stock limitations, some substitutions are necessary. HOWEVER, what I received did not at all resemble the arrangement advertised - I have attached photos so you can make the call for yourself. Less subtle differences to call out: no succulent (just a bunch of leaves in the shape of a succulent lol), SIZE, colour way (but ok, substitutions maybe? This can slide). It's pretty, but it's not what I ordered and paid for. 3. Flower freshness. Most of the flowers came fully bloomed so we knew immediately the arrangement wouldn't last very long. Some petals were starting to brown and wilt, and today (the day after pick-up) some petals have fallen out already. The arrangement costed over $88 after tax, and was underwhelming. I tried really hard to convince myself I liked it, but after showing photos to a friend who used to work in a flower shop I knew a review was imminent. I'm disappointed that this was my experience with Freshland because I've had excellent experiences with shops in downtown Toronto and have been looking for a business closer to home to support. The search continues.

I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking not only beautiful flowers but also professional and reliable service.
