Don't let the outside detour you, once you walk in, you're welcomed by a friendly face. The inside is decorated with vibrant colors not to mention the music playing in the background. The food, so delicious. It takes me back to my younger years in Rosarito driving our ATV to the local food stand for homemade food. I've tried multiple things and have not found anything I didn't like. read more

The food was fan freaking tastic, delicious! This little restaurant did not disappoint, and we are from the city, Chicago. If we live closer, we would be coming here more frequently. The service was superb. The young lady was adorable, knowledgeable, and super friendly. Thank you for your service! read more

I aaw the drive theu window was open here, on the hill. I have not eaten here before so I'm curious. i bought some steak tacos. The service here is very friendly and polite. Bella Vista - Steak tacos with everything, no cheese - Mexican Near Me - Algonquin, Illinois

Went back again for tacos and they were not as good as the first time. Maybe I was hungrier the first time.

The food served is delicious! Service is wonderful-- the servers have been so friendly and accommodating. Whether we have come as a couple or We have come as a large family group of 10 adults and 4 children (2 under 2years ), the food was tasty, plated in a pleasing to the eye manner and it was served in less than 15 minutes! (It's quicker with just 2 guests. Definitely try this restaurant -- it's worth your time !! read more

This was our go to place in the area for Mexican for a couple years, but their quality is not as good as it used to be. New owner? New cook? Don't know what the deal is but the last several times we ordered from here have been underwhelming. Prices are still good and the service is good. read more

First time visit ordered Steak Burrito w/cilantro was very juicy and totally one of best I've had, great flavor

Highly recommend their catering for events. The owner is incredibly professional. He goes above and beyond to make sure your event is perfect. We celebrated my mothers 70th birthday and used them to cater for 120 people. We had a tasting session to make sure we liked everything we picked. We were able to make payments up until a week before the event. The food was great quality and delicious. The pricing is super reasonable. Moving forward they are the only catering service I will ever use. The restaurant is nice and clean inside too. Overall an outstanding experience! read more

I'm glad we stopped at Bella Vista after a day of skiing. The food was really good and the service with a smile was great. We tried several different tacos. My favorite was the pescado(fish), and my son loved the lengua(beef tongue). The chips and guacamole were also very tasty. read more

What a wonderful little place! Locally owned Mexican restaurant with a warm, friendly staff and outstanding food. I was in from out of town and always like to look for those hidden gems. This is definitely one of the them. Nothing fancy - clean, comfortable seating inside and even a drive thru window (albeit awkwardly placed right next to the front door), but the food is the star of the show here. I tried the three taco plate with asada and pastor tacos along with rice and beans. I also got a small side of guacamole. The tacos were served in the traditional style and were awesome - loaded with super flavorful meat, onions and cilantro. The guac was a nice addition to the asada tacos. They also give you two types of salsa to add to the tacos as well. It was so good the first day that I had to stop again on the second day on my way back home! Thank you Bella Vista for a great experience! read more

Passed by this place many times, it's not really a building that grabs your attention as it is a standalone establishment on a semi main road. And it kinda looks a bit more run down. Finally decided to give then a try tho and I am soooo glad I did. I have been back at least once a week since I first stopped by in Nov. 2020. Due to covid the inside is closed but they have a nice little drive thru with a menu posted up on the wall. Just because it is NOT listed on the menu does not mean they can't make it! They will try to make you happy. Service has always been wonderful and I can only imagine the nice smiles behind the mask. 5/5 Service - We have ordered from several people so far and each person has been great. Very friendly and helpful. They repeat your order so they make sure everything is correct. After that you drive to the other side of the building and wait. The wait isn't too long but it isn't fast food fast either. Within reason the food comes out to you piping hot and nicely bagged. 4.5/5 Food - The main reason we go out to eat right? Well we always get chips and salsa with an extra side of chips. These chips are made fresh and come out slightly warm. The salsa is phenomenal slightly chunky tomatilla based and actually has a nice kick to it. It is not your typical red salsa you get at other places and thats what makes this gem unique. As for Tacos they have a variety of kinds for a reasonable price both flour or corn Mexicano or americano. All the various inside we have tried have been tender or juice and never dry. These tacos are simply amazing! My BF loves getting Burrito suizo's theirs comes with fries but they will easily substitute it for beans/rice at your request. The chile rellanos are really good, the batter is perfect. The two typical red based and green based side sauces have great flavor and a kick to them. The only issue we have is we find the quality can be a bit inconsistent but each time we have had them we are both satisfied nonetheless. Overall this place is a must try for Mexican food. Not your typical mexican place found in the NW burbs but this place is really a hidden gem. This is the closest to Southern Mexican my BF can find and it is close by which is a huge plus. Fresh chips, great service, wonderful flavor and actually has a bit of spice to their food. This has place has become one of our favorite Mexican places! So why not give it a try and see for yourself. We do recommend giving it at least 2 trys if it isn't great the first time just because of their slight inconsistency. Hopefully you won't be disappointed and you will enjoy it like we have! read more

The food here for the price...I truly do not know how they do it. Carnitas, salsa, guack; silly good Service (usually delivered) is on point and fast. I'm not sure about the ambiance of the place itself but you would be mad to pass it up! read more

Who doesn't love tacos on Taco Tuesday?!? I ordered from Bella Vista. Food and delivery came very fast. I ordered 3 tacos w/bean and rice, chips and salsa and carnitas by the pound for later. The chorizo and Al pastor tacos were yummy. Beans and rice were bland. Salsa had good flavor. On to the carnitas - I opened the package and inspected the meat. I was quite shocked to find pig ears, tripe and carnitas. I called the restaurant to resolve it and was told "This is authentic Mexican food, sorry". No where in their menu states that there is pig ear and intestines. See attached menu. I will not order there again. It's unfortunate. read more

Well this place looked tempting as I drove by, it was just what I suspected. Bella Vista is a consummate host. This restaurant brings it all together, easy prices that are fair, variety that appeals to every taste, very generous portions that guarantee you won't leave hungry, generous portions of beef, chicken, & unexpected sides dishes made fresh. Finally the staff that is naturally kind & friendly. I visit Mexico 4 times a year and I consistently find the very best, generous, and greatest value is in the USA. Dined in. Waiter was nice. I never got a bill but he told me how much I owed. Guacamole was house made and delicious, although small portioned. Nachos were a large plate and decent. Steak burrito was not good, the meat was low grade beef almost resembling ground beef. Pastor tacos presented well, middle of the road for taste. Chicken tacos were not good, it was parboiled and not edible. Prices hiked for sure, but par for the course. You can't miss this free standing building but it was a one and done for me. read more

Stopped in with my hungry brother and wow! The staff was super accommodating and friendly, and the vibe was cute and clean. But the real star of the show was the food - I custom-ordered a burrito and it was FRESH and AWESOME! The ingredients were top-notch and the flavors were on point. I loved that they were willing to make it just the way I wanted it. Overall, I highly recommend Bella Vista for a delicious and satisfying meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our family loves Bella Vista! My husband and I both grew up eating authentic homemade Mexican food and this tastes like home! We love this place! My wife and I have done carry out on several occasions and we have been delighted every time. Today we took some friends for lunch and ate at the restaurant for the first time. Myra, our waitress, was friendly and attentive. We were treated with fresh, warm tortilla chips, homemade salsa, and some guacamole . I love the chips when they are still warm and salted to perfection. It is amazing how some places can mess up the simplest things - But not here at Bella Vista! We all had different tacos and everyone was thrilled with the food. My favorite is the pork tacos served with onion and cilantro. The lunch special is served with rice and beans. Both of those were very good as well. Keep up the good work Bella Vista. We will definitely see you again soon. read more

We visited Bella Vista either the day after it opened or the day after that. Either way, it was newly open. Let me preface this review by stating this: I only like my tacos on flour tortillas and they have to have sour cream and NO lettuce. I know, not really keeping it real, but that is how I grew up eating my tacos and that is how I will continue to eat my tacos. I ordered a chicken taco and a steak taco, both on flour tortillas and both with sour cream and no lettuce. What I received was a chicken taco and a steak taco, both on corn tortillas, covered with lettuce and not a drop of sour cream. Get this, I liked them. I really liked them. I scraped a majority of the lettuce off, of course.... but what was under the lettuce was pretty darn good. The chicken was so flavorful, I didn't even mind that it was on a corn tortilla. Same with the steak. Both tacos were really delicious. That being said, I doubt we will be running back anytime soon. Too many other Mexican restaurants in the area that are far better and will get a simple order correct. And, I really miss Dante's and it breaks my heart a little to walk into the building. read more

This place took over the location where longtime favorite Dante's left. Sadly I am not in love with this place as I was with Dante's. The food is good, the fish tacos were very solid, the torta, good. The chicken quesodilla (only cheese was on the menu, but they chicken ized it for us) was described as "yummy". The only gripe was with the horchata, too watery. The big plus, they have a drive through! While my heart will long for the former tenant, the new occupant has thus far earned my business. The true test is upcoming, how good are your burrito suizos? Update, if it isn't on the menu, ask. Dude will hook you up. Chilaquiles are fantastic, as are the burritos. So far a big fan of this place. read more

I love this place! Best tacos and burgers around. They are very accommodating to everyone's palate. They have food the kiddos will enjoy. Two tacos down, and I'm already a loyal customer. You know the term "money talks" well we should convert that good old phrase "tacos talk". 10/10 hands down all the way to the corn tortilla. Tender meat, crazed spicy salsa. If you're a local make it your job as a local and come try the food, won't be disappointed. 10/10 customer service at that! read more

Great food and good people. Keep up the good work. The place is a little old and could use a touch-up, but who doesn't need a little work after many years. Stop by and try a burrito for lunch, you will enjoy. read more

Bella Vista is a relatively new Mexican restaurant located on Rt 31 just north of Algonquin road. The menu is simple, but all the classic mexican staples are covered, including tacos, burritos, chile rellenos, enchilada, and various steak dishes. On my first visit I ordered the daily burrito special which included a drink and fries. The beef burrito was large (only a bit smaller than a chipotle burrito) and the beer was tender and well seasoned. Surprising for a mexican restaurant, the fries were good too! The meal was priced at 7.39, definitely a price I'm willing to pay for the portion. Bella Vista also sells meat for catering; carnitas for 6.99/lb and barbacoa for 7.99/lb Over the years this location has changed hands many times, this being the first mexican restaurant I've seen here. I hope Bella Vista sticks around. read more

This building has a lot of history for me, because I was a HUGE fan when Dante's was here, so seeing it change over a few times has been a little sad. After sort of putting off visiting Bella Vista because of my nostalgia, I finally stopped in yesterday. If I could be truthful, I'd give this a 3.85 or something like that. 3 stars is way too low, but it's not quite 4 stars for me. The tacos were great, and their salsa is clearly made in house and excellent. They do serve fries with the burritos, which I thought was odd, but not terrible. They could probably get away with leaving out the fries here. In all, a very nice place that I'll definitely return to. read more

We have been here several times, ordering different items from the menu and have never been disappointed! The food and service is excellent! I just wish they were open a bit later than 7pm.
