What a great course. Is challenging and fun to play. Now the food though oh my! We usually end up here at least once while visiting CO. Have never seen a breakfast burrito this size... humongous! Be sure to get it smothered with green chili and country gravy, is an experience you will remember.

The course marshal is very unprofessional and they over book especially on the weekends which makes you have to play very fast

Here we were, middle of November, by all accounts totally killing it. Longmont Sunset is the one course I can surefire guarantee will be open, even in the cold months. Upon arrival on the day of my first round, there were very few winter players, and I happily ventured out as a single. That was, until, John caught up to me. Like a bat out of hell, a rambunctious cowboy peeled his cart up to the second green. In contrast to his rodeo-like entrance, "Walkin In A Winter Wonderland" echoed out of a bluetooth speaker in his cart. John: "Wanna pair up?" Me: "Yeah, sure, let's do this." John: "Do you mind the Christmas music?" An empty can of Bud Light trickled out of his cart and onto the bermuda grass. Now, I'll pause here for a moment. Golf is a game of upmost etiquette, there are defined unwritten rules about behavior and protocol on the course. Blasting music is, without a doubt, a cardinal sin of the game. As a former golf captain who once experienced championship glory, this may have bothered me in the past. But, those days are long gone, and the thought of playing golf with a Christmas music soundtrack was remarkably enticing in its uniqueness. Given there was no one else on the course, my response was: "TURN IT UP, BIG BOY" (I didn't say 'big boy') On we went, experiencing the fresh mountain air and balmy conditions of a temperate Colorado day. John, unsurprisingly from Texas, opened up to me about his family and why the Christmas music makes him feel closer to home. I was all in on his narrative, and enjoyed striking a 7-iron as Andy Williams sung Happy Holidays. Backswing through contact: "whoop-de-do and dickory dock." John was a terrible golfer, which is great because apparently now I'm terrible as well. It's a use it or lose it sport. With a lack of any pressure or judgement, we sliced the ball around for 7 more glorious holes, and then went again for another 9. John admitted, mid-way through, that he'd struck a man directly in the head with a sliced ball that morning. So, I stood accordingly. This course is relaxed, but well maintained, and does not play as a truncated 9 hole course. Big par 4s guide you up and down the mountainside plains, and while it may not be Colorado's most epic course, it's amazing for the price and convenience. The big oddity is the final hole, which has two separate greens. The appeal of this is unknown. Once back in the clubhouse, cracking wise with the man at the register, two women emerged with enormous grins. One had just struck the holy grail, a hole in one. To be here for this moment was magnificent and I guided her to the closest trophy shop. John, who I'm now realizing may have been Santa, bought her a beer to celebrate. Golf can be a game of cut-throat seriousness, a sometimes stodgy affair, but at Longmont Sunset the idiosyncratic thrills of golf are in full display, in their most distilled (and fun) form. Wow John is definitely Santa.

And shopping for equipment at the Longmont 'Play it Again Sports' was the best experience I've ever had. My kids were signed up for hockey, but my husband and I had never played so we we were really overwhelmed with what we needed to buy and after shopping online, we were suffering from serious "sticker shock." The gentleman who helped us delivered better customer service than we could have expected from anywhere. He gave us over an hour of his time, explaining what we needed and why, helping us shop the best deals ... we absolutely couldn't have done it without him. We are super appreciative of his expertise and patience! The store was clean, organized, and every single employee was kind and knowledgeable. I will never shop anywhere else for sports equipment - I don't care if there's a better deal somewhere else. The customer service, atmosphere, and assistance when I'm unsure of which gear is invaluable. Thanks again for getting our family off on the right foot and setting our kids up for a successful season of hockey! You all are AWESOME! See you next season!

It was important for us to have parking available as well as having everything done in-house. The layout allowed for an easy flow from the bar, dance floor, and dining. There was an elevator for a couple of our guests, who would not have attended had they not been informed. The views and well groomed grounds are hard to beat. We can't say enough about Mallorie, the event planner/manager. Although we are not members of the Boulder Country Club, she was very receptive, helpful, and knowledgeable from the very beginning when we expressed an interest. We were in close contact for over three months and she was always available or got back to us quickly. We even had a full meal tasting and got to meet the chef. We had to do the minimal. Even the florist dealt with Mallorie about the set up. All the small details and then some were taken care of by Mallorie and her staff of at least 12 helpers for our 100 guests. The food was cooked to perfection. We served beef filet and cod. The filet was cooked medium rare and tasted like a more expensive cut. The portions were large. The cod was not breaded and was perfectly cooked. The service...... it's comparable to the Flagstaff House or a Michelin rated establishment. All the entrees were served simultaneously. For a table of 8, there were 4 servers at the same time!! Roger Cridlebaugh of Rock 'N Roger's, was our DJ and had the right selection of music to get our guests onto the dance floor. We are talking about people who seldom dance. The photo booth from 5280 Events, was such a hit. It was hopping for the entire 3 hours. The emails and comments from our guest were the ultimate verification of this superb venue. Nothing but "thumbs up" from everyone. Check it out! You will also be pleasantly surprised at the cost. Thank You Boulder Country Club, Mallorie, and staff.

It is a full-service country club. It offers everything that a top-grade resort hotel has to offer, except for the guest rooms. No doubt my cousin and her family and the others who put months of planning into the wedding created the most perfect wedding I've ever been to, and the BCC obviously played a major part in this lovely event. Excellent setting, excellent communication between venue and wedding party, excellent food, excellent libations, excellent band(s), it was a perfect evening from start to finish.
