I went to La Bella Nails to get acrylics done. I'm not sure if the guy who did my nails has ever even used acrylic He made it too wet, too thin, and didn't apply a proper layer. My nails have dips in them, and one of them lifted straight off after 7 days. The acrylic isn't just uneven, it is over my cuticles. He didn't even bother to clean the sloppy acrylic off my fingers after he smeared it on. After he filed my nails, he didn't even bother to clean the bottom of my nails, I had to do that myself. I have been getting my nails done, and have been getting acrylics done for a very long time. This is the worst job I have ever seen or had done to me. The last picture, that's the length and shape I wanted. read more

I love Bella Nails! I have been going here awhile, and I love Cleo. I usually a powder/dip manicure and a gel pedicure and Cleo does a great job! The other ladies do a great job too. Great color selections and reasonably priced. I am from Ridgefield, and prices here are definitely cheaper than going there. read more

Pretty disappointed that I got a manicure from this salon exactly a week ago, and it's already chipped. This was a beautiful set and the coat of polish was so thin it chipped right off. Went back to have the nails that chipped off fixed, and whoever was at the desk wasn't very accommodating. Didn't want to fix the botched work and told me no one was available but there was 4 girls with empty chairs staring at us throughout the entire conversation. And it's now been 3 weeks and my nails have chipped off AGAIN after having them fixed and 3 of my nails have broken off. Unfortunately I will not return after this experience. The lack of care from the owner on my first visit was one thing, but upon returning and dealing with his rude staff and poor quality of work, I won't be coming back. read more

I have tried this salon a few times and although they have good prices and often do a good work, the staff I have dealt with (the male owner) is rude, unfriendly and rough when filing and using the buffing tool. This last time I went, he cut up my cuticles pretty bad. Although I noted he was being rough that did not make him any more careful. I understand he is the manager but if he cannot focus on clients, he should leave it to other staff. Last time my nails did look nice but the skin around my nails was so raw it ruined it. Last time I went there. Let me walk out with cuticles that rough! read more

Very friendly staff! I went here for the first time yesterday since I am new to the area. They were very busy (Saturday morning) but they were still able to take me within 5 minutes. They are great with nail design (I noticed many people were asking for Christmas designed and they had a huge selection) and will also recommend a color if you are not sure. I will be going back for sure!! ONLY reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 is because there was a strong smell of polish when I first walked in. Not a fan of that :( read more

This place is horrible!!! I wish I didn't have to give any stars. You definitely don't get what you ask for! The owner/manager gave an excuse of the nail artist's second language being English. The end result is a horrible designs, uneven nails, cuts from their nail files and cuticle nippers and THICK fake looking nails! This was my FIRST and LAST time!!! Tuesday 1:30. Stopped in for a pedicure, an acrylic fill... upper lip wax and eyebrow wax. Receptionist, who is dressed like she just got out of bed and rather not be bothered, says "we don't have time". Not "can you wait a few minutes", not "can we do the wax first".... Nothing. Instead basically said, sorry we don't want your business. Zero professionalism. Well... they will never get my business! read more

I paid 28 for a mani and pedi that looked like I did it myself. Very disappointed, I haven't had my nails "professionally" done since the winter. I was really looking forward to treating myself, I honestly should have just done this myself at home. I went and bought the same Essie color and another one for 9.99. This place used to charge 25 bucks now the charge more and their work hasn't even improved. read more

Every time I walk into this nails salon and ask for a walk in appointment they all give me dirty looks, even though it clearly say's walk-ins welcomed. That's not my only issue with this place, I have been a couple of time because location is convenient to my house but every time I get my nails done they always break within the first week even though they say the dip powder should last for 3 weeks ... and I know its not the dip powder because now that I go to Lisa's nail down the street my nails last 3 weeks with out breaking and they're cheaper. I would rather go to Lisa's nail's down the street and be in a basement location then ever waste any more of my hard earned money at Bella's. I really don't like this nail salon at all if you want to be stuffed into a nail salon with a bunch of High Schooler's taking selfies and have their friends invading your space while your trying to get your nails done while they chit chat with their friend getting their nails done ...this is the place for you other than that I highly do not recommend wasting your money here. By far one of the worst nail salons in Danbury. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE do NOT waste your money! I've never been treated so poorly in my life. From the owner to the employees. Absolutely disgusting. Attitudes from the moment I walked in asking if they could do acrylic then ignoring me, making me wait then not even finishing my nails. I moved from manhattan area and was looking for a good nail salon in the area. She was shaping them the way she wanted the second I asked for what I wanted I was given a disgusting attitude. She also burned my own nails w the electric nail file being lazy and not cutting the cuticles. read more

What a hidden gem in the Danbury area! This nail salon is fresh, clean, and amazingly priced. Located in the same plaza as Bagelman it's an experience to repeat! Incredibly clean, great selection of polishes, pedicures, and waxing services! I love that the staff is hip, conversational and most gals working there have a following of loyal customers! read more

I don't know how you can charge $5 dollars extra to "shape" my nails coffin but they turn out not looking like coffin at all and they are super uneven on the sides on every nail. I am quite happy with this place! I'm new to the area and have been looking for a place to get my spa pedi's and my gel/shellac mani's... and I found this place!! I've been driving past it for ages on my way to 84East. Finally decided to stop in so I didnt have to trek back down to Westchester for my mani/pedi. The woman who did my nails thought that whoever did the gel set before was terrible (which I agree). She guaranteed that after she did the fill, they would last at least two weeks. AND THEY DID! I went back almost two weeks to the day to get them done (today actually) and other than the outgrowth, they didn't need to even be filled.... nothing had cracked or chipped off! The pedicure was great. I did a blueberry spa pedicure with callus removal and a wrap on my legs and leg and foot massage for like 20 mins. Unfortunately, one of the reasons I'm giving 3 stars is the roughness I got with the treatment of my feet and lack of roughness with the massage. Another reason I'm giving 3 stars (although honestly it's more like 3.8 stars) is because the place was HOT and there are no windows and they didn't have the AC or the door cracked. Because it's so hot, it ends up smelling from all the acrylics they do. Also, the massage chairs, while comfy and look amazing, aren't that great with the massage and hard to control, bleh because I usually enjoy that part very much. I'm also VERY picky with salons because my mother used to own one so it comes with the territory of being really judgmental for me. A huge plus for me and why I almost can give 4 stars... the prices are great for what you're getting!! This is definitely my new spot but for the once a month pedi that I get, I'll probably continue going to my place down in Westchester, the chairs and massages are just that good! read more

Great place to get your nails done. Standard pricing, it was $50 for mani/pedi with a gel mani. Service is really nice. I suggest calling ahead to book an appointment as they get fairly busy. read more

It's unfortunate that I need to give this place one star, because for the most part they do a good job. I have been coming here for quite some time, but not anymore. In the past I have noticed that the nail techs are not properly trained in treating cuts (when the accidentally cut cuticle too far, etc). It is not okay to touch the cut that is bleeding directly with the bottle that stops the bleeding. At the time I thought it was not a big deal, that it was a one off thing. I had gone a couple of weeks ago as normal to get the nail dip powder. Didn't get cut to my knowledge, but my ring finger was a little sore. Figured it would go away. A week later it got worse, started swelling up (double its size) really red, painful, etc... I ended up going to the doctor a few days later. My finger was badly infected, so bad that I had to go on 10 days worth of antibiotics. The salon was notified about this, and all they could say is that they spray their tools to keep them clean. But quite honestly now that I think about it...I've never seen them clean or grab new tools in between clients, especially on busy days, which is most. If they do, I have never seen it. I truly hope that they take the feedback and upgrade their sterilization process' and train their staff on proper cut treatment (and cross contamination ). LESSON LEARNED... Find a place that properly sterilizes their equipment. A clean pretty salon is not enough. Putting tools under UV light does NOT kill bacteria. Spraying it with chemicals does NOT kill bacteria. There is plenty of information online regarding this. Find a salon that uses an autoclave machine to sterilize their tools. It's the only safe bet for 100% sterilization. NY appears to be the only state close by that by law requires that these machines be used. **FYI- general comment (not particularly directed at Bella Nail), I've also come to find out that nail techs in CT are not required to be certified. Quite scary. Unless you see their individual certificates hanging on wall with their photos, I think it's safe to assume they are not. read more

Went here today to get powder dipped nails for prom. Tech I had did such an incredible job and even though it was busy she didn't rush me at all! My nails truly NEVER break when one of the girls here do my dip powder mani and its the cheapest in the area.

I have been going to this salon for over a year, off and on. I say that because I avoided the area for a while during construction on Padanaram Rd. I do not live in the area so it's a trek for me to get there. I get powder gel manicures and have been to several places in the Newtown/Brookfield/Southbury area as well as the Danbury area. Bella Nails is by far the best, most consistent salon with the largest color selection. Yesterday, I had several errands to run and thought I'd get my manicure locally. What a mistake! after getting a disastrous manicure at a salon in Newtown, I went to Bella because there was no way I could fix it myself. After a lot of effort to remove the messy manicure, I once again have beautiful nails. I've learned my lesson. Bella Nails is worth the trip! They also have the best prices! read more

I go to the other Bella Spa that they have in Newtown and ever since my first visit, I refuse to get my nails done anywhere else. I always see Lisa for my acrylic nails and she never disappoints. This place is the absolute WORST. Like many, I have an extremely busy schedule and very little time. I also, like any person does, expect getting my nails done to be a relaxing experience. Time and time again it has turned out to be the exact opposite of that. I always make an appointment in advance because my schedule is very tight. They NEVER honor your appointment time and on top of that, the man who works there and handles scheduling is UNBELIEVABLY rude. They constantly overbook the girls there and take walk-ins when they clearly can not accommodate them. They always run late and the place just constantly has a tense, stressful vibe. Last time I went for an appointment they started me 40 minutes late. I made the wild mistake of going again because I love the girl I see there and needed a good powder manicure before I leave for vacation. When I called to make my appointment I explained that I had to leave for work right after and needed the appointment to start at the time I made it for (which is the entire purpose of making an appointment and shouldn't be such an issue ....) After waiting for ten minutes, I had to hound the man to even give me an answer of how much longer I would be waiting. This crazy ass fool said to me... 20 more minutes (30 min after my appt time). Meanwhile the woman getting her nails done is mouthing to me... 30 minutes at least. I will never go back to these mfs. The dude did not even apologize!!!!!!!!! These people are WILD. Boycott Bella Nails at all costs. read more

I can no longer recommend this salon. True, they were very good when they just opened. But during the last year all their staff turned over and the current employees just don't seem to care. They are very unfriendly and even if you try to talk to them, they won't talk to you. They just rush through their work as if they have a quota and don't want to spend one minute more with you than necessary, which is why some reviews have said they are rough during pedi's. I had three services done: a pedicure, a manicure, and brow waxing, and I was finished in a record 60 minutes which included sitting under the nail dryer! That's a tad too fast to do things properly. The last time I was in there (last week) I had Erica. She was fast and rough during the pedi, and I tried to tell her she was cutting my nails at weird angles, but she never even acknowledged me. Then during the manicure when she wasn't filing the nails straight, I had to I insist she file my nails straight across and evenly. At one point when she continued to ignore me I asked her "did you hear me?" She acknowledged she did, but continued to be sullen and silent. I had wanted to get my eyebrows waxed, but I was a bit apprehensive by now since I had seen her skill set and lack of attention to the customer's needs. However, I had the brows done, and it was a total mistake. First, she plucked above the brows on one side, even though you should only pluck below the brow line. Then later in the day I realized that I felt something hard at the edge of my brow. It was dried blood. She had CUT my face with the tweezers. I called the salon and asked for the owner, but he wasn't in. I left a message, and it took several days to catch up with him. He excused what happened with Erica by saying "she came from another salon." I pointed out to him that even if she did come from another salon, she now works for him and it is his responsibility to see her properly trained. I also pointed out that they are now re-using nail files, which is not allowed in nail salons. I'm not sure he understood how serious these problems are. If employees are breaking the skin and drawing blood all sorts of infections can result. He said he didn't want to lose my business, since I had been a customer for several years. Kenny (the owner) is a nice guy, but that doesn't replace quality service from the employees. He wants me to return, but I'm not sure I want to ever go back and risk being cut again, either on my cuticles or on my face. read more

I gave Bella nails one star for one paticular reason. The last time I was there I experienced a horrible moment. I was born and raised in Queens ny where there is a beautiful melting pot of different cultures. So when I was refused service by the nail tech named Jessie, solely because of my race I was appalled. Sadly I was brought back to the reality that racism still very much exist. Everyone else in the salon was very nice. read more

I have been going to Bella Nails not to long after they opened. In my opinion Cleo is the best manicurist! When I would remember they have a card you fill 10 spots you get a free manicure. I only get the gel manicure. So with that when I filled my card they would knock $10.00 off my manicure. ( price of the manicure) . On Saturday May 17th I went in with my full card and the "boss" told me no more $10.00 off I can get eyebrow wax. I don't wax my eyebrows . It clearly says on the back of the card "free manicure".I was a faithfull customer every 2 weeks. I am sorry I can't go back because I honestly loved the job Cleo did! She is consistent! I was always happy with my nails! It seems they may have opened a new place in Newtown Ct. I guess they need the money! It's not about the money! I always left Cleo a $10.00 tip. They don't value the customer! read more

I have been going to Bella for about a year now and it is absolutely fabulous. I went to so many (at least 7) different salons looking for one that was decent and once I found this one, my search was over! I have never been even slightly disappointed with their services. I get acrylic nails, but I have very petite hands so if they don't shape my nails correctly they look bulky and clearly fake. Bella has always made mine look natural. Not to mention, their color selection is incredible, and they always have the new OPI collections. They are very friendly, clean, and the prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend this salon. read more

I feel like this review would have originally been a higher rating if it was composed within the past two years.
